I don't believe the forts are going to fade away like the shrines at all, they have tons of barrels so you can stock up your storage crates if needed and they give a decent amount of loot that makes the whole doing the fort thing well worth it. The shrines are not really worth it, unless you're looking for something new to do and you've never done one then they're for you, there is also the huge amount of tridents which could be used in fort of fortunes so I guess that's really all they're good for at this point.

I love the forts for the insane amount of food you get from them. If you get it all before the clear then after the clear it will respawn back in the barrels giving you soo much meat and what not.

I"m usually not really into PvP, BUT ... NGL, I wish there was a way for a crew that's taken over a fort to incentivize enemy ships to come to a fort you're defending, even when it isn't haunted. Like a way to "advertise" yourself and provide another reason for them to go there (maybe bonus loot if the invading crew defeats the defending crew?). Being able to use a captured sea fort's defenses against other players trying to invade it would just be SO damn fun.

People who say the forts will become irrelevant are indeed smooth brained. I will always love the forts because they are ridiculously fast to finish and loot and just my standard way to stock up on resources at the start of a session. Always netting me 15-30 pieces of meat which I cook on the 4 pans in the fortress while doing the fortess simultaneously. Costing me like 15 minutes for AT LEAST 150 cannonballs, 50 wood and unlimited food on top of the loot, but the resources are really what I'm here for. Just doing one fort always prepares me completely for going right into PvP with all the resources I need.

In season 2, me and my friend set sail in a brig and went to go fight flameheart. I stayed below deck most of the time, repairing the ship, bucketing, cooking food occasionally, etc. He would steer, fire cannons, and prevent us from getting shmacked by ghost galleons. Our ship eventually sunk because we both died to a wraith cannonball, and we had to defeat the rest of his fleet on Marauders arch, with most of our occupations remaining the same. I cooked food and fought skellies while he shot at the galleons with the cannons on the island, it was epic. Now, Marauder’s Arch is a legendary island to us, and we regularly visit and light the beacon to recognize what happened there.

Great idea! I have been trying to get a fort key and put it inside one of those vaults to draw attention to it so I can get lots of people coming to steal it. It's hard to do since everyone wants the key while your trying to lock it away but I hope someday it can be pulled off.

Insane content man, keep it up. Also, this gave me an idea, whenever you get a fort key, it doesn't necessarily need to be used to open that certain fort, you can open any of them. So you could really use one of them for storage since the odds of that fort being active are incredibly slim.

Since we were left with a spare key at the end of this adventure we actually did go to a new fort to see if you could open the gate wit hit and yeah, it definitely works. Maybe more shenanigans in the future using this

Just today I discovered people were doing this thing of stacking in the sea fort vault when I went and did one and opened the door to find a LOT more loot than should be there. People do it at FOTD so why not! Thanks, whoever abandoned Royal Crest Fortress and left a bunch of skelly fort and sea fort loot behind! 😂

What is missing from this game is having towns that you can visit with your crew even attack them taking as prisoners important figures for money,marines-navy hunting down the pirates each pirate group could have bounties for example a notorious group would have the navy chasing them most of the time they wouldnt go unnoticed visiting a town for example!That changes would give way more to the game,adding players and making the whole pirate experience more authentic!

I have an idea for these forts. Rare needs to actually let us claim the forts once we defeat them. As soon as you beat the captain, he should drop a key for having access to the main fort door. You can also lock any treasure in the forts treasury. The longer the treasure stays in the treasury, the greater it’s value when you sell at an outpost. In order to claim the fort after beating it, you must raise a fort flag of your choosing. This will give players incentive to attack other players forts in a chance of capturing their treasury key. The main fort door should be destructible and rebuildable, with the ability to open/close and lock it. Just an idea…

it would be really damn cool if loot that you left unsold would be saved on your account when you logged off, so that way you could literally bury chests in places and remember where they are, then when you logged in again, the server would remember where they were and spawn them in for you. or even better, burrying a chest would act globally, so you could bury something, then anyone on any server could dig it up or you could come back to it later

Get atleast 3 friends and seperat into two crews make an alliance You and another friend man a sloop to bring cargo and loot The other two men guard and take care of the loot This should work and they can alert you if they need help or if players approach I know I am late, I had an idea and had to share it
