Typically everyone I know whether its in the reptile care, fish, or the like use tongs, because if you use your hands most predators no matter how small will eventually consider your hand to be the source of the food, and thus will lead to them either biting, chewing, or depending on the size, just ripping off your hand/arm if your not lucky, with using tongs they will still know your feeding them and thus the bond is still their but then they'll consider the Tongs as the source of food, and not your hand leading to more of a bond and trust down the line, I know this can be the case with crocodiles, Alligators, snakes and the like so I imagine fish arent much different when you get down to it.

They only eat some particular fishes found there and are gonna get extinct in a few years. Whenever I see your videos of feeding these gar I am reminded of them, I would bemore than happy if you could give some space for them in your newly built pond. Hope to hear from you soon!
