OK - I'm convinced Either Doug Walker improvised when he saw the cover and genuinely realised the image on the front really was the toy and changed the script when he recorded that real reaction just like when he was genuinely angry in his Pearl Harbour review Or - that was some of the Greatest Acting I've ever seen

I think the ending would be better if this film got a spin-off show where the scientist went around turning other people into monsters, making the kid have to use his monster powers to stop the other monsters as the scientist creates a monster army. So, to briefly answer the film's ending and also explain why the "Monster" didn't resemble the toy enough, I read a comment left on a KZbin upload of the movie. Apparently, the commenter knew one of the actresses in the film and she gave intel. So this movie predates the cartoon series, but was initially intended to be a pilot film for it's own live action TV series. Due to problems with the budget, mostly in managing the suit, the show was turned into a cartoon and rewritten. That's why the movie seemed so open ended, the scientist was intended to turn into "Beastor" and be the main villain of the series. Beastor WAS in fact the main villain of the cartoon. So that explains the creepy ending. As for the monster suit, apparently the film's production team did not have access to the toy which was still in development at the time and therefore didn't have good reference for their suit. Obviously, by the time the film's intro sequence and VHS box art was created, they must have known what the final toy would look like. Hope that all helps!

Actually your comment is true but, In the Old Man Logan comic that the new film Logan is based on, Hulk and She-Hulk have children together and are in an incestuous relationship. This storyline probably won't happen in the film because 1) it's pretty fucked up and 2) Marvel owns Hulk and Fox owns Wolverine and the X-men so the crossover is unlikely to happen. Fox probably won't do a Sony and share with Marvel like spiderman is being shared.

And then tried to make something new and have it be his own passion project only to scrap it and be forced to go back playing as the NC. And even with the controversy failing, it did succeed in having the NC loose it’s reputation and gave me a realization on one man being forced to do the same thing endlessly for money without doing anything else is honestly really sad. Despite not being as sad of a life as a grifter but really sad. And this clip gave into an insight on potentially Doug’s psych on his life and if he really wanted to branch off on something new. And with the possibly unintentional edit of the Hulk theme, this makes the ending more… haunting

Fun fact: Alyson Court is very recognizable if you grew up in Canada in the 90s. She was Loonette the Clown, the main character of Big Comfy Couch. It ran for about a decade up here. You’ll recognize the sexed up version as Alexa Bliss the wrestler. They both have similar dolls and talk to them the same way. Who’s writing for WWE? TV Ontario?

It’s crazy to think that it’d because of this movie review we got the awesomeness that is nostalgic commercials!’

That "kinky Hulk" gag is kinda weird when you realize that She-Hulk is his COUSIN

It's possible critic based off their depiction in Old Man Logan, where a villainous Hulk had incest with She-Hulk creating a Hillbilly Cannibal Hulk Family.

Speaks of Muppets, Maybe the reason the costume looks lame is because no can ever compete with Jim Henson????

There were two unrelated NES games called Monsters in My Pocket and Monster Party. The latter actually featured a kid turning into a monster, like this movie.

Alyson Court... OH MY GOD SHE WAS LOONETTE. I now don't care about the rest of the movie, I'm having Big Comfy Couch nostalgia XD

For some reason I remember watching that show, and yet years later, I hardly don't remember a single thing about The Big Comfy Couch at all. Maybe I was too busy being a fan of other shows to remember, same with Johnny and the Sprites.

Doug don’t blame Sam Rainy the only reason the lizard wasn’t used is because he was going to be in the forth movie but Sam Rainy delayed it because he thought everyone would hate it but now everyone just loves it

Well, we got to thank the director of this movie because otherwise there would be no commercial specials.

Anonymous I missed it the first time around. Did the director really take offense at this review?

Then in the finale, the scientist creates a monster army, meaning only the kids can stop him. Then in the finale battle, the scientist absorbs the power of his monster army, transforming into Beastor. Then after an epic final battle, Beastor is thrown into the statues, destroying them and returning everyone, including the kids, to normal. Tell me that sounds awsome.😃👑

I never saw it because my family was sooooooo poor we didn't get a VCR until 1988 and didn't start renting movies until about 1990 when this was long gone. In retrospect, the poverty clearly saved us from many terrible things.
