If you have the factory aero kit part, the front splitter (which you have), you need to install the wing or remove the splitter because it messes with the dynamics of the car. That is why porsche always sold the kit with the wing and splitter.

I love the WTL! I have a 1989 3.2 in the "regular" body and although I really like my car, I wish it was a WTL. The stance of the WTL just looks so much more powerful to me. The one thing I would add to your car though is the tail, both for appearance and also (as someone else noted below) you need if for proper aerodynamics since you have the front spoiler. My car has the tail, but I don't think it looks right on the regular body 3.2's, but on the WTL (and the 930s of course) for me the tail balances the lines of the wider back end perfectly. Congrats on a great purchase and really looking forward to watching you work on this beautiful machine!

My birthday is in April, and I am in Las Vegas, which is ideal climate for an older Porsche. Nice and dry desert climate. Anyway, I have always wanted a Porsche, and it would make a nice birthday present after you fix it up. 😆 🤣 😂 I just found your channel so I will have to catch up. That 944 looks interesting. You must have painted it.

I'll keep that in mind ;) 944 colour is still original but fully detailled.

Just at the right time for me! I’ve just bought an 86 3.2 SSE Targa from England. It’s being shipped to me in Kuala Lumpur and should arrive in late January / February. It looks pretty original and in very good condition but will probably need a makeover - so it will be interesting to see how you prepare your car. Question: what is you aim? Restore to original or do some performance and cosmetic mods?
@AmazingCarsSwitzerland2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on your 911! What colour did you find one in? My aim depends on whether the car has matching numbers or not. I am currently waiting for the birth certificate to have the final decision. More on that on the next video though!

@@AmazingCarsSwitzerland hi - it’s in its original iris blue with dark blue velour sports seats. The interior trim is all blue including the leather gear stick cover and steering wheel. I might replace these with black rubber boot and a more turbo steering wheel in black, to give it black accents. The Fuchs centres are in the body colour (per specs) but I might make them black. Not original but can be reversed. Also will drive it for a bit before deciding on keeping suspension original or putting in coil overs similar to 964 or even 993. Let’s see. No decisions until I see and drive the car for a while. Immediately, will take care of everything necessary to make it in good driving condition and will defer all decisions until then.

If your Porsche is the M491 turbo look, they are so rear and collectible, it should say it on the sticker under front hood, keep it original

So what’s happened to your restoration?

Mine arrived in February and I’ve had the suspension rebuilt which was expensive, and other general fettling. It’s superb! Took it on a 750kms drive on highways and b-roads to shake it down and settle the suspension. I’m just in love with it. I have 6 cars, but almost always jump into the M491. And it turns heads and gets a reaction everywhere!

Sounds awesome! I've had big challenges to get the car registered here in Switzerland. The next appointment will be on the 10th of December, fingers crossed! Video hopefully to follow afterwards. I talked about it in my latest video (I bough another 944)

@@AmazingCarsSwitzerland good luck with the registration! That’s a bureaucratic nightmare!
