Hi Jakob. Great to see another well made video. I’m loving the new 4s - power and poise; and really admire the 993 4s - classic and cool. Keeping a balance btwn family, fun, and work is important so a quality vid is way more important than a weekly vid. Glad to see your summer is fun. Take care and cheers from Round Rock.

Thanks for tuning in! Yes, I had to step back a little to balance all those things out! The new car is a blast, I'm having a great time with it.

Check out US Mill Works. I love their brackets. Goes into the tow hook
@rebldriver93066 жыл бұрын
In California we have the same rule with front license plates
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
I've heard great things about the US Mill Works! The only reason I didn't go with it is I do not like the look of the front end with a tow-hook mounted plate - it breaks the symmetry

Jakob, it's good to see another video - I missed them!! I loved the coverage of the Cup Series - thanks!

Thank you Charles! I'm having so much fun around the Cup Challenge - what an exciting series

That plate mount is dope - Thanks for the tip on that. If you HAVE to run a front plate, that the best way to do it. LOL on the cup holder.
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, sucks that we have to run one! Cheers!

Your editing in the "do it yourself" break change was awesome. From the jack hammering effect when you were tapping the bolt to the soundtrack with the ambient internet talk going on in the background. If you're not in film you have a second career waiting dude.

I really appreciate the comment Frank!! I am in a visual and creative field, but not film. That's so nice of you to say man, cheers! I'm happy making these 911% videos on the side, it's a fantastic way to keep my pencils sharp :) Thanks again! Take care

I learned a new automotive technical term. BFH. Lol. Good thing I don't have one. I get frustrated easily with my car nowdays and I might use it inappropriately. I worked on my cars since I was a kid and liked doing it but now that I'm 70 I really don't want to anymore but having a working car beats taking the bus.

Those cup holders are great for bottles, coffee can spill especially on bad roads. You really need to plug the opening with the plastic stay. Could’ve gone with a US millworks tow hook mount. That’s what I did after a no front plate ticket.
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I don't drink coffee in the car often so it's all good - also with PDK, I usually just hold the cup and crawl in traffic in auto. I wasn't interested in towhook mounts - I like the plate to be symmetrical on the front. I've heard great things about the US Millworks one. Cheers

swap out the light bulbs in the clear mark as well, they are clear in the orange markers, and orange in the clear markers
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Good idea, but that would make them illegal here...we need amber lights for indicators in the front and side of the vehicle... Cheers!

gotcha...... just to let you know, my 997.2 is almost identical to yours..and the side marker was my first mod....I just installed Zunsports grille..

Another great video! So happy to see you getting into and enjoying the new car. We’ll have to meet up sometime to chat cars etc. Trying to find the time for some drives and some track days with PCO maybe. Thank you for continuing to make these great pieces.

Thanks for watching Geoffrey. Yeah, the car is really amazing - I'm embarrassed to say the 993 is collecting dust at the moment. :) Yes, definitely should meet up and chat cars. Talk to you soon

Hi Jakob, nice vid again! I am enjoying watching you ownership journey with your 997. I have just done a small mod of replacing the rear muffler with a set of bypass pipes on the PSE and loving the new sound, nothing anti-social just a nicer sound :) Have a great summer of driving!
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Hi Neil, thanks for watching! Awesome! I can't wait to do the sharkwerks xpipe and a set of Fisters on mine. I don't have PSE, I'm so ready for some extra crackles and pops :) Happy motoring!

So jelly of the GT3 cup cars you get to hang out with! Curious why you didn’t go with a tow hook mount plate bracket. Are those not legal in Canada? You should be a certified Porsche brake mechanic now, as many brake jobs as you’ve done!! Open a part time Indy shop. Still waiting for the 993 vs 997 comparo. PDK vs MT.
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Cup car stuff is so fun. I do not like the look of tow hook mounted front plates :P. Ha, yeah, not sure about certified, but I've done my fair share of them haha. Comparison videos coming soon. Cheers

Hi Jakob, great videos - we bumped into each other briefly at the Destination Porsche event at Tremblant on Friday. I had been admiring your 993 in the corral earlier and just came across your channel today! I just watched both brake replacements segments and was curious - did you not have to deal with the damper plates behind the brake pads and the cylindrical plugs that fit into the caliper pistons? I did the fronts on my 2009 C2S last summer, and found that the plugs had seized in place - I would have had to fully remove and disassemble the caliper to change them, so I just pasted the pad backing and reused the dampers. I'll likely be doing the rears next summer... cheers and keep up the great content!

Great channel! I was wondering how much time it takes you to prepare your KZbin Videos? What kind of camera do you use and what program do you use to edit the videos (with the text etc.)? Thank you!
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for tuning in. To answer your questions: depends on the video but all in all it takes a long time - hats off to daily vloggers; i don't know how they do it... I use a mix of DSLR, a few gopros and an OSMO. I use Adobe Premier CC to edit my videos. Hope this helps!
@vxnewton6 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thanks for this info. What is OSMO though? If I may, I would only have one suggestion for improvement: next time you go to Starbucks, bring your own mug, such as this super awesome Porsche mug that I am using (shop4.porsche.com/germany/lifestyle/home/wap0500640h/porsche-thermobecher-edelstahl.pdds) -> this will help to reduce waste and nature will be happy :)
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
You are right! I usually bring my own coffee from home anyway! But yeah, good call!! Thank you for spreading a positive (and important) message like that! Cheers! I use an OSMO Plus, I hope that helps!

Great video as always. Been missing them. Why no tow hook plate mount?
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! To be honest, I don't like how the tow hook mounted plates disrupt the symmetry in the front :)

Jakob, nice video! I’ve been wondering when the next one was coming.. where do you get your parts from? I’m sick of import duty charges etc from the US. Thanks!
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for tuning in. I buy parts usually from local Porsche dealers (shop the USA prices, I found Pcar dealers pretty competitive), Germanparts.ca (use code 911C4S for 10% off) and sometimes I bite the bullet and order from Pelicanparts.
@matthewrobertson99866 жыл бұрын
Great video. What brand of pads & rotors did you use? Need to do the brakes on my 997.1 S, GermanParts.ca has a few options so looking for some recommendations.
@911Percent6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Matt. I bought Brembo rotors and Genuine Porsche pads. I bought the brembo rotors from GermanParts.ca - (use coupon code "911C4S" for a discount next time). No complaints what so ever after 1K kms on the components.
