This is my last negative MK1 video. Where I quit creating content around the time the game released, I never really got my complete thoughts out there. So here it is, this is it. No more negativity. You're not alone Tooten we all feel disappointed in how MK12 turned out from its gameplay to its lore, I just hope that whichever publisher that buys the MK IP from Wb they get a new team that sticks to what makes Mortal Kombat special, and just reboot it or make a direct sequel to MK Armageddon and have John Tobias and John Vogel as writers again, and also have a development team that creates a legacy set similar to MK9 with full sets and let characters have their iconic specials throughout the series with good combo strings too. Oh and they should also maybe stop the online live service and no microtransactions too.

Unfortunately I don’t think WB is going to let go of MK unless they’re legit about to go under. MK is a cash cow for them. It’s why MK1 is as bad as it is, or at least was on launch. They pushed it out 6-8 months early to recoup lost profits. I’d love if what you said happened though, it would be hype dude.

i’m embarrassed that when this game first game out i was telling everyone abt it.. wouldn’t stop talking abt it.. ignored my gf at the time because i was playing it even tho we were in the same room. all for what?? for me to have 800+ hrs on this game and have no desire to reinstall it again? man she must’ve thought i was a nerd lmaoo. this game fooled all of us. took a lot of time away from us

No real 1v1 mode killed this game. The Kameo nonsense alienated a lot of people before the game even released

Kameos have definitely been talked about in a very negative light since before launch. I feel like if they would have NAILED them, made them super fun, super well designed and would have incorporated them into the gameplay better. They wouldn't have been AS bad.

Thats literally the same exact feeling I had with Nitara. Because of her Air Dash, she was way more complicated than everyone else and she was playing a different game. Meaning the only reason why I was having any enjoyment with MK1 was because I was playing a character who didnt play MK1 lol . NRS should not have the MK license anymore. It should not be costing a full on avengers movie to make an MK game. NRS' budget is so inflated its a miracle WB manages to give them 300+million dollars to make a game. And I don't think NRS could find another publisher who can maintain their over inflated budget. Im personally not gonna blame the company signing the 300+million dollar check to NRS and giving them a timeline, Im gonna blame the people who get that check and are supposed to allocate the money and timeline.

Nitara can’t open people up. Which sucks because every character can just kill her with their combos. She needs more combo routes.

Agreed dude. I will say, as the other dude here said; I couldn’t get down with Nitara because she couldn’t open people up. She was playing a different game with her air dash, like she was playing MAHVEL bro lol. But she still couldn’t open people up. But man, it’s been like this for the past 2 MKs for me. I pick the characters playing an entirely different game, Jaqui and Kenshi, have fun, get shit and then finally switch and it just kills the game for me lol.

@ not just you Ik a lot of people that felt that way after MKX to MK12, nrs just keep rebuilding everyone’s movesets, special inputs and combo strings and it finally hit me after playing MK12 with how sluggish and weird everyone is played which sucks because Li Mei and Nitara are super fun in this game.

I meant to talk about that in this video. Like, why do they feel the need to entirely change a characters move set from game to game? Different specials? Sure. But an ENTIRELY different move set? Normals, specials, everything? It just seems pointless and overly complicated, just to try and be just the slightest bit different than other FGs on the market.

Honestly with MK1 Scorpion, it could have easily worked as a Hanzo skin too. Hell when I saw the bun I thought it was Hanzo Hasashi at first. Very disappointed when I found out that wasn't the case. Also I'll admit, the gameplay isn't the best for MK1 but I prefer it over MK11 gameplay

Heard nothing but negative on release, so I never played MK1 until a few months ago. But when I did, I actually enjoyed it quite a lot. But once you've seen everything and are wowed by the visuals, it only lasts so long. And now I'm bored with it. Went back to UMK3 on fightcade online, which is faster and more fun to me. Even being a 30-year-old game at this point.

It's insane how 30+ year old games can be more fun than the new releases. I think Street Fighter 3rd Strike is tons more fun than every NRS game released since IJ2. It's better than SFV, it's more fun than Tekken 7 and potentially 8. Comparing SF3S to MK and Tekken is like comparing apples to oranges, but I can definitely compare the amount of fun that I have between them, and it's not even a competition tbh.

Same bro. I was casually playing all of the MKs when I was a kid. Got REALLY into it with X and expected that top tier design across the board to continue. Sadly, it hasn't. Hopefully they get back to it, and hit the next one out of the park.

It took you 2hrs to find a damn match!?!!? Good lord. I have a lot of problems with this game but I never had that. But yeah this game just became too damn stale to fast. Those insiders seem Legit, but until I hear it directly from NRS or WB I'm still not sold on MK1 being done. Good well articulated video.

I say the game's failure is not on kameos and game mechanics its on lack of normal stuff and that's cause this game released atleast 6 months soon that's on wb 12 box for a fatality or 10 box for a skin its on wb that tried to cover all their losses from games like multiversus and suiside squad from mk1 if these problems were never in the game no body would be complaining about it

I sure know that this was weird af, I've always been an MK and Tekken guy, I know base af idc, but MK always killed it in sales and gameplay they were the kings! Then 11 divided the fan base, Tekken 7 got traction and picked up hella good! Then WB went and WB'd tf out MK1 and crushed us all eventually other than a few cast aways still swearing by it to this day (which if that's y'all that's cool live your best life I'm honestly jealous). Then Tekken just had to drop 8 solid throbbing inches into their gaping wound, stole part of the Mk fan base and basically had me fanboying out and f*cking CRYING I loved it so much. MK was King tho.. hopefully one day with a new publisher it'll actually be a hard decision for me in what game to devote time to.

For me it’s been SF6, still going strong, still as fun as it was day 1. I’m really hoping that, either WB gets their shit together, along with NRS. Or another publisher offers a ludicrous amount of money for MK and we start getting bangers again. I feel like a long lost lover talking about the series now, reminiscing on MKX and IJ2 😂.

"Brainwashed" can be define by being blinded by the hype. But at the start if you doesn't see from the gameplay trailer reveal the graphic downgrade which i find alarming. + The Shang Tsung pre-order annoucement doesn't warn anybody ? It define the lack of time to make MK1. It's the worst creation of NRS. Even MK v.s DC feel more complete and not direspectful for the fans and the fighting game genre. Fumbling content with Kameos, Skins and "what-if expansion" and accuse their public to not being attracted. I prefer playing with less speed and kombos then doing the same moves 3-4th times a round. I prefer variation because without them we can't be able to change our costume in the select character menu which is so funny. Buying skins who are hide and blocked to be selected.😂 MK11 was too successful we cancel KP3. MK1 was a failure we cancel KP3. They are clowns 🎉

Like I said, I was blinded by how fun Kenshi was. Not so much the hype. I was excited because it did look faster than MK11. Kenshi really blinded me though. He was fun and mechanically deep as I said. It didn’t make sense that MK11 didn’t get a KP3 with how popular it was. Even though I hated it with a passion. It was one of the most successful MKs ever.

We gotta stop using twitch views as some sort of measurement of success because it’s not. Circana just released today too played games across all three major platforms and on PlayStation mk1 was in the top 15 while street fighter and tekken were not. Twitch views benefit the streamer not the game.

It’s an accurate representation of the amount of people still interested in the game. Taking the variable of a popular streamer playing the game once in a blue moon, you can get a 30 day average for the game’s average viewer count on a daily basis. I feel it’s accurate. There’s more content being put out for SF and Tekken on KZbin, it’s getting more views, more people are watching those games daily. I just looked at it in the video, but I’ve looked at the averages not that long ago to even come to that conclusion.
