WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Seriously, they do that shit WAY too much, nitpicking over this and that... not formulating thoughts and words the right way, yada yada.... if this is how they think everyone should think.... my gods, man! Basically if you can't formulate your words the way they think you should they get bitchy about it. They were right about the first premise defeating everything because it depends on assumption it's true which defeats the purpose of trying to prove it true, but other than that it was getting in the way of an actual discourse, he could barely get anything in edgewise with all the bitching cutting him off. I really appreciate Jenna's gentle yet firm approach to speaking with the callers. She really left the door open for Yoel to admit he didn't know how a logical argument was structured when she shared that she was just learning about the subject herself. Unfortunately even asking the same question over and over again, Yoel just couldn't bring himself to admit he didn't know how tp present logical arguments. I think this is a case of the Dunning-Kruger effect. It never ceases to amaze me that people call into the show, say they have watched a number of episodes yet don't seem to understand that they will be asked to back up their claims with proof and "The Bible tells me so" is no proof at all! After so many years we would hope that the two things would be top of mind when calling into the show. It's like many theists have blinders on and are only willing to see in the tunnel that the blinders present. I feel for the hosts who have to deal with such willful ignorance time after time. Back to Jenna....I want he to know how much I appreciate her compassion and clarity. Thanks.

@wunnell
@wunnell 5 жыл бұрын
This is one of the primary issues I have with Christianity. They claim that their god is all-loving and wants a relationship with me, but will not reveal itself to me. That description is completely incoherent to me so I cannot possibly believe that such a god exists. I'm not all-loving and if I wanted to have a relationship with someone then I would definitely let them know that I existed. For a being that is supposedly infinitely more loving than I am to not do such a simple thing is beyond my comprehension. If such a god exists then, when Christians talk about love, they are not talking about anything that I understand to be love. Basically, if their god does exist and it created me then it made me unable to believe in it and that precludes it from being perfect, thus it does not exist. If there is a god, it is definitely not the one that Christians describe.

If you get into deep theology there is some (not a lot) support for the argument that something from nothing can be called a support for a creator. I'm not arguing it but there is potential for its use. Sadly it requires far more study and intelligence than most believers are capable of. I first started watching these videos two years ago and I've come back to watch a few of them and this is one of them. So one thing I've noticed is that theist callers often try to Define their God into existence to the point where, just like this guy, they can't even get to the argument because there are problems with their definitions.

because its the basic meaning of the show of no proof of a god. Matt never said never exist Again and just like Mosses never believed till god came to him according to this Book shows no proof because its a book with some proof of history with many detailed arguments for man can remember back history does not prove spirits by a book. So in any case whether we believe or not every one is innocent except the ones who are dishonnest are kinda untrustworthy to any god or living thing..

It is funny how abiogenesis, which is a theory that fits observations and doesn’t require a supernatural agent, is rejected by religious people and yet the Big Bang theory, also a theory that fits with observation, is seized upon by religious people as a proof of a supernatural agent because they can fit it into the creation myth they have already accepted as true with no proof whatsoever.

We have the laws of physics and two facts. 1st fact: we DO KNOW something exists. 2nd fact: we DO NOT KNOW if there was ever nothing. Einstein's law of conservation of mass/energy. Mass/energy cannot be created or destroyed. If mass/energy cannot be created then it wasn't created. If mass/energy cannot be created, and it exists, it has always existed.

I think, what this caller was trying to imply was, as humans, our state of existence is always changing (IE: evolving) and that’s our “default” state. He believes that god is perfect and has NO MORE changes to be applied so his default state is considered “perfect” or that god is a perfect being due to reaching a perfect potential??
