"Evolutionary adaptations exist and not through the will of their owners, therefore God." "Every animal is perfect for its environment, therefore God." Evolution is an endless goal. The environment constantly changes, therefore life must constantly adapt to it. There is no such thing as "perfection" unless there was an environment that never changes (not possible) or an organism that can change form at will for any environment (like the Zerg for example, which do not exist). The caller does not realize he refuted himself. "Hawks have better eyesight than humans in terms of distance." Yes, so what? They need distance vision to hunt from the air, more accurately their ability to track movement is keen. Humans do not hunt from the air and we were not at the top of the food chain before we mastered fire and tools. We were hunted by big cats, so we needed good color and binocular vision to make them out. "If there was no death, there would be overpopulation, therefore God." This makes the assumption God made overpopulation a problem to be solved by death. This is very stupid. God could have made overpopulation a non-factor by making everyone gay or incapable of overproducing. This also assumes overpopulation is no longer a problem because of death, which is demonstrably false. It is still a huge problem. Also, if organisms were perfectly adapted to their environment, they wouldn't die now would they? Damn, this caller is stupid! *Disclaimer: Caller may or may not be stupid, but his arguments undoubtedly are stupid.*

I don’t think you understand the implications of “no death”. If there was no death then there would be no life. What were you before you were born? I can answer it for you; you were dead. You were dead for an infinite amount of time, then born for a limited amount of time, and soon will die for an infinite amount of time. Without death, everything that could possibly exist would exist and it could never change because then that would be death of something. An all-existing never-changing world can’t bring experience. It would be frozen in time, stuck. This is why you, the infinite creator called consciousness, created life and death to begin with. They are inseparable opposing aspects, like two sides of a coin, that must exist together or not at all, and the relationship between them is what people call God or singularity or Karma, just to name a few.

Why does it always seem that these “discussions” have your opponents bringing a knife to tank battle? I almost feel sorry for them! I can’t understand why any rational person would be a “believer” (think something is true without any evidence and refuse to even listen to any contra arguments) especially with all the astronomical data we have for our truly insignificant place in our universe. Sorry to say this bluntly but intelligence is incompatible with religion, god and other magical nonsense.
@bobs1823 жыл бұрын
Yes, we like to think that we aren't very instinctual but instinct easily overrides intellect. We evolved to survive more than we evolved to know what is true. If there was no death, how would you define over-population? If there was no death, obviously life would be very different. If there was no death, what need would there be for reproduction? Whatever life was on the planet would have had to come about through some means, and then just never die. There was no indication that the guy was even talking about human life. What if there was no death, but the world was covered with single-celled organisms? Would they reproduce sexually? Would they stop multiplying if the supply of nutrients ran out? Since there is death, you would necessarily have to define life very differently to support a proposition of there being no death, since we have no idea what that looks like.
@1990maman4 жыл бұрын
And even then, I still can't see how that somehow demonstrates a God. "If there was no death, there would be overpopulation." Okay...go on? Whose to say that death was an intention? What kind of argument is that? It's mind-boggling that theist callers still call in to say absolutely nothing.

I’m glad y’all finally got him down to a form of his argument that really could no longer be reduced.
