Hi all! OMG this video blew up whew!! And I just wanted to clarify some things- seeing all these comments about my character and my baby from negative nancy's is not what my page is about so I am steering clear of puppy videos from now on! I will be uploading a long-overdue puppy video in a few weeks so stay tuned for that! Thanks for the love and support and to the new fam who have followed! Excited to start posting and creating content again and maybe Kovu would make an appearance or two.P.S Kovu is 6 months now and he is so huge compared to this video and he is def grown into his personality! I can't wait to share more on that soon too!

Separation Anxiety is pretty common in Doodles (that breed). You can also try to leave a shirt with your scent with him while you’re gone to see if it calms him.

Dogs don’t necessarily understand 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐒. They understand sounds. You can say “AHT!” Depending on how it’s trained it’ll respond accordingly. Wether the dog has associated “AHT” with sit, roll over, hi-5.

I am SO sorry you had such a bad experience with trying to bring your new baby home!! I’m about to adopt two shih tzu puppies in about a month or so - they’ll be about 8 to 10 weeks old. Fortunately, the breeder is only about two to three hours away so we will be driving there to meet the breeder and then pick up our babies. For the barking, part of that is likely due to separation anxiety resulting from his travel experience and then you being around him every time he barks. He’s learned that if he makes noise, you respond by going back to him. Lol It’s fun but also a lot of work training a puppy. But CONGRATULATIONS on your new fur-baby! I love the name Kovu- so adorable! And given that you were afraid of dogs, you are doing an amazing job! I’m sure you’ll be a great pack leader for Kovu and he’ll be a great addition to your life and family! The both of you must have been so frustrated - and a bit traumatized - from the stressful process of getting him home! It would have made me crazy - you handled it much more gracefully than I would have. Lol Love and prayers to you both!

When you use that light voice with him he thinks you’re positively reinforcing his behaviour you need to turn yourself from him and not engage for him to understand he shouldn’t continue the loud barking and crying

Hello! Nice video! I adopted two Yorkie Poo puppies seven years ago. They were two months when I adopted them. I was also told that they were "hypo allergetic" but once their adult fur began to grow in and their happy fur shredded, I learned the truth. Dogs are really not "hypo alergetic," its a term people created for certain mixed breed of dogs, particularly "designer dog" breeds to make the more marketable, as a justification for why they are so expensive but that's another story. Along as the dander doesn't shed much, their saliva doesn't bother you much (when they groom themselves and their feces is cleaned from their bottoms after the pooh, those things will help reduce allergies. Also, just like babies, they teeth until their puppy teeth fall out and their adult teeth grow in, for smaller dogs it usually last between two through right months, so they bite on anything and everything because it soothe the pain. Also, the smaller dogs are usually more hyper so they have to constantly be stimulated, otherwise they will get bored and cause chaos. As puppies, they have suges of energy, so they will play until they completely tire themselves out. Its best to read up on Havi-Poos if you have not done so already, just to get a general idea of their behaviors, and even their health history. Enjoy your baby, he might start changing soon, as far as his color and texture is concerned. He's a doll none the less. I wish you the best with him!

This is why you don't buy dogs before meeting them. If you have to drive 2 or 4 hours to get a puppy please do so! I strongly recommend it to anyone that wants to adopt a puppy.

Yes they definitely make it seem so easy in vlogs. In reality the first few weeks are always the most challenging 😭. Smaller dogs usually have separation anxiety.

Especially when they are so young and are just experiencing their separation from their litter mates. It’s an adjustment period for both new mama and new fur-baby. But she’s doing REALLY well with Kovu for being a new doggie lover and owner!

you're supposed to let them cry it out and leave and come back with a treat when the dog stops barking. Do this multiple times...it'll take some time for them to adjust. You'll realize the puppy will cry when you leave to go to sleep, but eventually will stop barking. Treats for good behavior :)

I have a Dalmatian and she is my first puppy, she is now 8months and she is doing sooo well! She used to bark every time she would see us in the kitchen or whenever she wanted to cuddle with me and my partner every night. Every time she barked we left the living room (where her pen is) and closed the door so that she couldn't see us. We waited until she stopped barking. Wait around 3 secs minimum, don't wait too long as dogs have short memory and will forget and has left effect if you leave things too long. After the 3 secs come back in but don't show any affection but praise with a simple 'good' for being quite. I have to do this for a week and a half every single time and now she doesn't bark unless she really annoyed with something. It takes patience but it works. Hope that helps :)
