Very useful content!! I just purchased a similar machine. Is there a way to ask specific questions about this machine. I am not sure mine is operating fully.

It’s a good machine, hope you cut many stones with it! I’d suggest a careful cleaning of the handpiece with q-tips and a little WD-40. Flip the nut holding the dop, makes it easier to unscrew. The white powder is probably aluminum oxide. Best advice I can give is to grit your teeth and buy a new set of laps. I’ve wasted many hours on lousy old laps, don’t recommend it. Buy a Greenway for polishing, works on almost everything. Have fun!

Many thanks for the tips! My local expert also set me straight on the dop nut direction. I'm muddling through with the laps right now. They're used but most are in good condition, but I agree I will eventually need to suck it up and grab some new ones. Just have to wait for the hit of this purchase to fade from my checkbook first.

hi ^^ french guy here. i don't find on the website of Raytech some specification, how far can you elevate the right platform ? i would like to build big piece like a thumb. Thanks for this video , it helps a lot ^^

@@mysticnaeco I currently have a huge stone, about 30 mm diameter and 45 mm long on the dop. This really pushed the limits of the height. You could potentially get a very flat machined metal block and use it to prop up the handpiece.
