"7-ELEVEN" was a reference to playing video games and learning how to be a good aim. 7-ELEVEN was a convenience store chain that usually housed coin-operated video games in the 70s and 80s.

Hogan's Alley was a shooting game from Nintendo and the arcade version was common at convenience stores in the 1980s. That is how Marty learned to shoot at 7-Eleven. This same game is at the 80s Cafe in the second movie.

Marty learned how you use a gun by playing shooting games like we see in the Cafe 80 in BTTF2 (when the kids tell him it's a game for babies, hence the reference).

It would be not only pretty gross but extremely unhygienic too given how many germs and bacteria are in human saliva, nevermind phlegm. And as you saw from the water his ancestors were able to give him to drink or the bartender telling him he'd need to dunk his head in the trough for water, they don't exactly have very clean water sources there and probably have minimal bathing. Alcohol was probably more sterile.

This one is my fave of the trilogy. I love that its more of Doc's story than Marty's, and Doc's love interest is far more interesting than Marty's. Also has the best Tannen villain, and of course the use of the name "Clint Eastwood" 🤣

13:10 When I was in high school, I was a JROTC cadet. A necessary part of that meant standing for weekly uniform inspections which meant, among other things, ironing my shirt every week. You would never suspect it if you've never gone through it, but this can be incredibly _time_ consuming. So every weekend, I would iron my shirt while I watched a movie, and over and over again, I would watch my way through _this_ trilogy. And you would never guess it until you go through it, but seeing the Hill Valley town square in 1985, then in 1955, then in 2015, then in alternate 1985, then in 1955 again, then in 1885 will teach you the most _profound awareness_ of all the ways cities can _change_ over time.

Hi Vanessa, that is a very nice dress you are wearing!🙂Marty says he learned to shoot at 7/11. That is a convenient store chain. He meant playing arcade games that were inside the store. When he goes to the future he plays the "Wild Gunman" arcade game he was familiar with in the Cafe 80's. Nowadays they don't have arcade games in the stores anymore.

A lot of families keep track of their lineage with one or more family members keeping a family tree describing who was born and died, where and when, marriages and divorces. Some of these family histories cover centuries of time, and dozens of generations. I have a cousin in my own family who covered her father and mother for seven or eight generations.

BTTF Part 2 & 3 were actually filmed, back to back. I loved the teaser trailer for Part 3 at the end of Part 2. Part 3 was the first to reveal the new Universal pictures logo for it's 75th Anniversary. This was the only film in the trilogy i've seen in theaters. The horses pulling the DeLorean was the artwork for the teaser poster and that looked pretty good. Mary Steenburgen (Clara) did a film about time travel called "Time After Time" (1979) that was more of a suspense thriller. 3 of the band members (2 guitarists and 1 drummer) was the real-life legendary band, ZZ Top. They performed the film's song, "Doubleback", heard within the ceremony and in the end credits.

Interesting what you mentioned about not even knowing your great grandparents' names. I don't know all of them, but I've met 3 or 4 of my great grandparents, two of them I can actually remember and remember visiting their houses. One of my grandparents is still alive and I'm a least 5-10 years older than you, being a middle-ish year millennial. The others all died within the past 10 years.

8:36 Clint Eastwood was reportedly flattered by the way his name factored into the movie as well as the subtle references. In fact, if you look at the movie posters in this shot, both of those 50s b-movies on the posters featured Clint Eastwood in early roles!

7:51 "Okay. How do you know so much about your family? I don't even know the name of my grandparents. No. My great-grandparents." A perfectly fair point. In the course of the movie, Marty demonstrates awareness of the names of his grandparents _grandparents._ His parents parents parents _parents._ I mean, _wow._ I know the names of all of my grandparents and my paternal grandmother's maiden name. I happen to know which European country she's descended from, but it's never really struck me as worthwhile to track it _beyond_ that. _Their_ grandparents are people I would _not_ be able to identify. We each have it in our best interests to know a _little_ family history, but we face an increasing, practical _challenge_ with it, the further back we _go._ Do I have ancestors who fought in the American Civil War? Probably. I couldn't tell you a damn thing about 'em beyond that. Do I have ancestors who fought in the American Revolution? Probably. I couldn't tell you a damn thing about 'em beyond that.

Vanessa -- If your family has historically practiced Roman Catholicism (quite likely in Colombia), you should be able to trace farther back into your family tree by examining various local churches' records of the weddings and baptisms held there (or off-site but by their priest). Since you think your family didn't move around much, it may be quite easy for you because many of the records may be in churches that are close together.

15:37 In 1955, Marty was able to improvise a skateboard for use on paved roads to outwit a Young Biff Tannen who subsequently ended up crashing his car and all his lackeys into a manure truck. In 2015, Marty was able to figure out how to use a _hoverboard_ to outwit Biff's grandson, _Griff_ Tannen, who subsequently crashed his whole _gang_ into a stained-glass _window._ But this is _1885._ There is no pavement. There is no equivalent to the skateboard. Biff's great-grandfather, Buford Tannen is out for blood and Marty's in serious need of help. 16:41 Fortunately, here it is.

What's REA;LLY fun about BTTF is that it plays with the butterfly effect and instead of going: _"One tiny change in the past could COMPLETELY ALTER THE FUTURE!!!"_ are like, Nah lol. Sure BIG things WILL cause BIG changes like the obvious of offing baby Adolf. That would have a MASSIVE change for the future, but merely like running over a pine tree, the worse that's going to happen is a minor name change in the future.

There's many problems with these movies.. here's one. The ravine or whatever is named after Clara because her stagecoach crashed into it. But also Doc sent a letter saying he is in love with Clara before Marty even goes back. So.. how can the ravine be named after Clara while at the same time Doc had to have met her to write that letter.
@blackswanstudios6632
@blackswanstudios6632 Жыл бұрын
No. Maybe the "many problems" is because you don't quite understand the timelines, at least in this case you're not clear on what is happening. And it's a little complex. But Clayton Ravine has that name in the minds of Marty and Doc. That is because the Marty who talks about Clayton Ravine has memories from timelines that were not subject to actions of a "1885 Doc" in any way minus one night of Marty's life. In the life of Marty, he has only had a single night (sleeping with his feet on the hoverboard in 1955) where the ravine was NOT called "Clayton Ravine", so of course he would be unaware of that change. The altered timeline and all the changes Doc in the old west may have caused only happened the night before, so they not part of Marty's memories or his past as he has lived his whole life, minus that single night, without Doc being in 1885. That is how the timeline dynamic works. Its consistent with for instance how Marty goes back to the future, back to 1985 at the end of the first movie, and he has no memories of his family being completely different in this new timeline. Memories are not automatically updated if you haven't seen these changes. I see the same lack of understanding sometimes when people see Goldie, in the first one go "Mayor! Now THATS a good idea", assuming that Marty is the one who inspired him to be mayor. No. Goldie has that reaction because his brain naturally gravitates toward the idea, which is why he became mayor and would have become mayor anyway. Same way when Loraine goes "Marty, that's such a nice name,", that is not Marty inspiring his mom to eventually call him Marty - that makes no sense, she would have done that anyway, it just shows us that she likes the name Marty which makes perfect sense. In other words, events unfold and timelines change AS we see it. If someone goes back to the past, that doesn't mean that the characters we've already seen should have known about these changes just because they were in ahead chronologically. That past had not been changed at THAT point.

Yee haw 🏜️ 🚘🔥 Aces high reaction Vanessa , another fantastic franchise blazing a trail into the sunset. I've always had a fondness growing up with these movies & as a fan of westerns with Clint Eastwood it's a winning combination for me. Marty & Doc's loyalty for one another works so well no matter what haphazard situation they find themselves in. There so talented how they play all the different members of their families, it crack me up whenever I see Doc's crazy expressions ,where does find all that energy. So many memorable & hilarious scenes, the frisbee with the hat shot off , the moonwalk with the silly pink costume & one liners , I also like how they cross over stuff like the hoverboard & improvise what they've learned from different times just what you'll do if you had a time machine. The romance between Doc & Clara was sweet & surprising & made the movie that much better, I never really understood why Marty's girlfriend tended to be left on the sidelines & didn't have a bigger part like she was just getting in the way. The big finale with the dramatic music had be on the edge of my seat, so awesome just making it in the nick of time rescuing each other as the locomotive 🚂 goes over the ravine. As sad as it was to see the delorean being destroyed, their adventures couldn't have gone on forever, all exciting stories have to have a memorable ending!!! Just like you said please don't remake it , your never recapture the magic of the original. Thanks V, don't worry about having any regrets from the past, let it go,we've all been there & wiser for it , make the best of the here & now with gratitude for the blessings you do have in life. If you do watch any westerns in the future, don't forget your cowgal hat to go with your beautiful flowery top. Here's some Easter eggs maybe you'll missed: Legendary Cinematographer 'Dean Cundey' who did all 3 movies, horrors Halloween & the Thing , Jurassic park & who Framed Roger rabbit took Doc & Marty's picture by the Clock. ZZ Top played " double back" for the soundtrack & happened to be driving by the set late at night & got a part in it. When Marty's steps pass the drive in there's posters including Tarantula that Eastwood was starting out his career in, During the moonwalk scene, Michael Winslow of police academy fame did the sound effects. Also in the saloon all the 'old timers ' were played by character actors from 100's of westerns including Pat Buttram a sidekick for Gene Autry the singing cowboy & Harry Carey Jr son of his legendary silent star farther. Doc's bandana was made from the same shirt as part 2 & is probably related to Von Braun the infamous rocket engineer. When Marty was shot by mad dog tannan, the metal plate idea was from the final duel in 'A fistful of dollars ' The final scenes with marty & Jennifer in the truck speeding in reverse, it was flea from the red hot chili peppers who challenged them. 🤗 💖 🎬 🤟 "Take me away I don't mind You better promise me I'll be back in Time" ⌚▶️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKi4h5ewm9dnj9Esi=Z-jVkWQtpPTxnpBh kzbin.info/www/bejne/goPThWWApZ2DnKssi=cSEWpGROWEnUdF1k
