Since Clara was meant to fall into the ravine, but didn't, then the longer she stays in that time, the greater the possibility that she could affect events that could change history. So bringing Clara to 1985 would likely prevent that from happening.

Mary Steenburgen (Clara) starred in another time travel movie ten years before BTTF3. Time After Time (1979) is a science-fiction thriller that I would love to see you react to. Doc should have been willing to take Clara to the future because leaving her alive in 1885 (when she was supposed to be dead) could really mess up the time line.

En 1985 días después de su estreno la fui a ver 5 veces al cine. Thanks for taking in the whole series! I've been looking forward to this reaction from you. I'm sure it's strange to hear all the unique insults in this film. "Yellow" might have been the most confusing for you. It's short for "yellow-bellied", which is another way of saying 'coward'. No one's sure where the phrase came from. It's a very old-fashioned way of insulting someone, but just about everyone in North America still knows what it means.

The set-ups of each character's storyline was well done. Marty overcoming his fear and standing up as an man was just as important as trying to get home. Doc Brown having his own story and his own grown in more than science was cool too. I played the video games on the 8-bit NES and 16-bit Sega Genesis. Very complicated to play and full of craziness. There was an animated series that debuted months after Part 3 came out. It ran for 2 seasons (26 episodes) between 2 networks. About the adventures of Marty, Einstein, ELB with his wife and kids. Both vehicles, the Delorean & the train were featured. A couple of castmembers from the films were involved as voices, Thomas F. Wilson reprised as Tannen characters (obviously) & Mary Steenburgen reprised her role as Clara. Universal Studios opened the BTTF ride afterwards in Hollywood and Orlando, Florida. All of this from one of the greatest trilogies ever. Glad to have witnessed this when I did.

If you think about it, how could Doc build another time machine? The technology was extremely primitive back then. The Edison light bulb was only patented in 1880, five years earlier. The only thing I've ever heard is that the Doc used the parts from the Hoverboard to design another time machine.

Hi again Vanessa!🙂This was not the greatest time in American history. This is 20 years after the Civil War between the North and the South. Also, the military stole most of the land that belonged to the Native Americans in this time period. In recent years they would be given areas of land that they would use to build gambling casinos. It sounds strange, but it is true. Again, you look lovely in that outfit!🙂I think you missed the sign that says "Eastwood Ravine" when Marty returns to 1985. They did get Clint Eastwood's permission to use his name in this film. They didn't "steal" it. They traded for it or fought over it and the victor claimed the spoils. The same things the natives did when they coveted another tribe's lands.

When you give something in exchange that is in no way as valuable as what you are getting, you are stealing. The Native Americans were given land for a reason. You can dress it up any way you want, but they were robbed, plain and simple.

Yellow is an old-fashioned term for chicken or coward. I first heard it in a movie from the late 70s, Popeye. It's not necessarily true that Marty has fully learned not to be provoked. But at least he never got into that accident, so he still has his music career head of him -- unless the universe keeps nagging at him until he gets into a similar accident later. He wasn't fired, probably because he never worked for that company.

5:35 "Wait a minute. Doc, what is wrong with my future?" Marty, do the math. You lose control when someone else calls you a name. Maybe it's "chicken." Maybe it's "yellah." It doesn't matter. The Doc is telling you that this tendency is going to get you in serious _trouble_ one day, but is this really a _surprise?_ You lose control and it opens you up to manipulation. Now if _you're_ not in control of your actions, someone else _is._ _Maybe_ this other person has your best interests at heart, but is that _really_ something you want to hope for?

They obviously couldn't destroy the real 19th century steam train they were using for the movie, so they built a very large functioning scale model to film crashing into the ravine.

as far as why she slapped him you notice doc wasn't back in the morning. I'm not sure they were implying they stayed up talking all night. that line about taking advantage of her. it seemed to her he swept her off her feet, slept with her, then wanted to leave. also explains her leaving town. someone in town may have noticed and that would have destroyed her reputation, got her fired as a schoolteacher, and it would have been unlikely for her to find a way to support herself in that town except for prostitution if someone did find out

Thank you. In that first scene with Mad Dog in part 1 of your reaction, the urn that pops up when Marty jumps on the loose floorboard is a cuspidor, also known as a spittoon. And since it's in an Old West saloon, most of what it contains is not just spit but also tobacco juice. 7-ELEVEN is a chain of convenience stores. Back in the 1980s, the stores would've had mechanical or video arcade shooting games in them. Chicken, yellow, gutless... are all slang for the same thing. The real Clint Eastwood was shown using a stove door as a bulletproof vest in the movie that Biff was watching in the hot tub scene in alternate 1985. Marty saw it too, when he went in to confront Biff about the sports almanac. So, Marty copied the idea. When Marty first steps out of the drive-in theater bathroom in those silly unrealistic Western clothes (they look more like something Buffalo Bob would've worn on "Howdy Doody Time") and says "Clint Eastwood never wore anything like this," there's an extra inside joke there. The posters on the wall are for two movies that Eastwood had bit parts in, at the beginning of his career. And you're right... those are supposed to be atoms on Marty's shirt.

I know people are disappointed that we never got the flying cars that were predicted in BTTF2 but I like to think it never came about because of the meddling of events by Doc and Marty. You know "The Butterfly Effect".

"Yellow" was an outdated euphemism for cowardly (much like "chicken" became). Would've likely been an insult derived from anti-asian sentiment of the time period (many Chinese workers came to help build the railroads). Just guessing!
