Round2 is doing a great job with bringing out old kits that we all thought would not be seen again. My only gripe would be with their Craftsman series curbside kits, the price point is a bit high on them. My opinion & I'm sticking to it. lol

I wish there was some way that the 65 Olds could be brought back to a stock form. Thankfully the MustangII can be built stock. I'm with you on the race trailers, too. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm with you.on that. But I do not think that will happen. The AMT of the 60s retooled those molds to make this Modified Stocker kit. They did that to a few other annual kits.

Yeah, I'd love that Mustang II kit. I drive a semi and I have a couple of newer rigs that need trailers. I'd like to see someone like Moebius release a 53' dry van or reefer trailer. I have their 48' flatbed trailer and it'll be a great build when I get to it.

Round2 has done SO-MUCH for the car modeling community in terms of making these older issues available at a fair price. Now if we could just make those criticizing these kits to understand that some of them date back to the 1960s and the hi-tech manufacturing technology we have today did not exist. Not a day passes that someone isn't moaning & groaning about that. As our host states, we're modelers, and a few hiccups in a kit is to be expected - live with it! I'll take all of these cool reissues I can get, they're what got me to return to the hobby a few years ago!

10:29 For that ‘65 Olds 88 Modified Stocker: I really hope that Round2 continues to open up the sprues to include long deleted parts from the old 1965 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 annual kit that this kit was derived from. I’m really wanting the stock Starfire wheel covers and COMPLETE blower intake system.

I like this video. I had JUST watched the new Autoworld video itself. Fast forwarded to just the model car stuff as you did. Then next video in my feed was yours reviewing what I had just watched. Interesting commentary. Note that the flat top AWB Olds is a Cutlass mid-size like the 64 Cutlass promo style no engine you referred to. BUT!! The Modified Stocker is a full size 88. A 62 Pontiac would be a better source for frame and floor with PARTS from a 71 Monte Carlo to make a more accurate Saturday nite short track car. Most wheels and tires coming from 3D guys are "dub" large diameter rims. Since most building 50s, 60s and 70s model cars, as you point out, are us older guys who were alive then, it would make good sense for some 3D guys to make a broader range of 15" wheels and tires. Bigger street tires, medium size drag slicks, etc. The kit companies are mostly producing skinny late 50s pie crust slicks and HUGE 15" wide AA/FC- AA/FD slicks. And era correct fronts are few and far between too.

Cool kits definitely going to pick up the mustang 2 kit, I'm very excited about getting the 72 Chevelle slasher kit, I would like to see AMT bring back the GMC stepside kit, and revell bring back some of the pro stock kits

I built the original 64 Olds F-85! Cool. I built the Time Machine 65 Chevelle and the 63 Chevy-2 version, back in the 60's, as well. My local Hobby Lobby has a lot of the old kits.

I'm glad they're bringing back the Mustang II kit even though I prefer the MPC. BTW Luka, the MPC also o has those bumper inserts in chrome. I have most of the AMT. MPC and the Revell Monroe Handler. I'm a big fan of these cars. I wish they would bring back the MPC Cobra II kit. If that's the parts kit you'll be producing, I'll be wanting some. Will it be to fit the AMT or a repop of the MPC ones, because they are slightly different. The rear spoiler and Cobra grille don't fit the AMT without modifications. I have some kits from Missing Link.

The Hell drivers mustang II is based on the fire fighter kit. I have a few and built a few. EDIT: It's a MPC kit

No it's the AMT. It was originally released in 1974. The Firefighter kit is an MPC and it is based on the old Dyno Don Nicholson kit. I have both AMT and MPC kits and I have extensively compared them.

I'm probably going to get slammed for this but here goes. As much as I like the "Old School" box art ('cause I am old school) I'm wondering if they should be updating the box art to interest the younger crowd? Also adding a parts tree with big inch wheels and tires and maybe some current front seats would draw in the newer modelers. Just my .02 cents.

That was tried in the past. And the sales did not do well. There are not a large amount of young builders that want to build the old cars. The box are is directed to us older builders tastes. Because we are the ones buying thee kits. But when you see thier kits of modern cars. They do not do the retro look. Kids are not into cars. They are buy the heck out of Gundam. And that's great. As long as they are building models. Who cares what the subject is.

Hey Luca cee, I'm a real big NHRA fan and I can't wait until salvinos jr models releases these newer 2024 funny car models of John force racing Camaro SS, Ron Capps hot snake Napa Toyota GR supra funny car and Alexis de joria bandero Toyota GR supra funny car and J R todd DLR Toyota GR supra funny car. Jim Rodgers told me to look for the NHRA funny car models release in summer 2025 speaking of older NHRA pro stocks by model king I was on the web and found mock up models of billy the kid Dodge dart, Bill bagwell duster among other cars

Nothing wrong with nostalgia, but can someone get us up to date? 3D printers, Salvinos and MOEBIUS are trying to move forward. The Japanese mfgs. are mainly putting out curbside. Tamiya seems to be focusing on R/C as their cash cow. Will any major mfgs. ever invest in a project like the 80's Monogram competition cars again, and will anyone buy them?
