If we want to become a destination club, we need to show up. Both players onfield and fans in the stands. Let’s make a statement by showing up in force for our first home game v Geelong, we’ve had great wins in that fixture 3 years in a row. Bulldogs game in round 6 is Easter Sunday night, let’s pack it and make it a marquee game. We’ve done well in our home games at the G the last couple of years, need it to continue to get more in the future. 80k minimum.

The draw from hell once again. A total of 7 interstate games in which 3 of those being in Adelaide and throw in a trip down to GMHBA Stadium. Rounds 4 to 9 are going to be a massive test.

No games in QLD, Melbourne and GWS games are both neutral venues, and all our Adelaide games being close together gives us a good chance. Away games being bookended gives us a good chance. It's a pretty reasonable fixture all things considered.

Brutal opening 5 games but on a positive we only play Port Adelaide once and our second half of the season is pretty good. First half will give us a very good indication where we are at. Looking forward to round 3 against Richmond, gonna take my son to his very first AFL game

Idk why everyone is complaining, we finished in middle group of the comp and got a fixture that resembles that… we have 0 5 day breaks a couple 6 day breaks and the rest are 7 day breaks or more… I’m a mad saints fan and I’m not bothered by this. Yes we have a tough month in the multiple visits to Adelaide but suck it up we play 13 home games and many more at the mcg

Rd6-Rd8 are three 6 day breaks in a row, but all in Melbourne. Yes, we play the two Adelaide and WA teams away, but Brisbane only once at home and Sydney only once, also at home. 12 games before a bye is challenging. I do think all teams playing round 0 have an advantage as presumably they will have two byes during the remainder of the season in an era where managing players is a thing. The Sunday night game v Bulldogs Rd6 is Easter, so a late game might help with attendance as we rock up full of chocolate eggs, or maybe we don’t rock up at all depending on the start. Go, Saints!

No big deal Jake, and quite frankly I don't mind that the team will be under the pump to win games early in the season, it will give us a very good guide on their capacity to be up there with the big guns in the comp. Don't forget that every other team will be challenged to start the season strongly. We shouldn't forget that in 2024 the Lions started the year 2-5 after 7 rounds and were written off, yet went on to become premiers!!

I didn’t mind the first 5 rounds when I saw them. We’ll get v familiar with Adelaide, it will be like a team bonding mission. Adelaide r1 v tough though. Important.. would really put us in a good place psychologically if we win that. And then the rest of the season we pretty much live at Marvel lol. Not sure we neeed to make finals.. we will still be fairly..?🤞🏼🙏🏻🤞🏼

At least we get an earlier bye round next year. It was annoying that just about every club in opening round had 2 byes before we and a few other clubs had their 1 and only bye. I don’t mind the draw. Surprised we don’t get the hawks twice tho.

Crikey, I think it's a good draw, 5 marvel games in the first 8 games, 3 marvel and 1 MCG game (against Richmond) in the last 5 games. The play twice games seems balanced and who knows whether any side is any good next year! If we are any good we have nothing to complain about. Can't wait to get out there and win, bring it on!

At least we double up with 1 bottom side in Richmond. I expect Freemantle to be top 4 though, bulldogs, gws and geelong were finalists so I'd call it a hard fixture. Harder than this year imo. I think easiest for us is R20-R23. Would've been nice to play collingwood or Essendon at the mcg too

I don’t think it’s that terrible a fixture. At the end of the day, if we’re a good enough side we play finals. The competition is that close that every game is a hard game. We won’t get prime time slots because for a good stretch of last season, we were a terrible side to watch from a neutral perspective. If we take the game on like we did in the last part of the year, we’ll be a lot more enjoyable to watch. And a lot more competitive. As long as we don’t revert to that dour, defensive football. It’s a terrible style of football to watch and it doesn’t win games. Have a look at what the Hawks were able to achieve after round 5 playing exciting fast moving footy. And they’ve been rewarded with not only the wins, but prime time slots next year. We’re capable enough and have the personal to play exciting Saints football. I just hope we’re coached to play that way and let our runners and good users of the ball to take the game on.

Brutal! Predict to be 6-6 heading into the bye. The 6 weeks after the bye is putrid - would need to pinch a cpl somehow. Absolutely must win the last 5 games in a row - hope GWS have top 4 (or top 2) locked up by the last round & have nothing to play for/dodging injury before finals. Just hope we play a game style that is exciting for fans & makes Free Agents think they'd like to play for the mighty Red, White & Black! 🔴⚪⚫

@ St Kilda travel the most of any vic club and more miles than Brisbane, Adelaide, Port and Sydney. They play Adelaide and Port both away, having only played them at home 10 times in the last 16 years. Whilst playing these teams away 29 times over that period.
