Popping in from the Lavendaire Lifestyle Community! Thank you so much for this video and including the 'mistakes'. I like to think of it as just following your thought process :) I took a semester of Japanese in college, almost 6 years ago now. I've always wanted to self-study and learn more, but I've decided to focus on other areas of life first. I could tell how hard you were working to find the right words and conjugations. You definitely have the knowledge and understanding in you, and it's inspiring! I actually tried to close my eyes and understand what you were saying, and I'm happy to say I could pick up bits and pieces like "didn't write" and "Thursday" lol. You're doing great! Keep it up :)

Thanks so much Alice! :D I'm so glad you could pick out some things without reading my subtitles! It can be quite overwhelming to try to self study but I've found that the hardest part is starting, and I actually love studying Japanese once I start. It's easy to just find more and more and more things I want to know! Also, it's difficult but I'm trying to find peace with the errors that are an inevitable part of learning the language. :)

also, I absolutely loved the concept of this video! it is brilliant in that it shows we are all trying! we will all eventually make mistakes and it's ok! We can see how hard you're trying and how much you are succeeding in getting a message through! Watching you develop your sentences is almost like as if you were practicing a new song on the piano or guitar: progress is slow sometimes but the more you go through the whole song over and over again, the closer you are to mastering it! Thank you for this Kimmy, it inspired me so much I might eventually make a video like that with my real Japanese level! best wishes
