Still feeling pressured to be a rebellious teen tho ✌🏻✨👄💅

@sweeze what I did was I waited till 1:00 AM when everyone was asleep and I planned out beforehand which way out would be the quietest, which was the basement door. I have a theory that coming-of-age teen movies where teenagers live out these romanticized events (i.e. sneaking out, getting a piercing, dying their hair) is more fitting for young adults. I'm going through the same thing of entering my twenties and feeling like I didn't really get to live out my "teen experience", but I think it was always meant to happen in my twenties. Our coming-of-age movie just so happens to be taking place in our twenties and in the middle of a pandemic. I'd bet my left foot that this is going to be the premise of a coming-of-age movie someday in the future. We're doing what YA contemporary novels wish they could do.

I love this. Also same, I literally didn't start having fun until I turned 18, during the second half on my senior year of high school when I got a car and a job. I think a big reason why I was such a miserable little kid before then was because I was growing up in the suburbs and had absolutely no freedom or independence. If you're still in high school, I promise every year gets better. And don't forget that milestones are fake

I was an anti-social teen in a small town, so my life (and coming of age glo up montage) didn't actually start until I turned 21. that's when the shopping sprees, parties, 3am waffle house runs started. idk im 23 now, moved out, out of school, and everything is just way better. First car at 19, first apartment at 20, first club night at 21, first girlfriend at 22. Movies show people doing all this when they turn like, 16. I had to get a job in healthcare to realize how young i actually am. Happy 20th! This video was super cathartic for me, and the bleached hair looks really good!

I'm turning 30 this year and your content is still so relatable. The time between twenty and thirty feels like what I imagined the second half of my teenage years would be like. In austria we are legal adults turning 18, so we had all the freedom and responsibility, but were still pretty insecure and were not fully set in our believes.

as a very newly 16 year old who has never had any of the high school movie things, thank you. i feel like the pandemic hit just as I was getting to the age where things like first kisses and parties and relationships and sneaking out, etc. it's really reassuring to know that the 20s are better, and it's not just suffering through college in order to prep for a dead end job.

the end kind of hit me man? I'm turning 20 this year too, and in a way it's going to kind of be a relief, as I'm the youngest in my workplace and looking realistically for a full time position and being 19 still feels "teenager". But in the same time I'm. not gonna be a teen anymore and I also didn't have the idealistic teenage life. And you're right about not being able to do stuff as a teen - I didn't drive until I was 17 and now i have my own car and I can go places and do that kind of stuff. It felt nice to hear someone else say that not everyone did that stuff when they were teens and just because you're older doesn't mean you can't do it.
