My Remote Pairing Issues with Boosted Board (Support Case)

Sorry for the misleading title - this video is directed to Boosted, Inc. (formerly Boosted Boards) support team...the company is no longer in business as of April 2020.
In the video, you will see various and numerous attempts to get the 2nd generation remote to pair with the Boost Board v2 Dual+ XR/SR electric skateboard. Unfortunately the remote does not pair, hopefully support has a working solution or will repair the board.
Oddly enough, the Board pairs with the Boosted and Ride app without any issues. My remote can pair with other boards, but no other remotes will.

Forgot to provide an update to this issue: Upon sending this video to Boosted Board support, they were highly responsive and fixed my board in a matter of a few days. Since I was local, I ended up dropping my board off and picking it up after repairs. Will upload the invoice and post it in the video description. Talked to support and found out that one of the receiver that connects to the remote controller ended up breaking (no idea how), but the receiver for the mobile app was fine. Boosted uses 2 different receivers for their remote control and for their mobile app.

Is this receiver in the board or the remote? would an other remote help is what im asking??

Thanks for your vidéo, helped me understand I had the exact same problem. I went through the whole process just like you did and nothing worked. I swapped the esc and problem was gone!

For anyone else who may have the same issue: Try resetting the board. I had the exact same symptoms as shown in the video. Remote would not connect to the board, but phone did connect just fine to the board via the app. Mobile phone could also connect to the remote itself (not that it had any function, it just stopped beeping and the blue led remained on (not blinking)). I tried to reset the board. I actually did it twice because I did not pay attention. How to: 1. Connect the charger tothe board. 2. Hold the power button on for approximately 8 seconds. 3. Wait. The led on the board should be orange/red-ish and will remain like that for a few minutes. 4. Once it turns green again (as to indicate charging), try powering the board on and connect the remote. If you google around you will probably find a video of it. My board had been out of use for more than a year because of this issue. It was within warranty when it happened and I was invited by Boosted to send it in for repair under warranty, but because I had thrown away the box I never shipped it (too lazy to find another suitable box). Now it works like a charm and I went out for a ride in the night. I feel like a beginner again so I look forward to waking up in the morning and going for a ride :) Hopefully I will not have any further issues.

I can second this, thank you so much. I came home from a ride and tried connecting it, nothing worked. I plugged in the charger to the board and held the power button for about 10 seconds, then the lights turned off for about 2 seconds and turned back on. Then i unplugged the charger, turned on the board and the remote, put them both into pairing mode and they connected right away

@@marcusbannon3036 did you try to connect your phone to the remote (through bluetooth device list, not boosted app).. not that i think it helps, but i did that before resetting the board. I also resetted the board twice or thrice, cant remember. Hope you get it fixed 💗 mine still works great one year after this bug and then fixing it. The reset itself is done as described above. Do you have the 'newest' firmware? Maybe that has something to do with it. Update through the boosted app if that is still possible after boosted going bankrupt

Hey man I’m having the same trouble right now and all the remotes and ESC are very expensive and overpriced due to boosted going out of business. How would I know if it’s my controller or my ESC?

the 1 blue tooth port is burn out, bad, or just defective that's what needs to be un soldered and replaced in the esc to pair

Yes, that seems correct, however getting the replacement module would be difficult esp that the firmware is proprietary. It’s easier to replace the entire unit, which they ended up doing so.
