I made the trip to Greensboro as well. Sting coming out to Metallica with his sons wearing his old gear was everything. So happy that Sting was able to end his career on his terms exactly how he wanted.

Sting in my book one of if not the greatest professional ever. He is retiring in his mid sixties and still preforming at level most professional wrestlers hope to be preforming at when they are in their mid to late thirties. Seriously how many other professional wrestlers have wrestled for over 38 years and still doing like he has been doing in. Thank You Sting!

Thank you Jordan for recording and posting this match. As someone on a fixed income getting to see this wouldn't have happened otherwise. I have been blessed to have seen the start of Stings career and so many of his milestones so getting to see his last match makes me smile and cry at the same time. I fell for Sting as a teen, embraced him as an adult and will love him always. Thank you Sting for always having us in your life and career.

Thank you for posting this! What a final match, the one he deserved. Such an emotional ride. Have to give some respect to the young bucks, they took everything and Even when throwing Sting around they never put him in danger of real injury for this match.

Thanks so much for posting this, Jordan. I’ve seen a fair number of ‘final matches’, but I can’t think of a single wrestler who deserves such an ovation as much as the Stinger. A genuinely good human being. On another note: I’ve always loved Ric Flair. But now every time I see him I can’t help think something. I’ve had more than my fair share of experience with scar tissue. Every time I see him take a bump, even a relatively mild bump, I swear I think I’m going to see his belly split open & him just eviscerate on the canvas. Once again - Thanks for doing this, Jordan 👍🏼

I thought I saw you before the matches started but I wasn't sure. This was one hell of an emotional night. I haven't been interested much in wrestling as of late. I feel the wrestling I love is dead, but I couldn't miss this one night. Really didn't care about any match other than this one so I wandered around talking to several legends. It was great talking Lex and Magnum again after so many years and FINALLY getting to meet Ricky living up to his reputation of being one of the nicest guys in wrestling. Watching it again at home I see that there were several points where the match itself was really sloppy. I don't think anybody in that arena gave a damn or will give one in the future. I watched Sting's TV debut with JCP/WCW from my living room in 1987. I've been a fan ever since. Now here we are, both old men. Both feeling the aches and pains of life well lived and here he is working like it was 40 years ago. THIS is the way an Icon SHOULD go out. Darby, let's give him some credit too. This kid is amazing. He has the potential to be at Sting's level later in life. But as Ric Flair has told him, he needs to throttle down a bit to get there. These bumps he's taking now will add up in a few years and I don't want to see his talent wasted by having his career cut short when this all catches up to him. 100% a night I will never forget.

Thank you Jordan for bringing this to those of us that couldn't catch the PPV otherwise. It is appreciated. Now on to the comment that needs to be made. I never thought I'd see Sting retire, I've been a fan since Surfer Sting, was rooting and hoping he'd join the Wolf Pac and then not follow them when they rejoined the Black and White. I fell out of touch when he went to TNA though I am intrigued by Sting's Joker phase, and was a fan all the way through his AEW stint, even though I rarely got to watch any of his matches. (Yes I was hoping he'd pair up with Darby. They just work so well and he needs someone to reign in his Jeff Hardyesque tendencies. Okay that last part didn't quite work like I hoped it would.) Sting, you had a brilliant career and brought joy to plenty of fans of all ages. I hope your retirement brings you as much joy as you have brought us. Love you man and Retire In Peace.

Thank you Sting 🦂 it really was a fun match to watch. The one thing I would’ve left out and Eric Bischoff pointed it out on a live edition of 83 Weeks after the show was the high spot of Darby off the ladder and into a pane of glass. That part didn’t add to the match
@DazewithJordantheLion
@DazewithJordantheLion 7 ай бұрын
I completely disagree. I loved the spot off the ladder into the glass. Katy and I talked about it several times in the night after.. plus, I whole-heartedly find eric bischoff to be an idiot that lucked into the best job of his life.. his opinions on wrestling are exactly what I hate about wrestling

I want to compliment All Elite Wrestling for giving Sting the retirement match that he deserved. It was done with dignity and respect for Steve Borden and the character of Sting. I first saw Sting with Warrior when they came to Memphis as the Bladerunners. Growing up in Memphis and watching every Saturday morning and going to the Mid South Coliseum on Monday nights was awesome. He'll end up driving the school bus for this grandkids. God bless ya, Steve. Farewell to The Legend and THE ICON 💗💗💗💯✌
