Casually flies 800km the first flight, reviews the whole glider on the way, sets flaps into landing position and retracts landing gear before a „tight final glide“ just to show them, still is calm as hell and gets some epic cinematic sunset air to air shots - badass Stefan!🔥

I love your videos. It’s good that you explain and talk and not just boring footage with nothing happening. I didn’t know LS-3 is such good performer. 800 km, it’s the pilot too of course - maybe not so much the glider 😂. I don’t know much, but I thought ASW-29 would be first choice, but maybe your ASW cannot be reduced to 15m? For the competition?

I had the LS3 with full length flaperons. Loved it ! There is a simple mod which is large Mylar farings at the trailing wing root greatly decreasing drag at wing/fuselage junction. Most comfortable glider I’ve flown

I must be missing part of the plot ..... Your aim is to compete in the World Champs And you're chosing an LS3 which is a really old model rather than even say an LS 4 which is still kind of old. Why? (It clearly does fly pretty well but I wouldn't think it would have quite the 'edge' to compet at that level)?
@SteFly4 жыл бұрын
The "club class" are older gliders with 15 m wingspan. Every glider has a handicap factor and you can choose the one you prefer. The LS4 is a good glider but does not have flaps. For tactical and fun reasons I prefer to fly a glider with flaps at the WGC. And my teampartner loves LS3 😁
@soaruk36974 жыл бұрын
@@SteFly ... Glasflugel 304 has best handicap in the crazy new IGC handicaps - pity no one will be winning with cheaper gliders i.e. Libelle and Cirrus anymore .... the rich white European boys controlling IGC want to get rid of poorer pilots flying competitions......they will eventually kill off the sport with the stupid way competition gliding is going.
