The Tesla would work with a 1967 cutlass or 1966 Buick Riviera really well. Both should be on the cheaper side of classic muscle, but still fairly easy to get a hold of. On the longer end a 1969 Ford Torino Cobra would look sick next to your swapped Mustang.

@@c.a.mcneil7599 You don't know the difference between waist and waste. Nothing is wasted if someone builds it, and enjoys it. Just because something isn't targeted towards you, doesn't make it any less interesting or cool. It just means it isn't for you. I'd kill to build a 71 Satellite with a 6.2L V8 dodge crate engine, but that idea doesn't appeal to everyone. We all have different tastes. Electric cars have mechanical parts so saying they aren't factually mechanical is weird.

This Lambo is a perfect restomod candidate, you can do manual conversion just like driftworks from UK and make your own panels with help from other KZbinrs who own Murcis. With the engine it would be interesting to get one of the KZbin machine shops involved like Jim’s automotive machine shop and get head ported and a general refresh. Then do a complete refresh of electronics on the dash.

I loved my 1971 Mustang convertible when I had it in the 80s/90s. 109" wheelbase, 75" width. They could fit a 460, and I had N50-14s, 12.5" tread width and large bubble sidewalls tucked INSIDE the stock rear wheel wells just by using a 1970 rear which was 2" narrower. I had 295/50-15s fit inside the front fenders with no mods and no rubbing. They can take some SERIOUS tire size. And if you went convertible, the Tesla skate would likely be a lot stiffer than the Mustang unibody. Since they're the "unwanted" early Mustangs, getting one out there might be pretty cheap, especially if you find one with floor rot.

If you want to build really cool, which seems to be the case, GM 2nd Gen A-Body cars are 112" wheelbase. Hide a 1/2" in front and 1/2" in back. It is a badass body style and is often made into a hotrod. How about you make one drive like a REAL, silent hotrod. The wheelbase is very close and so is the body width. Make your own take on the Cybertruck with the model 3. But more b-is-for-build looking, and thus sporty. The reason I say this is the hood and bed length of a "truck" style build is easy to adjust length wise to the chassis as the "lines" are fairly flat. Thus they are (relatively) easy to shorten or lengthen by inserting sections from another doaner bed or whatever.

The other option is to build a custom chassis that you can transplant the Tesla power train/battery into that will also fit the Murcielago body... Lots of work but most likely doable... also if going down that road of a custom chassis build you could also redesign the batteries to make use of the huge space where the V12 use to live...

Toyota Century body on the Tesla frame. 🎤 ⬇️ Now that’s a comfy daily!! Also if you get the v12 model that’d give you another donor motor to another project, or just leave it on a pallet & cart it around between rental shops for the foreseeable future until you decide to sell it years later😆

I thought about the AMC Javelin. It's not a mainstream classic muscle car, so you can find them a bit cheaper. And the wheelbase and width isn't too far off from the Model 3's. You'd want to do a body kit to make it look sick. But that could be cool.

Really, a Jag XJ body on the Tesla would be cool. The LWB-version of the XJ-series has 112.75 inches wheelbase. I guess you can get an S3 car (rubber bumpers) for...hm...dirt cheap. plus you´d maybe had a Jag V12 additionally for something else ;)

IMHO series 1 and 2 XJs are far more interesting than series 3 and not necessarily more expensive… I would choose a series 2 lwb but with a series 1 « big grill » front. XJ is such an elegant and underestimated car… would be Uber cool to have one « Teslaed » !

What would be cool and unique is to import a Australian ute body and put it on the Tesla. Though not a preference since there are many cooler utes, I would suggest a Holden Commodore SS VE since the sedan was sold in the US so some parts would be easier to get. Also they came in a few performance models so there are quite a few interesting bodies that you can borrow bits from allowing for a better fit. Personally I'd like to see an Ford Falcon XD because it's profile reminds me of a cyber truck and would make a great base to riff on the idea.

I would find a 70-74 Challenger that the bottom is rotting away in a junkyard. The wheelbase is 110", close to the Tesla. They have a similar "box" area around the dash / door opening. I think that would be a great body swap. Since you are in Portland, head over to Graveyard Cars, they may have a body to use!

I think it would be cool to use the Tesla skateboard to bring to life a concept car or fantasy car that has never been physically created, or bring back a rare classic you'd like to see drive again like the Ford GT90. You have a relatively blank slate to work with, and you've been gaining experience fabricating parts from computer models like the Mustang bumper. I think you would excel at creating an original, replica, or mashup car similar to Axes: Garage's build process with their Volgatti. I can't wait to follow along with the build whatever you decide!

What if you move away from a sports car and look at a large Chrysler/Plymouth/dodge C-body convertible? For an example a 67 has a wheelbase of 124 inches. My 65 Polara as 121 inches. Tons of room for modifications. Sub frame car and can be easily modified. Would make an amazing cruiser and road trip car! Plus you can get very nice (fully restored) examples for under 20k.
