This is the party I used to beat Baldur's Gate 3 Honour Mode difficulty the second time around. I had a much easier time of it the second time and it's partially because of my swords bard/fighter multiclass.

Helmet of arcane acuity with swords bard makes any difficulty a cake walk!!! Even more effective when using two hand crossbows and arrows of multiple targets. Strange choices with the rest of the party haha I imagine the Bard got you through most of it. Did you see this as an optimised party or just for kicks? What's your view on an optimised party? Feeling like the swords Bard, TWF Bardadin, open hand monk and radiant orb Cleric is strong. The party compliments each other as Pally and Monk cause the damage, Bard is for CC and Cleric is for debuffing

The bard did the most damage for sure. The other builds were just me trying subclasses that I hadn't given a good go before and seeing how they do. It's honestly quite hard to disagree with your party. I used an open hand monk and a radiant orb cleric in my first run, although the cleric wasn't build purely for radiating orbs. Personally I'd switch out the bardadin for either a sorcerer or wizard because I like my arcane spells.

@@CasualVeteranGamer oooo that's an interesting view!!! I really like abjuration wizards and thought to change my cleric for abjuration wizard and never thought of changing the Bardadin for them. Think late game anything is strong though and thinking what the strongest builds are throughout the game. Any full spellcaster can be quite tough going early on due to spellslots on long rest. Think Abjuration wizard can work with Warlock so they get the spells on short rest and can use Armour of Shadows to replenish arcane ward without spellslots

Nice! One thing I ALWAYS forget to do is use summons. My last Honor run I kept reminding myself to summon some minions before each major boss battle and every single time I forgot. I didn't end up needing them anyway, but they might have made a couple of the fights go by just a bit faster. Like, I took down Raphael in 3 rounds, but I'm sure I could have done it in 2 if I had had one or two more creatures pummeling him while he was stuck in Hold Monster.

Love that helm. There are 3 in total that give arcane acuity. There's one that triggers on thunder damage, one on hit weapon attacks and one on fire damage. The Thunder damage one doesn't seem to work all that well, I was trying to make that one work.. Hat of Fire acuity is one I'm really interested in for a Sorcerer run though. Since it also increases spell attack roles. For my team I went all range. Didn't use Alert, although probably should have.

The thunder damage hat would pair nicely with a radiant orb build. Reverberation items would also be nice because they both inflict a condition, but also leads to more thunder damage.

Great content, love your videos...would you (or someone) give me a breakdown of how you got to 395 damage, because I just cannot figure it out. Things I've accounted for (I think) are: six attacks (haste + action surge + extra attack), sharpshooter (+10 per attack), one critical hit, doubled proficiency on damage roles, and the gloves that give +1d6 per attack. What am I missing here? Does slashing flourish let you hit the same enemy twice (so, effectively, 12 attacks?)

Do you have, or happen to know of any, videos that deal with all of those obscure items that you find and don't know what they're for? Such as....a cauldron I found has a bonus action? No idea what it does. Purple fluorite shards. Clueless. Nere's head after you turn it in. You can pick it back up so is there a reason? So much stuff. The poo scraper, friend shovel, nut cracker....the list goes on.

With any build that can make many attacks in a turn it will do very very well indeed!

Hat of fire acuity(act 2 or 3, drops from strange ox) is better cause you can cast upscaled scorching ray and get like insane amount, cause it gives stack for each instance of fire damage.

Currently in Act 2 on my 2nd playthrough with a Warlock/Paladin, who will also get 2 levels of Fighter starting @ Lvl 11. Strong build for Tactician, but losing 1 of his 3 attacks per turn on Honor wouldn't work. Plan on a Bard for my 3rd playthrough. Was leaning toward a dual wielding hand crossbow build. Curious how you would rate it compared to your build?

For me personally I recommend using the Titanstring bow for a sword bard. Since slashing flourish hits twice I try to maximize the damage per shot since it would only work with your main hand crossbow. Drinking giant str potions and using the titanstring bow with sharpshooter I’m hitting for 30+ a hit. One slashing flourish can hit for 60+ with no other buffs. I do that twice, action surge and can do it twice more. A consistent 240+ damage in one round which is I think more than the hand cross bow would deal even with the bonus offhand attacks. There’s even more to the build that makes it amazing that I could go into lol but that’s what I’m running currently. I’ve been tearing up Honor mode with it

@@bretthughes27 My levels are 2 fighter, 6 sword bard, 3 Gloomstalker ranger, and 1 war cleric 2 fighter for action surge, 6 sword bard for slashing flourishes and extra attack, 3 gloomstalker for initiative and first turn extra attack+1d8, and 1 war cleric for 3 charges that let you use an attack as a bonus action. First turn of combat can be 2 slashing flourishes, action surge for 2 more, get an extra attack+1d8 from gloomstalker, then get another extra attack from war priest charge. It’s all together like 10 attacks that can delete almost anything in the game. Plus if you can make an enemy vulnerable to piercing damage all the damage will be doubled

@@bretthughes27 I saw a guide on making a bard/fighter but I came up with splashing the gloomstalker and war cleric on my own. I’m a big fan of war cleric in general with just 1 level you can get an entire bonus attack for 3 rounds. I tried the amulet and it wasn’t as effective as I was thinking it would be. The target is only vulnerable until it takes damage so one shot sadly will take the vulnerability away. You effectively only get one attack at double damage

I fail to see how spell save dc is good for a swords bard? When you occasionally cast a control spell or use utility?

It is because Mystic scoundrel allows him to cast illusion/enchantment spells on a bonus action.
