Right! the sister is acting like a child that held onto a grudge, which OP paid for already, just to wait till its OP's wedding to get revenge... This is just sick... If this is her mindset then it wouldn't matter if it was a pregnancy announcement or not, she would have found some way to "ruin" OP's wedding to get her "revenge" as she calls it... Uninvite her because it sounds like she will disturb the wedding no matter what they do to foil her... I wouldn't take the chance... I left a marriage with a 2 year old, a newborn, a stroller, and a duffel bag. It was rough! But we are all okay now, and I'm definitely glad I did that. Because being homeless for over a year with 2 small children was still better than where I was. I also hadn't worked in almost 4 years and had no access to the money my spouse made. Sometimes you have to lose everything to become who you truly are.

Story 1. OP, GET A GOOD LAWYER!!!Divorce your husband, get as much money as you can (child support, emotional damages) and NEVER allow unsupervised visits. As your MIL covered up for him, she DOES NOT deserve to be the grandma to your children. Story 2. OP, include your sister pregnancy information in YOUR speach!!! That way she will have the announcement but you will be in control.
@pansprayers2 жыл бұрын
You mean, get a good attorney who understands that 'emotional damages' aren't a term used in family court, and do what they - not what Kalina who has no idea what Kalina is talking about - tells you to do? Unless you can prove that he did, in fact, apply for a second or third marriage licence, this isn't going to be enough grounds for you to demand supervised visits. And your insistence on playing hardball with the grandmother will only piss a judge off further. You can't have both pieces of advice hold true here.

Story 1: He isn't a great dad. He is a terrible role model and has two broken homes to take care of. I guess he is doing the bare minimum of being in his children's lives...but that's about it. I wouldn't want his sons to pick up on his cheating and lying behaviors. I hope, if he has a girls, that she would accept this treatment or play along in this.

Right. There’s no way he has time to be a fully involved parent for 2 different households while also traveling for work. He provides for them, but that’s it, especially if he went to the reunion 2 days after the birth of his child. I’m sure he’ll become less involved as they get older, especially if gets remarried and starts another family.

Mark, I hope that you can keep an eye OT for updates with that last story on the wedding. I would love to see how OPs sister justifies accepting that money from her and still feeling entitled to make her announcement at OPs wedding as "revenge". Sis wants revenge, she needs to go make her baby announcement at OPs ex boyfriends event and not her sisters.

Story 1: Advice Companies don't want to be associated with pseudo-polygamists; especially in upper management, like a VP. Offer him an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) in exchange for generous alimony. Courts generally will allow alimony if the husband is offering; just make sure that the NDA disappears if HE and only he tries to change the terms of the settlement.

I think announcing the announcement is perfect. Before the speeches start OP can make their own. "My sister has a big announcement and I know some people think it's bad form to do this at someone else's wedding. But I love my sister so much that I couldn't say no." Then walk over to sister and hand her the mike OP looks like a good sister and a saint to share their special day, all while taking away her sister's power
@NightcoreNewbie2 жыл бұрын
Story 1. I find it somewhat strange that friends of 20+ years didn't say something about the serial cheater earlier. They've known him for so long and barely decided to say anything about it only after OP found out herself. He's been cheating for years and those friends just stood by and let it happen. I think it's nice that they decided to help after OP after the divorce, but they could've saved OP so much heartache. At least OP got out of that relationship and living her best life.
@ineedhoez Жыл бұрын
Not their place. They were not her friends. Also, she knew he was cheater 7 months into her marriage. She chose to stay married.
