former aveda stylist here - just so everyone knows, thickening tonic can be used with air dried or heat styled hair to thicken strands. volumizing tonic, however, is heat activated so if you dont heat style it will not do anything for your hair.

I've said it before: you have my dream hair. But, I've noticed you use a bunch more products to get the results you want. Two questions: 1) how does this not weigh your curls down? Maybe because many of them are sprays. 2) I'm more of a two to three product girl. If you had to pick your top 3 for this routine, what would they be?
@JoyBeforeHer6 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! But girl I don’t use all of these at the same time! My hair would be rock hard LOL. I was just showing the different products I use on different days. Sorry I should’ve been more clear. I only use one at a time...2 tops

Thanks for the tips!💜 Wow, we have the same hair. No one in my family has the same texture of curls, so it's cool to see someone else with the same, and can relate. My mama was half Filipino and had straight hair, and thus, had NO IDEA what to do with my curls! The struggle has been REAL, girl!💯

I have a question: Do you HAVE to defuse your hair? What does defusing do? And finally: Does defusing have negatives to curly hair?
@graybassoon224 жыл бұрын
Yes. I have found that diffusing adds frizz to my hair, but that is just me. It is different for each different person
@hoiboiboihoi17084 жыл бұрын
1- you don’t have to do anything 2- just a way of drying hair. it helps add volume and sometimes definition. it’s basically an alternative to using a hair dryer bc the diffusing attachment stops the heat from being concentrated. 3- if you misuse it you can get frizz

Thanks for sharing what you do get all that volume in your hair. It looks so good. We definitely don't have the same hair texture, and I think I have most of the volume I can handle... but I will definitely check these products out. Also, the pick is a great idea.

Appreciate the tips, but you "love" six or seven products here, which makes it confusing -- and potentially very expensive -- for someone looking to take your advice. If you had to narrow the list down to two or three products (including styling creams/gels), which ones would you recommend to start? Thank you!

So far I like the Briogeo CoWash, but not their Curl Charisma line or the Rosarco line. Maybe I’ll get their volumizing spray. My hair is thick so I don’t really need volume. Curlsmith is great. Tried their leave-in oil cream and the soufflé. Very good!

This color looks different (redder) than what Hayley gave you. It looked blonder then. It's beautiful! :) Have you changed it since then?
@JoyBeforeHer6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! No we didn't change the color, it might be the lighting. But my hair does look lighter when it's summer time. So I guess in the winter it looks a little darker
@hipretty6 жыл бұрын
No I meant it looked blonder when hayley did it in your recent video...it's not grown out but it seemed redder. I have never colored so IDK if people tone between colors... I just thought you may have toned it it since then again. :) Love it! It is actually very similar to my natural color before I got sick, lost hair and it grew back in another (awful 😝) color!

Sydelle Williams beauty by zara (a UK webshop) has a lot of good products for curly hair, I live in Europe and buy from them. Give it a go and maybe you'll find some good ones there (I did, i love Curls Blueberry Bliss hair mask, I have 2c/3a fine low density hair and it doesn't weigh it down like other deep conditioning masks).

You"re beautiful and your volume is huge, but how many of these products are cruelty-free? Natural ingredients are all well and good, but are they kind to animals. That is most important to me. Think about how animals suffer just for beauty. It's a real shame!
