Nyah says her sister Marquisa isn't just a bully but she's HER bully. Marquisa has called Nyah out her name before and made comments about her weight but is there more to their upbringing? Their mother is in the audience, can Karamo get to the bottom of this family dynamic?

My sister is 24 and thinks I'm jealous of her hair. I haven't seen her hair since she was about 12. Idk. She hasn't spoken to me in years, but asked my mom to ask me to help her buy a PlayStation 5. My mom laughs every time my sister does something shady towards me. I stopped reaching out to my sister and my mom plays off that and says things like, "She just doesn't like how you talk to her mom." "She doesn't like funny people especially those who talks to her mom crazy". Like my mom encourages this because she has this preconceived notion that her relationship with her sister is rocky. My Aunty never admitted to there being a sibling rivalry. She said, "You know how your mom can be. She just.. a little crazy. Ima say it. We love her. I love my sister but you know." Aunty never went into much details as my mom ans whenever my mom goes into details, it's based on colorism and favoritism within our family. She said my Aunty was treated better because she's light skinned. My grandma's grandad was a white man, so those recessive genes just bounced around through us all. My sister is lighter than me. 🙄Go figure that my mom would try to separate us. All my passwords for over ten years was my sister's birthday and some other stuff. I had to go back and literally change my passwords from her birthday. 😢 I cried every time. Some passwords still have it. Now, I don't care anymore. I'm 🤏🏽this close to pretending I was adopted and my foster parents died in a fire with our family pictures. No cap. The division hurt but moving forward and surrounding myself with people who love me is healing.

Yeah . But the mother was herself a child woman when she got pregnant. So a kid had a kid . And projected all her stuff on to her kid . The eldest carries the shadow of the teen mom . All the angst . And now she pist cause she wants to pass that shadow (of her mum ) on to the next torch bearer of the angst and expects that she will be compensated for the childhood abuse and possible neglect of being forced into a parental role a donkey to carry her mums burdens (who was a/teen )herself and be the protective masculine . The eldest has made all the sacrifices when it was her time to be looked after . Soh . Teen pregnancy -absent father figure boom ... ! Bullshit on a platter.

It’s crazy how she’s taking care of everyone like she’s a parent, but they don’t respect her authority. They want her to carry the responsibilities without any expectations of them. Just in this brief clip it seems like the mom acts more like a sibling and the oldest sibling acts like a mom. I hope the oldest sibling gets counseling. This made me cry. They were all acting like she’s the bad guy when she’s actually been the backbone of the entire family and was required to take on adults responsibilities too young.

Tbh how you talk to people even your own blood says a lot about you, it’s not right and words do hurt. There is a such thing as verbal abuse. If anything he should pay her for that favor and then he would have every right to cut it off he wanted to. But they both need to heal first then try to mend the relationship later if they decide to. There’s ppl that will help ppl but treat them and talk to them like shit nobody deserves that just as much she didn’t deserve to be forced to be a parent. Nobody supersedes the other, you can’t ignore one and acknowledge the other.

I feel the oldest sister’s pain. I’m the oldest by 7 years. While being a straight A student, graduating Magna Cum Laude from College, and going to Law School…I did everything for my siblings. I raised them…cooked, clean, bought school clothes, paid cell phone bills, defended them against my abusive mother…everything! I took custody of my youngest brother when my mom was in her drug addiction. Now that we are all grown, I’ve been super disappointed when I’ve needed them. After many hurt feelings, I learned that they will never reciprocate my love and actions. I also learned that I am not their parent and I don’t want to be…they will make the choices that they want to. As for me, I set boundaries now and never stretch myself more than I care to. I also have a child that I have to pour into. I no longer take pride in being everyone’s everything… I just want to good to myself.

I'm the eldest of 5 (now 3), was raised as a mini-Mom, was able to run a household by 16, and 5 years later took on expenses my parents should have covered. Felt so proud and responsible back then. Felt so used, misunderstood and unappreciated later on. I'm now totally free from it all. It took a while, but finally there.

The sister is drained. She was adultified by her mom as a young child and forced into a parental role because of the circumstances that she was born into. She has always been there to give and give to her whole family, yet never be able to receieve anything back and its starting to reflect in the arguments she has with her family when she says these toxic things to them. Its sad that her siblings don't even realize how this is not her fault and the mom needs to take accountability instead of antagonizing her own daughter.

Wow Karamo has me crying. I'm an oldest sibling who has had to carry the family and not have time to find myself or do things for myself. She looks so exhausted and Karamo did something her family rarely did and I can see how much that meant to her. Deep rooted issues between siblings always end up happening because of the parents, I wish more siblings could realize that you can all experience different versions of the same parent in one household

@@marquisabland7163 - 100% saw you and myself - I'm on a similar journey, with the challenging brother to boot! I hate calling taking care of my family a burden, but it is what it is. A cousin who is also in an identical position once told me that it's important to keep something in reserve for yourself, because if I fail, we all fail. So don't feel guilty about the difficult decisions you've had to make, they will thank you... Eventually! I see the comments about dropping your brother, all I can say is don't - He needs professional help and we need to find that time to find it for them, mum doesn't have the strength - but you do and must... Losing a sibling, no matter how troubled they are, isn't worth baring. I also recognise the rage your sister described, and yeah that monster exists in me too... All I can say I that councilling is actually nessesary - we can rationalise this away as being a frivolous expense, but it's nessesary for our survival - find time and resource to strengthen yourself in this way. Best of luck to you and your family ❤

That mother is USELESS!!! And that should have been highlighted more in this clip. She has not been responsible for her own choices and makes her oldest fix everyone elses problem. She made her oldest the safety net and that is NOT her job and is unfair. Her mother needs to apologize and that oldest daughter needs to cut EVERYONE off financially with help and possibly all together for a few yrs so they can figure it out themselves. Im sure she doesnt have any kids of her own because THEY ARE ALL HER CHILDREN and thats BS. Girl i understand you completely. Let them fend for themselves and get back on your own feet to do whats best for you. You deserve it and you will feel lighter and be happier in general.

I’m the youngest and me and my sister HAD the SAME dynamic as these pretty ladies. My sister had to be tough and thought I had an easy life, while I was struggling and thought she was a bully. After years of conflict, we are finally sisters🤞🏿I understood her pain she went thru for years and I’m still learning.. And she understands how she affects me with her words and actions. I now try to help my sister with anything she asks. Because I know if she’s asking me, she really NEEDS HELP. And now our relationship is great. She still has a habit of trying to mother me but I learned to just appreciate her advice and take it or leave it. No need for arguments. I love her so much now❤❤❤❤

I was always in that motherly role because my mom was always working - it wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I started seeing her as a sibling. I see both of their sides - individual therapy helped us alot. I’m so thankful I have my sister and we have such a better relationship now.

As an older sibling I understand where she’s coming from. My mom had me at a young age and later had my sister and I regretfully mistreated her being her “mom” instead of a sister that I didn’t know how to be. I felt that I was carrying my mother’s burdens and having responsibilities of an adult than being a child and I was just tired. By the time my youngest sibling was born I felt that I treated her better than my other sister because I finally knew how to be a sister. Now that we’re older I’m working on building that bond between my first sister and I. A lot of it comes from guilt because I knew I wasn’t the best but it’s getting better each time I try and show up.
