It is very interesting we have a similar Afro- Guyanese tradition in Guyana on the night before the wedding with locked gate and singing and symbolic buying of either bride or groom called Queh-queh (Kwe-kwe)

Is this an urban and modern thing or wedding lately after living together for quite sometime is widely practiced even in shagz and it dates back to the hey days before the colonial rule? I though everything to be made upfront is common among the all kenyan tribes traditionally or i don't know if it only applies to some communities for religious purposes!
