+Draw+sawo ^^ I'm an illustrator, so it's my job to draw. I love drawing and creating, so it never feels like a chore or something that I don't want to do. The sketchbooks sort of fill themselves because of that... but even I wish I drew more often than I do right now. :)

I wanted to give you a tip that to stop pencil transfering you can by a fixadent spray but an alternative is hairspray you only need a cheep one but it really works.

Gyaahhh! I love Studio Laika works and didn't know you used to work there!!! Paranorman is one of my favorite movies ever! I don't know if Laika does smaller jobs/side projects, but if not then my wild guess is you were involved with Kubo!?!? Or with a future project. Hello. As a first year art student studying Illustration I am starting to look into companies more and seeing where I'm interested in working at Laika. So I was wondering if I'd be able to ask you some questions about working there. How you liked working for the company and so on? Not about the work you did other then medium wise if you are able to talk about that. Laika visited campus over the fall and I talked to the recruiter but I wanted to ask someone who worked there how they really liked it and if they would suggest it and so on. :)

Your sketches looks awesome! I have to admit it that I can't make sketches, I always go to a small details and shadings that is really not needed in sketches. Also maybe you have some advice how to get thru this? Also any advices how to sketch daily? I never find time for that :( I love your works! ^^

+Dovile'sART Thanks! I used to get caught up on the detail as well. I got around this by doing timed figure drawing. I took many, many figure drawing classes in college - most started with a long session of timed drawing from a live model. Sketches started out at 20 seconds and ended at 20 minutes or so. I'd recommend trying to do some timed drawing. Pixelovely is a figure drawing website that allows you to do timed drawing sessions, I'd suggest starting there. I use this website daily, to warm myself up to do my other daily sketching. If you're having a hard time getting yourself to draw - try blocking out a specific amount of time from your day just for drawing, even if it's only 20 minutes - prioritize whats important to you, if that's improving your drawing skills, than schedule some time for it, every little bit helps. :)

+Heidi Kuang Not for sketching - paper quality is very important for finished pieces, but if I'm just putting down ideas then I'll draw on any quality of paper.

Interesting. Thank you for replying! I have a slight preference for rough paper, but I'll draw on any paper. When using a sketchbook, however, I find that it is my chance to get some nice, rough paper, so that's what I use.
