Hey Karan! Great review as always. Was looking forward for this video. Having driven both the engine of kushaq couple of times, I find 1.5 to be slightly silent. Also i have seen both the engine 1.0 and 1.5 returning almost same milage. Two of my close friends own 1.0 Ambition AT and 1.5 Style DSG. Also the ride quating in Ambition variant is slightly superior to Style. One thing non skoda for me personally was the all auto up and down windows. That was a USP of Skoda VW and the cheaper rapid and polo had it. In terms of cost cutting i feel skoda has skipped many clever features which people owning skoda vw used to like. But definitely overall the product is pretty nice and they have a winner in hand with so many engine gearbox option they literally have everything for everyone. Wishing you all the best and fuzz free experience with this new machine.

Sir, 1. when i switch on ac, the engine makes a small load kind of sound and pick-up gets slow lil bit, when i switch off the ac or switch on just the fan, the engine becomes normal and runs smooth. Is this normal? 2. Mileage is very poor at 8-9 kmpl in city and highway around 14 kmpl. The car just clocked 1k km. Does it get better? Pls reply. Thanks in advance

Also, just as you said, the ambient lighting could have at least had one more option. Compared to my X1, it doesn’t look all that good. Also in your opinion what are the differences and which is the better of the 2 cars?

Thanks Aashish. I personally picked the Kushaq as i preferred the way it looks. Hence as there is no real mechanical difference between the two so one should pick according to their personal preference of design & brand/dealership/service they want to be associated with.

Hi Karan! I am planning to buy a subcompact SUV and am looking for a reliable car which could last me at least 8 years/ 1.5 Lac Kms. Would you recommend a 1.0 TSI Kushaq for me? Because this is a small GDI motor with a turbo, I am not really sure of how reliable it would be for a long term ownership. Should I go for time tested Naturally Aspirated S Cross petrol instead? Note : I am in love with everything including the current price of the Kushaq, also satisfied with the performance of this engine. But having a second thought only because of GDI and turbo in a small gasoline engine. Thanks!
@KKCOnAMotive2 жыл бұрын
Walter, The 1L Tsi motor is competent enough to have a balance of fun and practicality. The drawback is that under load (4+ passengers with luggage) its not economical as well as the pick up suffers. The reliability is still unknown but should not be an issue if you pick the long term service /warranty packs as it will give you peace of mind. About S Cross, AVOID. simply because that product is too old to even consider and a new gen is already revealed globally so if you want to buy that wait for the new gen. to arrive in India. All the best !

@@KKCOnAMotive Thanks Karan! On your recommendation, I bought a Skoda Kushaq 1.0 L TSI Manual in May 2022. I have a few questions and would be grateful if an experienced person like you can answer:- 1. The recommended engine oil is 0w30 on the owners manual. The place where I like the temperature is about 40 Degree Celcius for 6 Months, 15 Degrees for 3 Months, 30 degrees for 3 months. Is this engine oil for this temperature ok? 2. Skoda recommends changing Engine Oil every 15K kms, Spark Plugs every 60K kms. Should I replace these at these recommended intervals or sooner? How much sooner? 3. If I drive it more aggresively will it have a positive effect and reduce carbon buildup on the intake valves, or will have a negative effect and increase blow-by and hence increase carbon deposits? 4. Should I drive in Non-Turbo range i.e below 1750 RPMs to prolong the engine life as I won't kick in the turbo at these revs and would have less pressure on the engine. Or is it bad for Turbo and ruin it instead? 5. How much can I expect this engine to last if I followed the service schedule fully, used top tier 95 octane fuel and baby'ed the car? Thanks and Regards

Karan, thanks. This video is very informative and I can somewhat relate to your observations. I see you are quite active on replies hence reaching out for 2 help items: 1. I’m observing a cat making it’s way from the front wheels in the engine compartment - just above the shock absorbers plate or sometimes near battery. Is there a way I can stop this infestation? 2. I’ve driven my Ambition 1.0 TQ for about 2100KMs and the mileage is extremely poor - around 8-9 in the city traffic. Having said that, I’m a light-footer and I often try to drive in the highest gear possible by manual override well within 2K RPM but it doesn’t seems to make a difference (My driving score as per Škoda Connected app is 100 for last 3 months). I regularly use Indian Oil XP95 Petrol + correct tyre pressure + minimal AC usage + alignment is fine + just 1 passenger (myself) and no load in the boot space. Would you be able to share some insights and recommendations?
@KKCOnAMotive Жыл бұрын
Thanks Shivansh. To answer your queries; 1) Tricky, my question to you is is the car daily driven? Because if the engine & other components are hot then the cat may not venture in. Also try a different parking position if that can confuse the cat. Overall the cat wont cause any damage (rats would) but still having to check if the cat has exited before you start the vehicle to maintain vehicle as well as animal safety can be challenging. 2) The FE you are getting is all you can expect in traffic from a turbo petrol, seltos is similar too. 1.5DSG skoda may be lower. However you have just completed the running in , also after the 1st oil change it may improve.
@shivanshshukla989 Жыл бұрын
@@KKCOnAMotive Appreciate your time. I tried changing parking location but the kitty has been outsmarting me since a while I will now resort to some pepper spray on porch floor to see if that helps. I have a Rapid 1L TSI AT. Have done 5k kms in last 5 months of my ownership. Last weekend I finally got the chance to get her out of city limits for the first time. The car is gem. One has to experience VAG groups cars before saying anything bad about them. I have a doubt though, my Rapid returns 9-10kmpl in Pune traffic. My recent trip to Diveagar was around 400kms and I got only 12kmpl tank to tank. I use Shell V-Power. Although mileage is not an issue for me, I'm curious how people are getting close to 17kmpl on Highways. We were 4 people + luggage. In Pune, on a 1.0 TSI with Torque Converter, I have never crossed 10km/l in Pune traffic. To Lonavla and back, I could do 19km/l at about 80-100 km/h speeds. Even to Mahabaleshwar and back, I could get about 18km/l. Let the car coast every once in a while, and you should have better fuel economy on highways.

Good review as usual. Being an enthusiast I am not worried too much on mileage having said that 7 to 8 km/ltr in the city for a 1 ltr is utter poor efficiency. But Karan, just a suggestion try Shell fuels, Indian oil I am not sure though it is 95 octane. Almost all automobile community reports some or the other weird issues abt VW or Skoda. These recalls are not reassuring at all. What would you suggest if one may have 15-18 lakh budget, being a Ford owner handling, performance and reliability are my top priorities. Honestly I couldn't think beyond a Honda city, I know city is not a true handler but it does offer mix of everything but still I would like to have your suggestion. Thanks! Shiv

Thanks Shiv for your appreciation. In the 15-18L segment id suggest you wait it out for the Slavia or its VW counterpart if you intend to buy a Sedan. Apologies for the delayed response, Regards !

Well, whichever bodystyle you prefer. But if you dont have a sedan then go for the Slavia as the ground clearance is expected to be good and will not serve any issues in our conditions. All the best !

Is it worth spending more on 340i over 330i ? And what about ground clearance during long trips ?
@KKCOnAMotive2 жыл бұрын
Soham, if one has not owned a BMW before then the 330i is a great product to start with. Ground Clearance is manageable on most speed breakers & the suspension is stiff so the car doesnt get much lower with passengers.

Great review as usual, Karan! Since you did consider Sonet Diesel AT - is Seltos DCT / Diesel AT really worth spending 7L more? (Considering driving dynamics, performance, handling, roadholding, mixed use in city + highway - keeping features and size aside) If you had 20L today, which would be your pick from Seltos DCT vs Seltos Diesel AT vs Sonet Diesel AT?

Sonet isn't very dynamic. Seltos chassis feels lot more sorted but shines only in dct variant. Diesel feels underpowered on it.

Hi Karan. Nice video! I have zeroed in on the Kushaq AT but am super confused between 1.0 and 1.5 DSG. I live in Bangalore and my usage will be equally divided between the city and highways . My budget is open but am not sure if DSG is a good idea ( Because of all the reports on its failures in the past, also due to high maintenance owing to Indian climatic conditions). I'm a car/driving enthusiast but almost never overspeed but at times I do enjoy spirited driving. so I'm not sure if I can manage with the 1.0 . My mind says 1.0 but my heart says 1.5 ! Though not of immediate concern, do you think 1.5 would fetch a good resale value about 7 years from now ? All above factors considered, would you recommend the 1.5 or the 1.0 for me?
@KKCOnAMotive2 жыл бұрын
Hello, I'd say 1.5 Manual Kushaq can be considered too as you are an enthusiast and love driving. The 1.5 L engine will be a treat to row your way through the manual stickshift & this will take care of the reliability concerns as well. However if a Auto is a must then buy either 1L A/T or 1./5 L DST and pick the max warranty option so you can still enjoy without being worrisome of failures as it will be anyway covered. All the best !

@@mustanggt5713 Hi, I was in the same dilemma like you specially knowing that 1.5 gives same or even slightly better milege,my budget was also open for 1.5 but when I drove the 1litre ,I loved it.I had driven Creta automatic before and felt Kusqak 1litre was faster easily and was good enough for city and even highways and saved my 2Lacs on the 1.5(though 1.5 was fun). Just out of curiosity, did u get any discount on the Ex-showroom price for the style.
