lol that is funny, I have quite a few of that gallery wall pieces from goodwill. I love thrifting! Rarely buy anything but sometimes you find treasures. A lot of my vintage pieces are flea market except for the credenzas.

Thank you very much for the tour of your Beautiful home. As a senior I also sold my bungalow on the shores of Lake Simco Ont. Four months after my husband of 51 yrs died. Work up on a freezing morning with snow up to my waist Had a large property that we had loved for 21 yrs It was like a lightbulb went off in my brain Time to move to Vancouver where lived my Eldest. Married son and my Precious married daughter. Didn't tell my brothers , rang my Irish Real estate friend My home sold in 4days. My daughter and brother same over to chat with me Mom , how ca. You even think to be so hasty and not include us To help you think this through, how do you think you can ever Buy a property in Vancouver? Confidently I explained to her , it will all work out ! And it did for i had already decided I would go searching in The Historic Nautical Village of Steveston , also my daughter Resided in White Rock. Within a week I found my new home, a two bed apartment in A complex by the Ocean park named Garrypoint Park A most beautiful Ocean Front walking Heaven. I have not for a moment regretted my decision to dive straight in Ps I am so inspired by your beautiful Home Residence, Yes we are lead by our Hearts Desires Mary Vancouver BC.

I’m 73 and just sold my home of 25 years and now rent a 2 br/2 ba apartment. I wanted some time to decide if I want to be a homeowner again. I have done a LOT of downsizing but will probably need to do more! I love your townhome decor, especially the artwork! Your home has a wonderful feel to it! Thanks for sharing! ❤️

My husband and I have been considering to downsize after our youngest daughter and her husband moved to another state in early 2025 to be closer to our eldest daughter's family. Or wait till we retired, hopefully in 7 years time. Or just stay on and rent out the back part of our house for extra income and then hire helps to maintain our garden and swimming pool. For us, if we ever downsize, we would be homeowner again, because landlord can always increase rent without warning. No one knows if any of us would be laid off before we reach the government official retirement age, so to enable us to received Age Pension. So many options and uncertainties.

I consider myself fortunate. I thank my blessings! My husband & i worked very hard for what we have. He recently passed away. I plan on selling & downsizing, as my home is very large. Many of my friends rent. Many are on fixed incomes and are retired such as I. Many struggle financially. I have given away many nice things which i have accumulated way too much thru the years. I consider myself truly blessed after i see and know many Senior Citizens who are not as fortunate.

The downstairs areas are amazing, I have screen shot the lounge & shown my husband who loves it too. We like neutral colours, the only accent colour we have around the house is a darkish blue but I love the brightly coloured paintings.

Thank you so much, what a kind compliment. I never thought of showing my pantry. It’s very tiny and I use it for both food stuff and some of my day-to-day tools like my vacuum cleaner. So definitely nothing exciting! I will do some kind of wardrobe, clothing, type of video at some point. So people will have a little peek into my closet. I like those kind of videos too!

If you buy quality, like Ligne Rosse or Sarinen (sp?) iconic chairs and tables, they will never go out of style. If you can afford them. If you can't, then go ahead and buy replicas. It's not worth going into debt for! What a beautiful home, very inspiring.

Exactly! Hence my dining table. It’s a replica but I have had it for so long. It’s actually made by a Canadian company. I think they got in trouble though for making it! I do prefer saving up and buying the real thing even if it takes a while.

I just discovered your videos. I'm 73 y.o. from Terrebonne, Quebec. It's a good thing to have a canadian lady talking about things that are close to my age and my heart. Personnally, I have mostly pine furniture from a Quebec manufacturer back in 1979. I don't have new furniture or something of a great quality as I couldn't afford them. I have a three floor townhouse that I’ve owned when my husband and I downsized in 2004 he became ill in 2006 and passed away in 2010, so it’s just me and my boy, Otis Ray🐶 a wheaten cairn terrier.. I have a very vintage and eclectic home. I am a Maximalist so I am a lot different than you, but I chose all my decor tastefully and carefully, and I have been decluttering a lot. If I bring something in something goes out usually to my grown granddaughters.😊 your channel came on my feed so I was intrigued and I was watching it this morning and I liked what I saw, so I subscribed have a blessed day, my friend. I moved back from California 2 years ago and don't even have a sofa, in fact don't even have a proper chair to sit on. I gave away all of my furniture in California. I had expensive heavy furniture, however cost prohibitive to me interstate. Thankfully, the maintenance guys helped me find people who could use it. Had it for 23 years, so I figured I got my use out of it. I have the bare minimum when it comes to furniture in my home. Ah well, I need to downsize anyway. My home is far too big for me, so less to move next time. I love your library, and those comfy chairs. Yes, I do need a good comfy chair. And the Teak nesting tables your dad made - gorgeous!

Really enjoyed this tour of a lovely comfortable REAL home of a retired woman. When I retired I downsized to a coastal city and thought the split level villa I bought would be home for many years. Unfortunately I fell down a small flight of stairs the first night and broke my ankle. Although the ankle healed well I have recently upsized to a larger house on large block because the living quarters are on one level. Even though I now have a larger garden to tend I have no stairs!

Well I had a lovely curated artisan home and my Daughter literally ripped me out after surgery. She brought me 1600 miles away to her 35 degree below zero home , where I lived in a cellar! and thank the Lord I escaped. Sounds crazy right? Now I am in a basement one room and looking for a place of safety. People do crazy things for money. Now looking for an upper level sunlit space. You’ve got an amazing eye for design! The incredible light in your place and your neutral palette of walls, sofa, chairs leave space for your splashes of soft colors in vases, pillows etc. Things you can change out to “redecorate” easily. Love that aside from vintage you’ve got design classics (not knock offs wow wow!) heart the Nagucci table! I have a licensed Corbusier lounger and it doesn’t fit my decor anymore but hang on to it for that small retired life someday❤
