Ive got an old 3.4 aussie whaler trihull... im doing research at the moment to convert it to electric... i will be waithing and waiting for each vid.... i also want to do a solar array... i really want like a 15, 20hp equivalent... 48v.... epropulsion also do inboard electric motor and same with elco.... also i love the idea of a Zero Jet system.... watching and waiting for your next vid... 👍👍

A 1.2kw motor is about 1.6 British horsepower. Excellent project btw, I'm here for it as I've built a much smaller version of solar electric boat with a 12'6" (4 meter) Bassmaster pro jon boat. Mine features a 500 watt (3/4hp) trolling motor fed by a 100ah deep cycle battery. In my version I've used a large rectangular patio umbrella (10'x7') secured at all 4 corners by paracord which makes it very secure. 400 watts of flexible solar panels up on top make it easily deployable and transportable.

Sounds very cool. Can I ask what sort of efficiency do you get out of the flexible panels? Would you get 200 watts out of them on a good day?

@DASHOffRoad Sorry, not sure as I am using a cheap 100amp PWM solar controller connected to 2 Renogy 200watt flexible panels (found cheap on marketplace). Out on the lake is full sun so I'm assuming at least 300 watts
