2:44 the delivery on “that was between me and my son” was perfect
@ShiddyKong15 күн бұрын
That line is such a perfect way of showing Mike's flaws. His grief makes him so much less of a father in law, hence the "me and *my* son" and not talking to Stacey

the fact that Jonathan Banks never won an award for this speech is criminal.
@alexr759516 күн бұрын
The obsession BCS fans have with the Emmys is always weird to me. Like, who cares what a bunch of people in some high offices think? Does it make it better if what? The show is awesome and beloved, so what is with this need for validation from some academy? Also, did you watch every single show/ performance BCS ran against every year? If you didn’t, how do you even know that it should’ve won over others?
@Manuswix16 күн бұрын
BCS lost an Emmys award fifty three times, is this enough ?

I mean, great speech,great scene, 1but it's not on the level of the chuckanary speech.

Did you think or research before you wrote that? He won the Critic Choice Awards for Television. If you mean an Emmy, then you are basically saying that Peter Dinklage should not have won the award for Games of Thrones. Is that what you saying? 😂

I noticed Mike began to treat Saul as a fellow criminal and with contempt after he had to bury Saul's old boss, Howard, whom Saul and Kim had framed as a dirty Lawyer; maybe Mike took having to bury an innocent man stained with a dirty reputation, much like his Son, personally.

Mike's moral compass is actually kinda interesting. He has little to no care for any criminals or regular people, but regular people outside of the "game" that are affected by it truly hurt him, and he even grows to care for Nacho and Jesse as a kind of distant father
@jakandratchet993014 күн бұрын
Not just that, but also Nacho’s father giving Mike a reality check that nobody gave Mike before. “You gangsters and your “justice.” You’re ALL the same.” Ultimately, Mike ended up being no better than the two cops who murdered his son.

Jonathan Banks should've won an Emmy for this scene. This is the most emotional Mike Ehrmantraut scene in both BrBa and BCS.

So Peter Dinklage should not have won the Emmy for Games of Thrones that year? Okay. 😂
@muphynman22116 күн бұрын
@@miguelrosado6348 The 2015 Emmy went to Peter Dinklage in Game of Thrones... for season 5. Season 5 was really bad and only coasted on ratings from seasons 1-4 as the best television ever made. Tyrion season 4 was a juggernaut, he was front and center that season at his trial and put out a masterpiece. Aaron Paul won that year, while he'd be deserving of a win any other year, Season 4 Tyrion easily crushes Season 5 Jesse. Season 5 Tyrion is a different story entirely, not at the fault of Peter Dinklage but he wasn't that important and the series was just bad. Season 5 GoT deserved no awards.

@@muphynman221 After careful deliberation, I have to accept that's a good point. I watched Peter Dinklage accepting the award and even he mentioned that Jonhthan Banks should have got the award. I was under the impression this year for season 4, not season 5. I was wrong.

This has to be one of the best scenes in Better Call Saul. The absolute pain that Mike has to confront - that Matty was not dirty, and that he had to be FORCED into taking that cash, all to be gunned down, and for his wife to think that he was a corrupt cop. The performances here, from both of them, but particularly Banks are an absolute masterclass in acting. Jonathan was robbed of his emmy.

This whole show deserved gold because it was more than a spinoff. It was a great expansion to something we never thought to get more of. The cast and crew exceeded expectations every episode and it saddens me their recognition wasn’t fully expressed
