Nice, that's good to know. I see everyone saying to use expert1 instead of warm and I just didn't like it. The whites are clearly not white and it's easy to tell on the home screen when looking at white icons like the netflix logo. Warm is the best to me but I even like neutral a little bit better than expert1 as well. Whites still look correct on neutral but skin tones just seemed a slight bit too red on neutral. Those were my findings anyway. I'm not a TV expert but I do know color. I've been working in color correction of images for over 20 years.
@rickcuster5828
@rickcuster5828 3 жыл бұрын
@@LeeAaronLive Warm is the base for all the calibrations with the gamma at 2.0. If I used neutral I had to reduce red gains to even out colors. The superior processor in Sony tv's make color transitions way smoother too!!

I've had it for about a month, and maybe I'm being a little picky, but I'm kinda underwhelmed? Still a nice tv, good picture, definite upgrade over my last TV, but it does have its quirks. HDR isn't that bright during the day, refections are a little annoying, but that's my bright ass living room problem is on me. However, don't watch TV a lot on the day so it's not a big deal. 120hz is an industry wide mess and now I just want to keep it off so games don't look graphically worse. The firmware and sound issues are annoying, hopefully those get worked out... but for a 2020 TV and a premium product, I (and apparently the entire internet) expected a little more from Sony. But I'm keeping it, but if the 83in OLEDs are cheaper this time next year I might jump.

@@cosmicmarine3776 it's certainly not perfect but value per dollar I find it to easy be the best HDMI 2.1 TV that was available in 2020. I also own an LG CX as well and sure, the picture quality is a bit better but it's also not that bright in a bright room and the reflections are even worse actually so for the price difference I just don't see the value in at least the LG CX. I paid just about the same price for a 48 inch LG CX as I did for a 75 inch X900H. That's pretty crazy when I think about it and definitely not a good value per dollar proposition. The CX is a fantastic TV though but it's also got it's quirks just like all the rest.

@@LeeAaronLive These are really good points! I agree, the value per dollar is in the X900H comparatively. I mean the 85" C1 is $6,000! I paid $1500 + Tax for my refurbished x900h 85"! I didn't realize the CX wasn't as bright, yikes! Makes me feel a lot better about my TV lol. Thanks again!

I bought my Sony Tv 2 years ago and I truly love it ! I generally used the expert 1 or 2 settings when watching certain movies. I have noticed that it makes the background and clarity sharp. Snow backgrounds like on the GOT. Sand backgrounds on Star Wars and the new Mad Max movies show really well on expert level.
@LeeAaronLive
@LeeAaronLive 3 жыл бұрын
I hear you. With these new models the expert1 and expert2 are just color temperatures. They don't actually give you any extra available settings or make it any more crisp or anything. Expert1 is supposed to be that D65 cinema color profile. Expert2 I'm not really sure what that is but it's very yellow by default. It's actually kind of misleading to label it expert1 and 2 as it doesn't provide anything different. The mode up top being labeled as custom is what enables all the settings.

I had a isf level 3 calibrator come out and calibrate my panel, the only thing I didn't do is keep it on expert 1 for HDR because the picture looks too dark, changed it to expert 2 to take advantage of the nits in the tv.
@LeeAaronLive
@LeeAaronLive 3 жыл бұрын
That makes good sense if you can calibrate the warmth out of Expert 2 to make it look more natural while still achieving more brightness. Excellent idea. For me I did not have calibration equipment and could not seem to find a proper combination of settings on my own to remove the extra warmth and maintain accurate picture colors. If I ever get a calibration device I will give this a shot as well 👍

@@LeeAaronLive Expert color space is what movies use and what hdr games use, using anything but expert 1 or 2 isn't reference accurate.
@LeeAaronLive
@LeeAaronLive 3 жыл бұрын
@@wodensthrone5215 I still honestly prefer the warm color space. Expert 1 looks good to me but expert 2 looks horribly yellow out of the box and warm just looks visually the most appealing to me. I think everyone should watch their own television in the way that their eyes enjoy it the most. I tried rtings custom calibration in which they used tools to measure everything and they recommended expert1. I started there, tried expert2 and realized that was further from what looked appealing to me and moved over to warm where I felt it looked best for my own viewing.
@LeeAaronLive
@LeeAaronLive 3 жыл бұрын
@@wodensthrone5215 I do applaud Sony for trying to make a reference accurate color space and they did a great job but we have to remember that no two people's eyes are the same. Every single person on this planet will look at the same exact color and see it at a different saturation level than the person standing next to them will. Even one companies calibration tool vs. another calibration tool will not provide the same identical result... Which one is right? Which one isn't? You can ask 100 people and you'll probably get 50 saying this way looks better and 50 saying the other way looks better. And trust me, Sony's calibration of expert1 or expert2 is not what game developers are using to be color accurate. They may use D65 as the reference for making a film or a game but who's to say their equipment is getting D65 exactly the same as Sony's? Also each individual panel even within Sony can and will have variance. My point is people are trying to make exact science out of things that have variables. Ambient lighting changes things too. D65 is far warmer than daylight as well. It is in actuality a white point that became a cinematic trend but it was not always this way and might not always be in the future. That's why I made this video honestly. It's not to say anyone is right or wrong, it's just to state that I personally found what I've done here to be more pleasing for myself to watch on screen than other videos I have seen. I tell folks if you're not happy with the TV the way it is maybe give this a try and see if you like it, if you don't though, that's totally fine. For me it's all about setting up what you spent your money on to enjoy in the most enjoyable way for yourself.

DOES WALL MOUNTING A TV CAUSE BANDING?
@LeeAaronLive
@LeeAaronLive 3 жыл бұрын
I've never seen proof that it does. I've personally been wall mounting TV's for years from multiple manufacturers and I've never seen it... However... 2 of my more recent TV's ended up with darker spots around the edges after about 4 years and I've read that it may be due to wall mounting. I'm not certain that is the cause but I suppose it's possible.

Sure. Put Satellite tv in HDMI 1 , put firestick in HDMI 2, if your Sony Sound bar is capable of hi fidelity audio like Dolby atmos then put it in HDMI 3 and put the PS5 in HDMI 4. For the Sony soundbar turn on e-arc in the tv settings and for the PS4 turn on enhanced format for HDMI port 4. Do not use enhanced Dolby digital, just use the enhanced that allows for 120hz. If your Sony soundbar is older or not capable of Dolby atmos you can use an optical cable instead and leave HDMI port 3 open.
