Have you tried switching on Dolby Atmos sound with 120 Hz in XBOX Series X. Once you do that .. you will witness how sub standard TV this is.

@@lordbrown1458 Go into watching TV on setting and look for hdmi inputs, i forget the exact name because its buried just make sure the port your ps5 is connected to is set to enhanced, and make sure that port is either 3 or 4, the 1st two dont do hdmi 2.1 etc

Vincent, If you get a chance could you please try a similar test to the one you did for the PS5 with the XboxSX; using the Canon monitor to check for the level of fluctuations when running full/full vs limited/limited. Testing some older devices would also be great. Potentially using full/full may be the best option for people mainly playing games on their consoles, assuming their display doesn’t internally convert everything to limited in its processing pipeline anyway.

He said that all of the settings are perfect man he only showed the game settings that needed one or two things to adjust. You are fine out of the box. Sony compared to Samsung and LG has the almost perfect out the box calibration. I would not bother it. He has said this on a lot of videos and he does calibration. You noticed he only turned the color down to 50 and changed one other thing on game mode. If you go to any other website they will tell you the same. This TV is the best out right now for ps5 and xbox series x for gaming hdmi 2.1 few Tv's have it.

Thank you for the excellent video! This is exactly what I needed. I was messing around with my X900H settings while in-game on a PS4 Pro and found that having Adv. Contrast Enhancer set to High provides more pop to visuals and increases perceived peak brightness while maintaining the black levels. What is the disadvantage of having this turned on/why do you prefer it off?

I have a x950h and fully agree. They should be similar. Live color on medium or high is a must to give the picture any pop. These settings are terrible for gaming on this or similar sets.

I was used to reality creation before, 'cause I had the feeling the image looked way clearer. But after playing a while in 4k with it off and then turned back on, the image suddenly looked over sharpened to me (reality creation on auto). I think I' ll stick to having it turned off now. The sharpness now looks just right. Also with expert 1 and HDR the picture looks really good now👍

There are many options out there and many “calibrators” doing their take on the XH90 settings but the ones shown in the video here are the most accurate so if you care for realistic color and resolution use them. If you want everything to pop then follow the rest…

@@calgolden1378 well at the moment I wouldn’t say so. They have really fixed the VRR in a sense that it works perfectly and it smoothens any rough stutters you might’ve had with stuff like Elden ring or RT Spider-Man remaster or whatever really that’s capable of pushing over 60fps or goes under: at the moment what I use is VRR on which disabled local dimming but to counter that here are my settings and picture looks brilliant as ever with VRR on brightness max, contrast max, gamma max, black level 50 the default, black adjustment high and color 60 with color temp expert 1. Everything else I disable. These settings will make the picture very realistic and impressive without the need of local dimming. The trick is to put black adjustment high and gamma to max to counter the effect of not having local dimming and extended dynamic range on. I even prefer that to having local dimming on because I don’t get any type of flicker or weird brightness adjustments whilst playing that distract me and annoy me during gameplay.

Hopefully this helps, but 4K TVs from 2016 onwards have very low input lag regardless of their price tier. If all you want is a TV that is pretty responsive then you should be fine. If you get a 120Hz TV then you will get an even more responsive and fluid experience. But people also care about having good HDR performance which makes the games look better and more impactful

This TV is the best out next to LGcx which has a slightly lower iput lag but horrible burn in. He already did the comparison a little while back he has tons of videos just search through them. Also only a few TV's have hdmi 2.1 currently and this sony model is the only one working for the update. the x950 and a8h have hdmi 2.1 but no update is out for it. Samsung doesn't beat this TV and high end Oleds suffer from massive burn in. LG TV's do not last a longtime they break very quickly as well as samsung. Stick with Sony. My last 2 sonys lasted me 8 years. I just got this TV before black Friday. Sony makes good long lasting TV's.

For content outside of gaming I like High as well. But gaming I feel like you can lose a lot by not using Medium. I was swapping back and forth in Ghosts of Tsushima for instance inside of a dimly lit house, looking out during the daytime (in game lol), and when you used High, the entire outside area beyond the house I was in became blurry, and you basically lost your entire view. Just one example off the top of my head, but I feel like the loss of detail is more prevalent and more of a hinderance in games, while having High for deeper blacks and less blooming in film is the way to go

It's more accurate to lower color saturation even though it's in HDR? I thought that would mess up the TVs tone mapping. Unless you have done actual calibration in HDR and have seen that it's actually more accurate at 50.
