My motor blew up running 540bhp on a MRC tune and the second engine I purchased wasnt running great due to being poorly built Ares Tuning has built my current engine. Nathan is very knowledgeable My S3 hasn’t missed a beat since being built by him Highly recommend 👌🏾

Been down this road twice, but in my B8 S4. Super gutted so I know what you’re going through after putting so much time and effort into it. After some thought and research as I wanted a modified car again I decided on the RS3 as that platform is way more reliable. Fingers crossed, but I’ve been stage 2 for 2 years now with just normal maintenance being my biggest expense. Of course I always want more but I know that as soon as you go stsge 3 in anything you’re just rolling the dice unless you build the motor. Best of luck with your future projects!

I can’t believe that your tuner didn’t reccomend opening up the piston ring gaps if wanting to run race fuel / higher cylinder pressures on a stage 3 it sounds to me like the piston rings have pinched together due to getting to hot and not having enough clearance and caused the skirts to break apart on the piston

unfortunately this is what happens at stage 3 on stock block, i assume you were 2 bar of boost or over?

I picked up my S3 Tuesday i blew my engine aswell Connecting Rod Blew out of the engine. Good luck with replacing the engine Will be a sick Project for sure !

Was the block still on stock internals? I’ve always wanted to build an EA888 to stage 3 and I finally put a deposit on an s3 but this has put me off, unless you was on stock internals still

Sorry to hear mate, fighting with mine too but nothing that bad! Nathan and an Unicorn development tune will get you sorted =) Way too much torque on your last tune. Anything over 600Nm without an built engine you're playing with fire. Unicorn development limit the torque based on state of engine. They limited my to 550BHP and 600Nm.

@@S3Ranj Defo worth the trip. He always blow my mind with the knowledge he has and often has quite mad stories from dodgy builder and people not respecting their car =) Same here. I think pass Stage 2 it's a different game that requires more patience and unfortunately more cash! We'll get there, we'll be poor but our S3 will run stable and proud 😅

Mate just watched this i had this happen to me at low speeds i was at the ring did a lap then went to spa to watch f1 and my engine went in Europe so got it towed to nathan and now it’s forged and ported head been a year runs sweet👍 nathan is the man for the job
