It’s amazing what difference the fu tone mods can make ive done the same to an evh Wolfgang big block titanium inserts and screws etc just made a massive difference sounds so much brighter. Keep the vids coming Charlie top guitarist 👍👍🤟🤟🤟

Sterling made an AX40 and later for a limited time an AX40D model that had the same custom DiMarzio's found in the USA Axis/EVH sig model... Those sound like DiMarzio's

A few years ago my wife got me the ax40 for my birthday. Once I swapped out the pups for the rhoads settup (Duncan distortion and Duncan jazz) it played like a 1k guitar. Bang for the buck mid range,, you CANNOT beat the trio of SBMM, PRS and newer top end Epiphones.

I have a pink one and I love it. Added a kill switch just like Ed used to the spot his toggle would be on a real EBMM.

Great video and awesome guitar! Love the mods. I have a red AX 30 and the neck is very smooth. I’ve been trying to find a purple or pink AX40, but they are very hard to find

I swapped out the pups almost immediately. That's the only things I found to be/sound cheap about the ax40.

This is excellent. Been thinking about dropping some money on a used Sterling AX40 in the UK as well, and then tricking it out with FUTONE. I've priced up the Bridge to the spec you mention in this video (assuming you didn't get a new nut) and it came out at $362.45 Shipped. Did you pay a lot of import tax on that?

Hi there, beautiful guitar. I am interested about the FU2 bridge. My peavey needs a new one, tried an original Floyd but don’t like the fit. Have been considering the FU2. Seems to be almost identical to the size of the original peavey Wolfgang floyd . I would also like to know your views on the trem 2 years on. Any issues?

I like that you changed the selector switch, I want to do the same to my AX40d. You said you changed just the bit that you grab hold of, do you mean the tip? You just took off the plastic cream tip, and put a chrome tip over the already existing switch? I'm interesting in doing this, where did you buy the chrome tip?

I have the same. It could be me, but in contrast to my other guitars the ax40 bridge sound pretty mushy. String seperation is poor. Als it sounds verry thin 😬. Neck pickup is pretty good though

Hey man ! I look at Sterling so I can buy that without getting the Music Man for 3k, but the Sterlings have no locking nut ! Did you add it in, or did they change their guitars and removed the locking nut ?

I heard that in 2013 they changed the ax40 pickups to the pickups that are in the real axis. I have a magenta ax40 and the bottom of the bridge pickup has axis F and the bottom of the neck pickup has axis b on the bottom. Do you know if this is true?

How the neck feel comparing to the musciman Axis ? I tried the china Made one and it feel totally different ...but the Indonesian Made SUB 3 neck feel close to musicman...what do you think bro?

How do you know it has Dimarzio's? because I'm pretty sure DiMarzio pickups have triangular feet, you have the rectangle feet which is probably the sterling pups. Sounds great tho!

I found the quality of these guitars to be very bad.. Not sure what people find appealing about a terrible low budget Axis. Just save your money and get a used one in great condition..
