It seems not so bad here but I watched the full episode she was on (quite a while ago now) and it actually impacts her life in negative ways. She takes the puppets EVERYWHERE with her and it has got to the stage that she can't have a conversation with her own sister without speaking through the puppets. The puppets started out as fun but they stop her having a better life in the long run.

I dont think I'd call them fake or scripted. A lot of em sure. But I think this show uses a lot of dramatization. When people who ate things for the texture stop cutting it they had to move on. They took people with sexual/nonseuxal kinks, people who are really into fashion, and people who have been or are in the guiness world book of records. Then they turned them into a whole joke and dramatized their quirks to be addictions. My strange hobby lol.
