Another great video 👍🏿. I ride a Brompton in London, UK 🇬🇧 and I’ve been using a mirror ever since I started cycling back in the 80s. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s saved my life acting as an extra pair of eyes for the rear view mirror. Like you said, it’s daft that all bikes aren’t fitted with them. For the people who think they don’t need them, tell them to try driving or riding a motorcycle without mirrors and ask them how they got on without them. That’s how important it is to use them.

Very nice video and great pedelec, very good choice! I've been riding a Stromer (nowadays an ST3 LE Pinion) for some years now and your right: everytime with a big smile. One thing you could mention in your future videos is that the traffic regulations on some points are different in the USA than in Europe. Even here are differences between countries. Some Examples: A mirror is obliged on a speedpedelec in Europe. The Stromer helmet (Unit1 from Faro) may not be worn in the Netherlands due to missing saftey certification (NTA8776). In case of an accident you're not insured with this helmet. In belgium i'ts no issue. In Europe the speedpedelec in general is considered as a moped in most countries, which means insurance, numberplate, moped helmet opbliged and a moped license or equal. This is just a summary of some (minor) differences. Nevertheless, keep the videos coming and I'm always in for tips on products. I also have some videos of my Stromer rides on my channel in case interested.

Thank you for the suggestions as well. Bike laws in the United States are almost non-existent. There are some on the books; however, they are rarely enforced. Yes, we have three classes of bikes, but they are more of a suggestion than a law. There are extremes, however, that are obvious. When you see something that looks like a super Moto dirt bike with pedals going 60mph, the police will go after that. (sometimes). Good call out about Unit 1. I see it is being sold in Europe, but I have yet to learn the laws. Things like licensing, registration, and bike insurance do not exist here for bikes. They are all considered recreational. If more people used E-bikes as a formal mode of transportation, then I could see things changing. But E=bikes are not considered vehicles for the most part. Thank you again... Hi Jason, thanks for sharing ! What’s your experience with the SQLab 702 grips? Big improvement compared to the standard ST7 grips ? Is the mounting of the mirror on the top end of the grips with a standard inner screw ?

Hi.. Thank you so much for watching my video. I love the SQLab grips. I was so excited to get the Brooks Gips and saddle and for my body mechanics I found the saddle to be really hard and same with the grips. The grips are super comfortable and do eliminate vibration into the hands and are supportive on the wrist as well. I am not sponsored by SQLab but I did become a fan instantly and recently started buying their bib shorts, and mountain bike shorts and love those too. As far as the mirror they had to drill a hole in one of the grips to mount the mirror.

Same (golden) bike, same helmet. I have it only linked to the remote. Bike can only do 1 connect, so you are not using omni app via bluetooth, right? The remote also shows a stop light via accelerometer i guess but i haven’t had a chance to verify that as I am wearing it when moving..

It is my understanding that if you had the normal version of the helmet that the Navigation Remote has a motion sensor in it that would indicate you are breaking and light up the back of the helmet. The only difference with the Stromer version is it gives you the option to pair directly to the bike allowing the brake handles to send that signal to the helmet instead of the remote. I am assuming that you could not pair the Stromer version to the bike and just use the remote and achieve the same thing. And yes you are correct I think it is a shortcoming on Stromer's part that you can only pair a single Bluetooth device to the OMNI so in my case I am running the helmet vs the app.

First let me say welcome to the stromer family. I guarantee will have that bike for a long long time. I have two ST1'S. One is the reload dark wine red comfort style medium sized. And my new ST1 is deep petrol bule sport frame lci which is the daylight running light. Hey does the sos detection work here in the states of America on that helmet or is that just a European standard? MTG does your SOS detection work. Great video sorry for the long comment.

Wow! First off, thank you for watching my video. Your videos helped me in my decision to buy a Stromer. To the best of my knowledge, it will work the same in the U.S.... You set the helmet up with the same FARO Unit 1 app that the regular helmet uses. I have been unable to test it, but there is a way to set everything up. You can set the duration after a crash if there is no movement before it notifies a contact, and then you can set up your emergency contact. The website gives you more detail on how this actually works. unit1gear.com/products/faro . It looks like I made an error in the video in researching your question. It looks like the navigation remote is no longer included no matter what version you buy.

Hi… thanks for watching.. I live in Las Vegas and regularly ride in the cooler parts of the summer 90F+ but below 100F so early in the morning or evening. I have not found the helmet to be uncomfortable. I do know they are coming out with anther one that seems to be more ventilated. As far as weight again it does not bother me but the weight is approximately 700g… I am sure there are lighter ones on the market.. I think the pluses are safety, crash detection, and integration with the bike, turn signals and break lights and you are highly visible. Hope this helps..

I considered a couple of Stromer's including the ST7, but for the life of me I don't understand why they don't have a full independent suspension. I'm considering the Riese & Muller Homage 4 GT Rohloff HS with its dual battery option. However both lack a throttle. I recently turned 60 and I thought about getting a bike to essentially get back in shape. So as an impulse purchase I bought a Mokwheel Obsidian. I figured if I didn't like it it wouldn't be a huge waste of money. Considering how inexpensive that bike is I'm literally having to spend four or five times as much to get slightly ahead. I can tell you that it's more comfortable than any bike with a hard tail. Even on that cheap bike I have a separate seat suspension and it's like riding on a cloud. I 100% agree about getting the right saddle makes all the difference and everybody's rear end is different so you have to try different saddles. I keep on looking at high-end mountain bikes hoping that they would add two things: 1. Full Fenders and 2. Saddle tube mounted Rack .. and 3. Throttle. You may have the guts to ride on the street and I live in an area where the people are looking at their damn phones while driving the cars .. so I'm on the sidewalk 98% of the time. The throttle is very important to help accelerate across an intersection. I prefer a torque sensor and in fact any sensor including a cadence has a delay. That delay could be the difference between you getting across the street and getting flattened! Anyway good luck with your bike and your KZbin channel.

I lost 30 lbs this past 12 months. The keto diet and biking every day when I can have helped a ton. I feel so much better, and I have so much fun. I did not want the temptation of throttle, so went with a bike that I had to pedal. If you use it as needed, you are going to do fantastic.

@@jasonlynch9979 .. I used Google's speech to text and it flubbed up about the missing "full" independent suspension. I only use the throttle when I need it to rush across an intersection or I feel threatened by whatever situation. Regarding weight, I weighed over 260 lbs and I'm down to 203 lbs with a goal of "as soon as I'm not fat" or about 190-195 lbs. I've been stuck at 203 lbs for at least a month and everyone has plateaus. My diet changes are simpler, I cut out 6 or so cans of Cokes, stopped stuffing my face with cookies and candy, reduced my salt (none is added), and stopped eating after 6:00 PM. Then I eat a couple of eggs with sausage or bacon for breakfast, bike 20+ miles on PAS 2 (20-24 MPH) and dinner. Currently all I do is manage my stock holdings and self-induced stress. I recently had a 20%+ fast gain with a good year overall and I'm looking at $15K eBikes. Because after ~45 years away from biking I'm hooked. So yeah I get it and I get your eBike. You just skipped the middle man eBike.

Hi .. Thank you for the compliment. The bike does have regenerative braking (like an electric car), so when you are going downhill, for example, you are sending power back to the battery. Also, when you break, it sends power back to the battery... Peddling, however, does not send power to the battery. As far as charging, you will for sure need to charge it via a plug. The battery on the ST7 is massive and rated for over 100+ miles on a charge, so depending on how far you ride, and if you leave the bike on all the time, you may only need to charge it once every few weeks or so. The cool thing about Stromer is that they all go 28mph, so you are paying for the options that come with the bike and the battery size. (and how fast you want to get to that 28mph limit)

Hi, Thank you for your comment . I would love to get your opinion on what a viable competitor would be. Maybe I missed something. I did a ton of research on e-bikes and landed on Stromer. In my opinion (and why I bought the bike) I believe they are using quality components based on my research, and while I switched out some parts it wasn't for the lack of quality but for me I found items that made the bike more comfortable for my body mechanics and unique needs. As far as price I think that is all relative based on the perceived value and what someone is willing to pay. I see you ride a Ducati for example and I believe those are beautiful machines I am sure there is someone that is a Honda purist that would argue why Ducati's are over priced etc. But if you are happy with it, it fits your personal needs and it brings you joy when you ride it, and you believe it's a good brand then the money becomes justified.

I've been riding a Stromer (ST1, ST2 and nowadays the ST3) for quite some years now and in general I'm pretty happy with the bikes and the quality of the bikes. Okay: still no extended fenders, no M99 lights for ST1-3, no blinkers, no decent horn (the nwe one) and some other missing features is not a quality issue of the bike but the lack of listening to clients from Stromer in my opinion. Stromer as a comany still has a certain amount (a lot actually) of arrogance and if that's your understanding of lack of quality I fully agree with you. But as for the pedelec, I'm actually thinking of trading my ST3 LE Pinion for a ST7. I've sold my 2nd car and the ST3 is my commuting 'vehicle' and I still love it.

@@mamojula Hi. This is my first electric bike, so I do not know other brands other than what I researched before deciding to buy a Stromer and their most expensive version. There is a lot of faith on my part, especially given I am in an area without a dealer or service. So far, my experience has been positive, and I am having fun every time I ride it. As far as blinkers / Turn Signals, you might want to look at the Unit 1 helmet and make sure to get the turn signal remote amzn.to/3Qhh198. This is what I use.
