I read that a lot of st2 owners are having big problems whit the sturmmy archer 5 speed gear, is it enything you have encountered whit your st2? And a possible solution?? Thanks for a great video Greadings from 🇩🇰 Denmark

No issues really, we have needed to change a gear cable after only a short period of time as it snapped at the shifter. You just need to have the gears adjusted correctly and ease of the pedals while shifting. I own a st2 with the sturmey archer for 8 months now and no issues with this. If it jerks when changing gear, you have to check the tension. This is very simple: Shift into second gear and then check on the hub that the two markings point exactly towards each other. If not, you can adjust the gears on the handlebars with the small adjustment wheel. Then it will run smoothly again. I have found that gear changes go better if you keep pedaling lightly.

Can the gates belt drive be retrofitted to an older Stromer st2?

No, you need the slot in the frame to pass the belt through.

How do you keep the battery lid from opening without the battery?

It has a little magnet but you'd not be able to ride it or move it about much as it will open. It uses the battery as part of the closure system.
