I've been contemplating finding a Fiero to build and do a 3800 swap in, and now I'm seeing all kinds of videos lately on KZbin on them! I'm not sure if I want to mess with the supercharger or not, I guess it depends on how much money I want to throw at this thing. Looks like you might be a good source for information when it comes time for my build though, I'm definitely subscribing to your channel!

well you can slap one of these in as-is and it's amazing. and then slap an easy smaller pulley on and it's even better. took me a month to do a drop in swap, no mods. check out the instructions: www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/139530.html

Need to fab up an equal length headpipe setup on it! The best thing I ever did for my 3800 L67 swap. (other than the a/c) Sounds so much better! My YT page has the sound clips. You already have the trunk cut out. Go for it!

You guys both have some awesome content on this stuff. I would love to see some videos of it just driving around town and whatnot or on the highway. Does it get many reactions from people? Where I live in Canada cars like Fiero's are rare so I want to preserve mine (mine's been in the shop forever.... almost done) Thanks for the in depth video on the car keep up the content

I don't know if you will respond to this or not, but I want to go on a little rant just to see what you think... So I'm still new to owning and being part of the fiero community and was wondering where the best place to buy aftermarket parts or would most of them being need to be made by myself and what's the first thing that should be change/upgrade to with the stock setup.... Anything engine wise I was going to maybe start looking in to putting a b16a. but other that that I really don't know what to truly do other than wanting to make it street spec with I was thinking of pushing around 250-350 out of the honda engine with a turbo... and wanting to do body stuff as well but don't really have a look that I want to go for

Love that you're back making content on this car! I'm following along as I do one of my own. Is it necessary to upgrade the torque convertor with the cam you're using? And how street-friendly is that cam? I was thinking of choosing a slightly less radical one as mine will be mostly street driven. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
@FieroAustin2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! For the torque converter, it totally depends on what you want out of your car. I had a converter from a Bonneville (heavier car) and it was terrible for the fiero (20mph idle speed, without changing camshaft). If you want to drag race it, you really need the highest stall aftermarket torque converter you can find. Since I drive mine daily, I put the highest stall OEM converter in there. It's not that high stall but it definitely works good for dailying it around. Converter is in the build thread (JXFM). Honestly the XPZ camshaft is not bad on the street. It doesn't have a stupid lobey idle (116 LSA). Check out my modification selection chart in the build thread. It does shift the peak power band up into the 7,000 RPM range though, so it doesn't REALLY make sense for street driving relative to other camshafts. If you want to street drive, try a camshaft with higher torque at a lower RPM (ZZP VS?) or just forget it and put 1.9 rockers with the stock camshaft and call it a day, which is much cheaper and 1/10th the work.
@beaumontracer16402 жыл бұрын
@@FieroAustin Thanks for the reply. I was considering the XP-RPM. I don't really want to do much to the heads other than port match perhaps. I'm intrigued by the 1.9 rocker idea. What sort of gain would one expect from that mod? It sure does sound a lot easier. I'd like to get 350-375hp. The plan is cam, e85, pulley, injectors. Following along with your build specs minus head work (my engine doesn't have 50000 miles-so I want to leave it alone) I'll check out your convertor in the thread. I was eyeing the ZZP ones, but they're kinda pricey.
@FieroAustin2 жыл бұрын
@@beaumontracer1640 XP would be a great choice. Best cam you can get with no machining required or anything. It is VERY similar to XPZ, almost identical except slightly less intake lift. It does require quite a lot of $$ supporting mods though. Rockers are so easy though. With 1.9 rockers you could easily maintain emissions compliance if that is important in your state. They are bolt-on and could be done in an hour if you know what you are doing. I am not sure what gains you would pick up but i suspect it would be slightly under a VS cam or an Intense IS1X cam, as it has similar lift. Your choice man! If you want to casually mess around go for the rockers... too easy to pass up and no headache at all.
