Aww, you didn't seem to notice that during the apology, Bakugo called Deku "Izuku".. that's the first time we've ever seen Bakugo call Deku by his real name. Ever. That is set up and impact at it's finest. Also, never forget Iida is in that inner circle for Deku, little sad you never mentioned him when you were saying who would get through to him. Iida and Ururaka were his first friends at U.A., before even Todoroki or anyone else. So I love so much, that is was Iida who finally caught him and got Deku to break. "Meddling where you don't belong.. is the essence of being a hero right?" Hits me every time. And one more thing, one of the dub lines is "Going back.... is equivalent to killing you myself" and that just hits so deep man. This is one of the best episodes of one of the best seasons ever. Glad this series continued. Can't wait for more!

This is hands-down, my favorite episode not only of the season, but of the show. It shows how much these characters are good despite having little screen time. Every single one of them has been impacted by deku in someway, whether it was a change in attitude, mindset, or abilities. Because of that kindness that deku show to the, now it’s their turn to give it back. Tell them even though the odds impossible we’re still going to support you to the very end. Every single character is used at their best here. With the final push to reach deku being incredibly hype. It’s an amazing episode.

Fun fact, the final ramp that launched Ida up to Deku, was almost exactly the same as the one Deku came up with to help save Bakugo, when he had been kidnapped by the League of Villians.

Oh look, it's the episode that reinvigorated my love for anime. Holy Woah this episode is astonishingly hype, and it lands for Every. Single. Character. It's not just "hey, we're gonna save our friend" it's also "hey, this person has done so much for every single one of us. He's inspired us to he better in a major or minor way..." and that kills me because guess what? That's what All Might did for a lot of th as well.

Sad fact: During this episode Deku was starved, dehydrated, exausted, sleep-deprived, stressed and had open wounds and tired limbs to the point where he had to use black whip on the ground just to stand up... He was trying to do Arkham Knight levels of vigilantism while barely alive, to the point where he only put up that much effort to escape from his friends because in his perspective, him not getting away could end up killing them. Without Bakugo's surprise attack at the puppet villain last episode, he would have been torn appart by that croud of innocent people. The series would have ended just there ;-; Plus its cute how this was the first time Bakugo called Deku by his name, Izuku

I actually see Deku’s dark solo hero arc is very fitting. If you think about it almost every superhero had this little period. Spider-man, Ladybug, Batman, The Flash. Even All Might when he started They had this little period where they felt they had to go at it alone or they risk hurting the people they care for

I LOVE the full-circle moment of first Deku recognizing Bakugo needed Kirishima to reach out for him, and now Bakugo recognizing Deku needs Iida to reach out to him. The emotional maturity and growth in both of them to know when to put their personal feelings aside so their best friends can be there for them is just perfect.

It was less realizing he needed Iida to reach him, and more realizing he was the only one who could physically CATCH him, and they had to launch him in stages like the fucking space shuttle to even do THAT

Iida is Deku's best friend in universe canon and also the only one who would emotionally be able to reach him. The bond they have and the similar situation from before works because Iida and him shared it. Bakugo wouldn't have because his words wouldn't have resonated in the same way Iida does.

It’s still so crazy to think that Deku got so powerful, it literally took the combined effort of class 1-A just to catch him. Mind you he was exhausted this whole fight. Imagine Deku evading them all at full strength. Gran Torino was right. Deku really did become a monster😂🔥

S3 episode 23 they had a heart to heart where Deku had to save Kachan from an emotional breakdown. S6 episode 23 they had this heart to heart where Kachan saves Deku.

A really underrated moment is when Iida says he will always reach out to a lost child: it's a callback to when Iida's older brother told him that the coolest hero is the kind who would help a lost child. Ever since the Stain arc he's been trying to be the kind of hero his older brother was so him literally saving a lost child here was really cool.

At the part where Todoroki said this is exactly the situation all for one was hoping for; because it’s true he’s really too smart for him I mean, he even knew Deku would leave to go after him and Shigaraki but decides to keep hiding until Deku worn out. So yeah that’s a villainous mastermind for ya Who’s been trying endlessly to get the one quirk he keeps missing so many times and is living long enough to get it and now he just needs a perfect body of hatred to do it and we all know who that is

I really love this for this episode knowing how much his classmates were saying how he really helped him and how he was to him. But you know to me personally even though he had to keep the secret from one for all from them the moment he started going to UA It was only because he didn’t want to be that much special to them know he was chosen by all might the symbol of peace and when he left UA it was the right time to tell them his secret of his quirk because all those months he spend time with them and they became such good friends to him back in those months was really worth the wait of the big reveal

I can understand why the people at UA are protesting, and, yes, they do have the right. But, frankly, both Alicia and the characters in the anime are *far* more gentle with them than I would be. I mean, seriously. They quiver in terror and demand that the heroes make everything better as if they were gods instead of mortals, and then they won't even let one of their defenders come and rest in the same shelter as them? He's done so much while they have done *nothing,* and now they're being so ignorant, panicky, and ungrateful as to demand he be expelled from amongst them? I would have been absolutely enraged at them and screamed that they could take their useless, cowardly selves to other shelters and by all means let the door hit them on the way out. This is why Deku and company are heroes and I am not.

I cry EVERY time I watch this episode. It is emotionally heavy, action-y heavy, it is everything I needed and wanted and it single-handedly made watching every episode of every season up until this point worth it. Because we, just like Deku, have grown up with this class. No matter how much screen time they got together, no matter how different they were as people, they would go to hell and back to save their friend. I absolutely love it.

I don’t cry a lot when it comes to shows but this one of the few things that get me. This episode and the next have made me tear up every single time no matter how hard I try. Deku neglecting himself to prioritize the safety of everyone else is so in character for him it hurts to watch.

THIS is why Bakugo is my favorite character in the story. this is the full circle moment that i had waited for ever since the rivalry began after they fought each other that late night in the test grounds. and holy shit did Bakugo deliver. he laid himself bare, admitted to all of his faults AND FUCKING EXPLAINED WHY HE ACTED THE WAY HE DID! it's not just an apology, it's him putting everything he is out in the open. also, its the first time he has ever called Izuku by name and you can tell how much it means because Deku's face was unchanged by everything he said but the second Bakugo said his real name, you can see his eyes widen and he looks up

I love the fact that it wasn't just the few classmates that could keep up with him or have been with him the longest, even the small interactions DEKU had with the others. Even those small gestures, the one moment they saw Midoriya shine, that one time he smiled and encouraged them. It gave the entire class meaning to help out the lost child.

Also yeah it is dangerous for deku to be in UA but also AFO could always attack UA to make deku come back. So really having the only one with a chance at defeating afo in UA makes it the most dangerous and at the same time the safest place in japan

I forgot to mention a couple episodes ago - Deku found out that OFA can only be safely passed on to Quirkless individuals now, after All Might held it and stockpiled power for so long. If All Might had passed OFA to Mirio like Nighteye wanted, it would have been a literal death sentence, and it would have been uncertain if Mirio even would have survived long enough to pass it on to someone else.

What makes you think AFO isn't planning on attacking UA as a target in its own right? It's chock a block full of useful quirks, it trains people to fight villains, it is sheltering people from a new age of villainy, and it counts All Might as both alumni and faculty. He's going to attack UA regardless of whether Deku is there or not. It's just a question of which he goes after first. That aside..... It took over a year in universe, but Bakkugo FINALLY apologized for the years of torment and abuse. Though as with Endeavor, I don't think he's done or should be done. I also wonder how much of what he did he told the rest of the class. And if so, how much? Still, he said, "I'm sorry," which is an important step.

Also considering Deku has spent the last 3 months pretty much non-stop fighting against AfO and failing definitely has had an effect on him. He's watched their society pretty much crumble away once all the support structures were removed.

Even if this episode is great, that it come full circle for some things that go since the very begining, I'm just not ready to revive the start of the next one. I said multiple time that one of the character was the heart of the show, not as "MC" but in literal heart filled with compasion, and we are about to see it once again.

The only thing that stands out more to me than Bakugo’s HEART-WRENCHING apology is the fact that Deku doesn’t forgive him. And still tries to leave after he collapses. Proving as far as Bakugo has come, he was unable to save Deku. The only reason that Bakugo and Deku have gotten to a point where they seem like normal friends now is because Deku accommodates Bakugo’s bullying. Which until TODAY until THIS APOLOGY has always remained. These 2 didn’t become friends today with their problems resolved, Bakugo finally has gotten to a point where he CAN be friends with Deku. But that requires HIS legwork. Here’s the reality of this very uncomfortable situation. He just called him Izuku today because to him Bakugo acknowledged his worth as an individual person. And that IS progress from constantly calling him worthless. (which IS what Bakugo means, not Deku’s true definition with Uraraka. That NEVER changed in its use across the whole show) However, with that acknowledgement, it’s proven his thoughts on Deku the person BEFORE he worked up the courage to say this. And that’s he STILL didn’t want to give him that worth. And what he gave that worth to was OFA. The mission. To All-Might. THAT is where these two found communication. That and NOWHERE ELSE. If the subject of Deku the PERSON came up, Bakugo would belittle and scream at ANYTHING he does as flawed. His technique, his mumbling, his SMILE, heck even his progress WITH OFA. And he started off this inverntion STILL doing that. Bakugo ONLY acknowledges All-Might’s choice in season 3. And acknowledges OFA the power. Deku himself was NOT a part of that. This is their first TRUE nontoxic interaction. This is the start of their road to heal. If you want a TRUE mark of friendship, look at Iida and Uraraka. THOSE two have treated Deku properly with true respect to him as a person. Iida it took a while and that’s why HE didn’t succeed. Uraraka is the only person with the ability to breakthrough to Deku in his hellish state. Deku’s condition is at the heartbreak danger zone even now. And only someone who truly knows, understands, and accepts him as a person can get through that. In this case, only Uraraka has that ability. And we’ll see what she does next time.

I am one the rare few who honestly didn’t like this arc and that not because it wasn’t good, this is one of the most important moments in the entire story and Deku is literally running away from it. Both sides had actually a good point to prove but only one side is actually trying prove theirs. In any other anime this would have been a epic fight scene or struggle on who is right or wrong that would have been remembered for ages but in this current moment in MHA story, Deku is just a sad edgy boy who just didn’t know any better that just needed a bath and a hug.. It definitely would be cute if that needing a bath part wasn’t added. All the build up for a anticlimactic ending but I can completely understand why other people can like it.
