I live in a little market town in England that dates back to the 13th century. I moved here in retirement as I can walk to the doctors, the dentist, the chemist, the greengrocers, the small supermarket the hairdressers and the post office. We have two beautiful small charity shops and two lovely coffee shops and a local pub. There is a market square set with small stone cottages and a tiny town hall dating back to 1280. For me it is just perfect and I love it. The church dates back to the 1200’s and is beautiful. Am I lucky? Yes I am and I appreciate every minute of being here. Sending very best wishes to you and yours at this Christmastime.

@ritadyer929523 сағат бұрын
Not sure where you live, but for the most part I don’t mind as it gets me out faster. But Ingles grocery store in our area is awful! There registers talk to you and complain about something the entire time. You didn’t ring something up or you didn’t put it in the right area after scanning or something. The other day the poor guy up front did nothing but run to my aid because the register was uncooperative. The lady across from me was fighting with hers also and at least as upset as I was. The bags wouldn’t open. But Walmart I can handle. lol!
@patwagner930820 сағат бұрын
And then there are people like me. 😊 I prefer self checkout. I rarely have a clerk do the job. I prefer to bag my own groceries. Baggers put glass jars next to each other...that's just asking for cracked glass or worse. My dad was a grocer. He taught me so much about the business.

My most unpopular opinion is that you don't need to be married or have children to be happy. I'm 64 and have never been married or had children and am completely at ease with that decision. I've had an amazing life and don't feel at all deprived. I'm surprised at the number of people who view my life as somehow lacking, or selfish. As if being married or bearing children were the sole purpose in life. They either feel sorry for me, or think I'm missing out, or are worried because I'm on my own.

I agree about self check out, especially in the grocery store. I want a checker and someone bagging my groceries. In my 70s I appreciate a person taking my groceries to the car if I need it. I agree about gifts. Businesses push buying to help them sell. Too commercial now. We want to declutter not to collect more stuff. I have cut way back. I love pineapple on pizza with ham and olives. Fish on pizza, no way. I follow several frugal podcasts and are trying no spend on clothes unless from a thrift shop. Looking more at needs, not wants. Congratulations on your weight loss. Losing weight comes down to a simple formula: calories in versus calories out. However, there are many factors that can influence this, such as Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)-the number of calories your body burns at rest-which can vary between individuals. Things like medical conditions, medications, and genetics can all play a role as well. So, when you say you can eat anything and still lose weight, I absolutely believe you! As long as you’re in a calorie deficit, it’s scientifically true.

Self check out makes me crazy unless I only have a few items. Last time I went to Wolly World it was a bit earlier than normal and they only had self-check. I asked the head lady if I could get another basket or have someone bring me one because it is practically impossible when you have a full basket. Heavy meat packages, bottled beverages etc. About $100 or so. She motioned for the lady that was on exit 'watch' and that lady said she would open a lane and check me out. She didn't seem too happy but did it and I thanked her, explaining I had done a whole basket before and it was really difficult. I miss the days when you had a bunch of grocery they would unload it to your car for like a 25-50cent tip. With the cost of grocery you would think stores would want to do a little extra to get your business.

He started one last week and had followers and likes after being up less than a day. But his conscious got ahold of him and he took it down because he knew he wasn’t supposed to do it. I agree 100% with the gift giving on Christmas ,I wish it were never a thing. People spending money that they can’t afford for items that will be trashed in 6 months often for people who don’t need or appreciate the item. Christmas can be cruel for children who believe in Santa Claus but their parents can’t afford the gifts. Imagine being told that if you are good Santa will bring you presents .They see class mates get gifts worth thousands of dollars and they get socks,and a hot wheel car . Gifts should be given because you want to give not because you feel you have to give because it is a certain day. Most older people would rather have a visit, a call ,a card with a hand written message ,homemade goodies,asked to go out for a day trip or help with a home project.

You can lose weight eating anything, the key is portion control and exercise. I do know processed food is bad because it can effect other things than just weight. Self check out, only if they pay me! Gifts should be abolished, especially when its expected like Christmas. I say a birthday gift is more special than Christmas. Use your time wisely, i tried to be everything for everyone when i was young, if i could go back. Its not being selfish but instead of running yourself crazy, be a quality friend! Money buys happiness, whoever said it doesnt was some old rich miser. You might live way down in the states Dawn, but your heart is in Canada 🇨🇦, welcome to pineapple on pizza! Yes pineapple on pizza & baked ham. My cousin turned to one of those religions where they don't celebrate anything. His kids grew up knowing this. So they don't miss anything. Other families it might not go over so well if you just got rid of gift giving. I know I couldn't do it. I'm a 61 yr old giver. I don't expect things back. I spoil people. I only make 100$ a week , my husband pays the bills.I buy my own pet supplies, i buy food, spoil my scout troop, my nieces, my grandkids, and my grownkids. It always works out. It's a personal thing, if you don't want to do gifts. My parents don't. They give us stuff through out the year. I just got antique tea pots from her. I found an Elvis figurine at junk shop I gave to her for her collection. Giving makes me extremely happy! If a kid made me a picture w all their heart that's enough for me! Best gift ever.

You're right about telling kids stories about Santa that aren't true lol. I told my kids the truth about him while they were still fairly young...that he is a pretend man...and they didn't seem upset at all. I do have to admit that one year (before I told them the truth lol) we had cookies laid out for Santa on Christmas Eve, and later on that evening I took a bite out of one of the cookies to make it look like Santa had been there lolol. Everyone seemed really surprised when they saw that the next morning haha. That was fun though. Of course they eventually learned the truth.

My unpopular opinion is for important stuff, don't ask Google. Find reputable experts and ask for advice. Some people run around asking friends, strangers, and their own brain, then cry when the advice fails. Living on a Dime talks to her reputable repair guy before buying new appliances. The faster people learn that opinions are a dime a dozen, the happier they will be. In other words, seek out the highly rated smart people, and save all their info in a notebook in case you need them later. If you find people who are honest enough to explain all options vs push one expensive one, that creates trust to carefully believe them.

We have strong retirement savings, a solid bank account and no debt . We definitely do not buy things at the drop of a hat. We do tend to buy top quality with the intent of it lasting indeffinitly, therefore reducing what we buy going forward. I changed how we eat and shop because of major food safety /supply chain concerns, with saving a LOT of money on food as a byproduct. Im not kind to those unkind to me. No reason to be. We are friendly people and willing to help neighbors on occasion but want our own space. The pizza issue is a major concern. We are purists. Homemade cheese pizza here.

What has age got to do with it? I am your age. Never been overweight in my life. My blood work is great. There are younger people on restrictive diets because of health conditions. Age isn’t relevant.

I don't like warm pineapple so that probably leaves me out of the pineapple on pizza. I like self-checkout because the kids around here that work as the cashier are a sad bunch of people because they are stuck dealing with humans lol. An unpopular opinion around my area is people do not want to spend money on a neuter and I believe I do. If the cat is easy to catch. The real scary strays scare me to much.

If money can buy happiness, then no celebrity would ever commit suicide. Money impacts our livelihood but happiness comes from within

1. Eating anything you want on OMAD works initially, but you will probably find the weight stops dropping. 2. I’m not sure what “have it all” means. I have had success in many areas. It just takes dedication and determination. I have a career and raised a successful child. Many of my co-workers and peers are very successful in many aspects of their lives. 3. I don’t like to buy gifts for anyone except my son and his family. I usually just gift money, but buy things he has on a list. 4. Money doesn’t buy happiness, it provides a sense of security to meet life challenges. If your car breaks down, you know you can get it fixed or just go pay cash for a new one. 5. London is my favorite “no car” city. Great public transport. Not sure if it is still safe though. People give up to easily and like to come up with excuses of why they can’t do something. The best thing is to rise up to the challenges.

My brother died keto and has lost probably over half of his body weight. I think he’s under 200 pounds and was 400 or more. He’s much healthier now. My oldest son just broke up with his live in girlfriend and lost 13 pounds in a week and a half. He realized he wasn’t drinking cokes for stress relief and was eating only one meal a day and making healthier options without her and the stress. Losing weight for me is harder. I have a lot of stress and thyroid issues. I go to bed and wake up 10 pounds heavier. It’s really weird. I usually have to get some diet pills to get my metabolism boosted. It’s crazy! But I am 65. But with four abdominal surgeries and two back surgeries, extra weight causes me pain. We lived in Frankfurt, Germany when I was a teen and the public transportation and ability to walk a lot of places was nice. We live more rural now and we can’t walk a lot of places. Even the places that are close enough to walk to (convenience store, church) it isn’t safe due to no sidewalks and busy highways. I do miss that tho.

Yes, because the body has a set point so it’s hard to maintain weight loss. Money can help a crisis turn into just an inconvenience. Ie you car breaks down

My #1 unpopular belief, if I make an unkind statement about someone that is TRUE, I say that it’s not talking about the person if it’s true. Many folks have commented that’s not how it works😂 Love the video and your weight loss❤❤❤

You obviously don't have major health problems and was an emotional eater. I eat healthy, watch portions, but can't lose weight. I have thyroid issues, high heart rate, and bad menopause symptoms. The bingers and food lovers can lose weight with simple self control. Bragging about it over and over annoys those who have good reasons for staying obese.

I don't think she is bragging. She is sharing her happiness in finding something that is working for her after years of struggle. Every statement that people make isn't for everyone and shouldn't be expected to. Would I do what she is doing...no, but I am happy for her that she is doing well. She always prefaces what she says as its right for her and not preaching to others. I hope you have a good doctor who can help you with your medical issues but knocking someone who is succeeding isn't cool.

"The bingers and food lovers..." Spend years receiving unsolicited advice and diet plans shoved down their throats. It's very refreshing and freeing to find ways to lose weight while eating normally and encouraging to some viewers. Hopefully you can find solutions and relief to the health issues you're dealing with soon.
