But visiting in Largo Fl I have no access to "cooking".. I am opting to choose pulled pork, pulled chicken or that kind of thing for protein. Bananas are cheap.I do have access to a microwave to nuke my sweet potatoes . I have access to a refrigerator for my salads... I am still able to eat for about $1.20 cents per meal and I usually only eat 1 meal a day I snack on frozen mixed vegetables the rest of the day... 50 cents a day

Always pay yourself first. Set up a realistic amount & put directly into savings. Instead of donating money to a charity, volunteer your time. Save your change and / or dollar bills & let them add up for a few weeks. You'll have a small fund for tight situations & you won't have to dip into savings. Make muffins for breakfast! Use whatever healthy, hearty ingredients you have on hand. A nutritious muffin & a piece of fruit make a great breakfast. Spread with peanut butter for extra protein 😋!

I keep homade instant oatmeal in a gallon glass jar. I grind a pound of quick oats into flour, add a pound of quick oats, a cup of powdered milk, a 3/4 cup of dry sweetner, usually turbinado sugar, raisins and walnuts to a gallon glass jar. Roll it on the counter top to mix amd all we have to do is scoop out a half cup and add hot water.

I used to be a “yard guy.” I offered a small hometown service. Lawns mowed, hedges trimmed, beds mulched. Simple and easy. I had a website with online billing. Many of my customers paid with a credit card. I’d run city lots for $40 for a mow, trim, and blow. I would constantly do city lawn after city lawn-racking up 7-8 a day before going to work for 8 hours! Running a side-business like this can make you a lot of money. The easier you make it for a customer the more your business will grow! I wasn’t the cheapest, but because I had online billing and took credit/debit cards I had a large customer base. I also accepted checks, money orders, cash, bartered items, food, tools, and most anything else of value. My little lawn business went from an old pickup truck to 3 new trucks, two enclosed trailers, one flat trailer, several zero turns, a walk behind, and numerous Stihl tools and other items. It even paid for a brand new Amish shed at my house to store the stuff. All paid for by customers!

I think there are a lot of people who do watch their expenses and income closely, but there are also a lot of people who don't, either because it's too much of a burden (they think) or because they'd just rather be doing other things with their time I'm guessing. I'm one of the people who watches my money (incoming and outgoing) pretty closely, because to me it's so important to do so. I realize not all others may feel the same way as I do about that though.

I used to do cash envelopes all the time I stopped because I had a big expense and I had to really budget my money but in 2025 I’m going back to cash envelopes and make one for certain items like gas drugs, doctors and vet. it was really good when I did it. It stopped me from spending money just because I had so when I looked at my checking account I would say oh no, I can’t go there because that money‘s got to go for all these other bills, so thank you for reminding me of cash envelope because they really did help me. I pack food, and fill two thermoses with tea and coffee, if I am going to be driving a long distance. Stay away from online shopping - If I don't see it, I won't buy "it". I have a list, I go into the grocery story, grab my items, pay, and leave - I avoid the "fun" areas of the store. Laughing at myself, because you and I know there will be things in the fun aisles that will be tempting. I don't go there. It saves me mental pain as well as money. Have a wonderful December, dear humans. All of your efforts will pay off ... eventually, and you will be SO very happy you made the sacrifices and kept things real. Good for you!

Was in town today. Saw OLD beat up looking vehicles in the McDonald’s drive thru. Now, I don’t know any of those folks but I’ll bet they think they can’t save up for a newer car or new tires but don’t realize how much eating out at junk food McDonald’s cost ! Yikes ! We came home and I made eggs for us. And I’m sipping on a healthy hot toddy tea. It has ACV, ginger, turmeric and lemon in it. Great for digestion and liver cleansing.

Some of those people driving old cars might actually be frugal millionaires! Of course, those people probably don't eat at McDonald's though. But there are many people who purposely drive old clunkers even though they could afford a brand new car!

Cash only is my favorite. I hate using debit cards because then you have to subtract from your bank account. Cash skips that step. The only time I love using the debit card is when I'm getting gas and I have 2 or 3 babies in the car. Debit card at the pump eliminates having to unbuckle the babies and bring them inside, which is so stressful. I have no side hustles. I try to drink mostly water. I hardly ever go to the library anymore. When I was working, I'd pass by a library to or from work, and I could stop or drop off books in the drop box. But now I'm not going out as much, and I don't want to make special trips. Plus, it now takes me longer to read a book, because I have less time to read, so I'm afraid I won't finish the book in time. I know, you can re-check out books. But I'm afraid I'll forget, because my life is more stressful now & has more moving parts. So I buy the books I read. Also, I have a fear of paper books not being available soon, as fast as technology moves, so I want paper books for my descendants. I guess I'm a book prepper.

Canadian here, and always been confused by the credit debit system in the USA. When you say you don’t have a debit card does that mean you don’t have a bank card or are those separate? Cause in Canada a bank card is your debit and the credit card is your credit card you always have to pay off. Just confused cause it seems like you guys have 3 different cards over there.

Thing is, she had never earned a paycheck and only had her small allowance. We are teaching her how to handle larger sums of money. We have a plan to pay off her student loans. She puts 10% into her savings, and the rest towards her loans, keepiny $25 a week for gaa and personal needs. She's free to live with us for the rest of her life if that is what she wants under the condition, she doesn't have cc debt. Our guess is she will be hime 5 years

My favorite are: ➡1.25 Dryer Balls from Dollartree. Basically plastic/rubber balls with spikes Clothes dry much faster now. ➡Save $80 a month charging my car while at work. The tipping point to realize I needed to be a Caregiver instead of my $22.50 per hour job. I charge $22.50 for Caregiving but sleep 9+ hrs of each 24 hr shift and gain that $80 charging value. ➡ Organic Tumeric Powder mixed w/Baking soda as toothpaste. Healthier than toothpaste and my teeth remain not bright, but not dull due to excessive coffee use. Tumeric is a natural teeth whitener AND Superfood so I swallow some ➡ Grow sprouts from seed at home on my window seal. Saves about $50-$60 a month for our family of 3.
