The area that gets intermittent shade has done awesome with 1.5" of water a week. Other section of the yard that gets full sun is getting smoked this season (increased to 2" water a week but it may have been too late to head off the stress). Can't say I regret moving to Blue heat but the areas with full sun need a lot of attention compared to TTTF. So if you have a stand of bermuda, what are you going to do if tttf starts creeping back into your bermuda? LoL you need to get your hose end sprayer filled with soap and hit those hot spots. If you’re going to move, do you think an astute home buyer will want to manage a bermuda lawn? I threw up some ideas here. I have about 1000 sq ft of it in my back yard and it’s still green as can be. The rest of my TTTF is completely brown. Again not looking for a golf course just a decent lawn with few weeds. . What’s your thoughts?

I’m in middle Tennessee and I started my turf journey because of building a new house and I stumbled upon your channel and fell in love with fescue first but also had a fascination with all types once I figured out fescue. With the summer heat and drought we have been having I have been highly considering doing the rest of my yard, which is the biggest portion (like 73,000 sq ft), in Bermuda just due to the maintenance of it being significantly less. I work a full time job that is 12 hr days and I mow other properties on my off days and also have 4 year old triplets so saving time and money on maintenance would be a plus and I would slightly be ok with a slow down in turf care come fall/winter at my own property. I’ve always liked both but I think I would love Bermuda just as much as fescue! Can’t wait to see your videos on this grass type as well and will be looking at your alpha elite come next spring/summer!

First of all, your proclamation of faith is strong, impressive and appreciated. Secondly, I see that it could affect your income but you're saying you want to do ffescue and Bermuda so you're reaching more viewers... minus the Bluegrass folks but you can still help them. I've watched a ton of your kids and I don't care anything about Bluegrass. I live in Ky and have a ky31/turf type tall fescue/wild Bermuda front lawn and 400 Zenith Zoysia plugs in my back yard with all of the above mentioned grasses. I'm experimenting and having fun. Most of the grass guys are having fun. You do you and I'll see you on the next video! God will provide and your transparency is refreshing. PS can you give us any input on huMichar vs biochar vs humic acid and when to apply? I'm guessing humic stuff during growing season but can t be applied in the winter too or just biochar or nothing in the winter?? No worries if you don't want to weigh in. Thanks!

How much less water will Bermuda require than fescue? I just couldn't imagine switching my fescue to Bermuda. I doubt we'll have this kind of consistent summer heat every year. I know you did the well so you wouldn't have to use city water, but would it be possible to add a separate meter so you could have the option to use city water in the event you need more water than your well can provide?

Old academy member here -- I have had this opinion for years due to the cost of keeping cool season grass in this area. Bermuda in this area with a rye overseed is just the most cost effective.

Great overview! Thanks for reiterating how difficult it is to control common bermudagrass. I’ve learned to let it coexist in my zoysia.

It's more than the grass! Aren't you the one that says..."Get your dirt right"? Lol. I've taken that as my mission, and it is the foundation of keeping a healthy lawn! Your honest approach to things is amazing. You are willing to try things to get whatever you're doing done to the best of your ability. I'll never be able to have most of your cool lawn tools, but it's nice to see what's out there. I loved the bed edger video. How to tuck in that pinestraw afterward. There are countless other videos we all enjoy! Just keep being you and pump out videos that help everyone no matter what type of grass!

Pete go for it. After watching you for several years, I'm thinking of converting my 2KSqft of Lawn to Bermudagrass as I do have some common Bermuda that will sometimes creep into my yard from my adjacent yards. Looking forward to another Pete lawn renovation.

I appreciate your knowledge/videos of cool season grasses. Having Bermuda grass in a section of your yard isn't that big of deal to me. I'm in northern Illinois and my mind drifts to putting in bermuda.😂 GCI Turf Academy is and always will be my go to for my yard supplies. Have a great day Pete.

Hey Pete I have 80k sq foot (1.8 acres) of Bermuda and I'm debating buying the 50 gal cart buddy. Do you think this is enough sprayer for a yard this size or would you suggest I go with a 90 gallon 3 point sprayer for my tractor. I want to spray 1gal/1k and would have to mix twice with the spray buddy. Furthermore concerned about how heavy it will be to move through grass when full. What are your thoughts?

Greetings Pete, I know you feel about this year summer in North Carolina. I will continue to learn from you and just like you & your wife I'm a fescue guy. I just started my KZbin journey. Blessings.
