Great degree for those who dont know the specific job they want. This allows you the flexibility to move around gain experience and narrow down your career path. Anything u can learn for free is fine but it wont come with a diploma which is what good paying companies want. Google does not equal experience or look good on a resume. This degree gets u in the job then u can refine ur skills with experience. Grad school is a great option to further ur career into ur specific interest once u find it and opens doors for upper management and increased pay. This degree gives u these options so ur not stuck with a degree or job u no longer r interested in after a few years. I have a BA bachelor degree and a master's in management. im a business admin major right now(just finished 1st year), and ive always known this is what i wanted. personally ive always known that working a 9-5 until im 60 isnt my thing, and the plan for me has always been to get my major + masters and slot into a 9-5 for a few years until having enough capital to safely invest and be financially independent. ideally i want to be out of the 9-5 by 30 if not earlier, simply so i can experience life for what it is and not be constrained by a corporate machine. being a jack of all trades and master of few has made it so that by nature i like to have my fingers in multiple pots at once just to have a few different options and failsafes, as well as keeping my mind active. and while business admin is a very general degree, i can even see as much from my first two semesters, it allows for you to really find your own way to getting the degree and open up new doors for yourself that may not have even crossed your mind in the past. for me personally, as well as a few of my friends, getting this degree serves as a means to an end rather than the end all. and its not abt chasing a lifestyle or a far off fantasy, rather its about creating a life for myself that is better than the one im living; better than the one my parents have lived, and bringing up those around me who ive formed irreplaceable bonds with. and if i happen to change the world along the way, then great. but if i dont then thats okay with me, bc ill have affected some lives even if not as immediately as i once hoped.

I dropped out my first year of college while majoring in Business Administration so I could dial in on my e-commerce business, specifically Amazon FBA. The other reason why I left was because I asked my professor how much they made in business. At the time I had the mentality that I wasn’t going to listen to anyone that didn’t at least make 1mill +, and hearing that my professor never made the amount or really any substantial amount really sealed the deal for me, plus I had to take some algebra class which I thought was pretty idiotic and useless, since my entire time in business, I’ve only used basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I’ve learned a lot about business by actually getting into business. But looking back i definitely think I should’ve stayed so i could land a job and use the money from the job to help further fund my business ventures in more aggressive ways.

I majored in business administration with a major in business administration (general business) with honors back in may 2019. Got offered a few assistant manager jobs at retail stores with a low pay salary. Ive been currently working in the oil fields earning good money but I have no job security. I’m registering back to college with a major in nursing instead and while I’m in college I’m going to apply to the border patrol academy. The reason why I’m going back to college is because I’m afraid I won’t pass the polygraph test since many fail so I have a plan b being a nursing degree. In my opinion, it all depends where you live at; I live in South Texas surrounded by many small towns and cities and the only jobs available here are teaching law-enforcement and nursing. If you live in a big city go for it if not major in something else like engineering or the jobs mentioned above. Businesses administration with a major in Accounting is good only if you are planning to get cpa license if not it’s really not worth it. Unless again you live in a big city I have a college buddy who majored in buss accounting who already has 4 plus years as experience and only gets $18 an hour with 40 hours a week. Being that your a CS graduate, you would probably be much better to specialise in an area that you want your business/startup to focus on rather then doing a business/mba degree if your thinking of doing further study. However to be honest with you, you probably already have the skills to start a venture, if anything maybe find a co-founder and a problem to solve, the more personal, the better. However if your looking for a resource, then I recommend YC Startup School.

hahaha, no it doesn't, unless you are doing a masters with a STEM undergrad under your belt. Outside accounting and stuff that are automated, it limits you to jobs you can get with a GED or high school diploma. It's not quantitative enough for data science. Programming is too weak for cs jobs, you have no credits for medical, you can't do engineering, and you can't do many other things. It also locks you out of the skilled trades. Hey shane, I’m not sure where I should comment this. I hope you see this, though! From the super extensive online research I have done online (in regards to computer science (and eventual software development) there are significant downsides which are hardly spoken about. For example- The fact that it is one of the hardest degrees, the cs major path is extremely linear (meaning will do something like compsci 1, with college algebra, then compsci 2, with trigonometry, etc...meaning everything builds upon itself so not only is it crucial to try and get good grades for these courses but you have to basically memorize the first math courses you started with (freshman year) till like senior year. Also people don’t seem to mention, you don’t/can’t get a software development job right out of college without coding experience (aka meaning you need to not only do a hardcore major, and memorize it all, but you also have to learn programming languages, and as if that wasn’t enough the majority recommend getting into an intership while in college. So compare that to a normal college student, or even an engineer who has insanely hard classes, and instead you have a huge plate to handle for being a succesful cs student. Imagine trying to balance hard schoolwork and memorizing it all, then having to learn code (maybe a coding club), and then having to work an internship) it’s obvious as to why they get paid so much, and why the dropout rate is so high, regardless of how many times it pops up everywhere online. CS has almost nothing to do with software development all it teaches is theoretical knowledge on computers (mathematics a lot) where as a software developer mainly codes, and does problem solving. They need to change the curriculum and situation to be a different major and study, because it’s horrible. Imagine learning about business law throughout school (theoretically speaking) to get a job as an accountant. You won’t actually know how to be an accountant, and you’ll probably have went through hell trying to learn all the legalities of businesses for absolutely nothing.

But the issue is you don't know more content, you just know a wider variety of content at a lower level. Specializing is how you get success. Finding that one small niche (like accounting or finance) that you're just an expert in. You're still going to take a wide variety of business courses (at my school the difference between a business and finance degree is like 12 different classes) but you're going to learn specialized info that enables you to have almost guaranteed employment after undergrad. You don't "know more" information because you do Business Admin, you actually end up knowing less, just about a wider variety of topics. The difficulty of accounting and finance courses are also well respected and employees in other business sectors respect candidates who get them.

I have a business admin degree. There are some things you should know - You will 100% be sitting in a cubical for the first 3-5 years. No way around it. If that doesn't fit your style, then I'd suggest a degree that will put you out in the field more. Cube life is.. Ok.. for most. 99% of business admin majors consider themselves lucky to score an actual office. Consider a business admin degree as a way to branch off into a specialization with a masters. I've gone through masters programs and most (STEM unlikely) will take a business admin degree. I'd suggest to major in business admin if you plan a specialized focus in a masters degree. Far too often it seems that a business admin degree might as well be a "general major" degree. In other words, it's a "congrats on your extremely basic degree plan..". Lot's of people choose business admin. Use this degree as a stepping stone toward a specialization. Otherwise you will be on the $50k - $65k (tops) portion. Trust me, business admin has its perks, but it is historically given to students who don't know 'exactly' what they want to do.

I had a lack of knowledge of anything business related, infact I came into my job with zero skills or qualifications, but rather a strong desire to give it a go and work hard. While my official role is in Accounts Receivable, I am also currently training in Payroll, both of which are in my course structure. My workplace set a group of us ladies up studying the Cert 3 in Business so they could upskill staff. I am lucky to live in a rural area of Australia to have this opportunity, because I know I would never have gotten an opportunity like this living in the city. What I decided to do is get music business certifications rather than a degree and pursue BA as a bachelors degree so I get a knowledge not just for music but overall business. Marketing and management are big in the industry. As far in the technical part, I decided to do trade school for AE/MP along with some course certificates. I thought of going to school to learn overall music like Fullsail or NYU , The New School.. but I couldn’t afford it , and also because I didn’t want to waste time with evaluation, and audition process. But I did apply for scholarships and if that opportunity comes then more knowledge but pretty much I’m self teaching myself. I will graduate this year with Associates in Early Childhood Education since I only have professional background in Education and Healthcare. Anyways if there’s anyone else in BA or Music industry.. please comment and let me know your experience 😭as I’m still in the process of all this.

I have a degree in Engineering, 10 years later I opened my own business and I am going back to school to study BA maj in Management, to help me gain the basic knowledge of Business. I have also moved up into Management position at work already where my Engineering knowledge is of no use anymore and I felt like I need to learn more about Management skills.

Does bba(finance) or bba in finance mean bba with a concentration/specialisation in finance? In which year do we choose our specialization or do we choose our specialization right at the point of admission? And when we choose specialisation in bba in say finance do we still get to study all the things that we would get to study in a bba general? Could anyone please answer these questions of mine??🥺🥺 I'm really strugglinglsdg

Its simple actually, u want 80000 job, u do computer science or electrical engineering, u want 50000 job, u do business, u want higher salary, do certification in addition to business degree, u want something where the salary is out of control and will put your state in debt, u do nursing cause the union regulations demand a constant pay increase, pretty soon engineers will be making much less than nurses.

What if you want to start your own business eventually? Maybe after 5 years or so, you want to open a business. Which concentration of BA would be good for that? There's accounting, finance, HR, IT, economics, marketing, sales, etc.

You may ask this question directly to the school/university of your choice. They surely will be glad to answer, as every school offers different concentrations.

Buis admin vs International Buisness. What are your thoughts guys. I live in Belgium, where degrees are 3 years. Will it be harder to find a job in an other country with an international Buisness degree. Cuz i will only have a bachelor and it's not really recognized abroad, they see it just like a marketing but different broad degree? I wanted do supply chain management, but didn't want to be stuck in logistic. But accoutancy or supply chain is where the money are and importantly opportunities are sadly.

You are very lucky if you know what you want to do for your life when you apply for an undergraduate program, which is why business degree is valuable.

My business admin degree has an emphasis on logistics and supply chain management. I think that specific concentration gives it a little more attention, but that’s just been my experience. I’m actually a small business owner now, and my degree has been such and asset for managing all aspects of my business.

I recently just got my bachelors in business management. I currently work in a school right now and been doing teacher assistant for 15 yrs. I’m really having a hard time finding a job because it seems I don’t have the background. Can someone please give me some suggestions on what I should do or what to say in interviews.

i think I'll just do accounting since there isn't any real clear path that leads to high paying jobs meanwhile if I did accounting I could into big 4 audit or if I don't get accepted there after graduation, work in similar firm for a year then switch to big 4, work my way to manager then either go into industry to become a credit controller and then become a CFO or just simply stay in big 4 and work my way to partner (hopefully) I spent so many hours researching about paths in business administration and I couldn't find any clear path like this or anything that leads to a very high paying job (say eventually 200k+ after years of experience) so I think I'll just do accounting

Hi! I am currently 16 and I am in ninth grade. On my senior I am planning to take the ABM strand which stands for Accountancy and Business Management. Now I am wondering if its a good idea to take both Accounting and Business Admin as my college course. Anybody's response is highly appreciated.
@andrepoghosyan82693 жыл бұрын
Finance tends to be a bit more marketable than businesses admin/mngmt. It also overlaps well with accountancy. You can always get an MBA later on if you want to anyways.
@Cella.babyyyy2 жыл бұрын
You could always minor in accounting, accounting is quite difficult in my opinion.
@dar72792 жыл бұрын
If you do an accounting degree or finance degree you are going to go through most of the business managment classes anyways. I would just focus on either finance or accounting as youll learn all the regular business things with those degrees.

I chose Business Management Econ in UC Santa Cruz because I have an clearer indication of what business I want to pursue after graduation. For people with no prior work experience, foundation, etc, they would generally major in engineer, cs due to it being a more specific skill. Currently, many tech companies like zoom, Microsoft, and Amazon are in high demand with people who are exceptional with coding and analyzing data, therefore encouraging more people to major in cs. Once people get accepted into big tech companies, they get paid up to 56 dollars an hour. I know because I have a friend who got accepted to Stanford and currently working in zoom.

I graduated in the Fall of 2021 with a Business Admin Degree concentrated in Management with a HR management minor. My first job I'm about to start (after 6 months of searching) is a Project Manager position that basically requires a engineering degree. After job searching for the past six months it basically just comes down to experience that companies look for during interviews. With that being said if you're in college try and get a internship during the summer, even if it's not that great. Networking also is a huge thing to do while in college (Linked in) that will help tremendously with opportunities.

I hate school, but graduated in Business with concentration in Hospitality Mgmt. Yes. Hospitality sector is painful. I earned first "career position" through networking. I left operations mgmt, hoping to switching to office setting for my mental health. So is it worth it? A lot of places want a bachelor's as a requirement, but work experience and networking is very important.

I'm about to graduate in Business and Computer Science and your points are spot on an exactly why I chose them. I'm a more technical guy who enjoys coding but have the soft skills to lead so it fits right into my goals. I've covered systems analysis, strategy, MIS, operations, and project management, all which compliments software engineering perfectly. The youtube algorithm really did wonders
