Hi Shane, I’m confused on the transferring work experience & certificates portion. WGU states you need to “Apply” in order to use their Transfer Evulation Team to determine if my work experience & or certificates garner any credit or not? But you’re saying do not “Enroll”? Are these 2 separate activies, “Applying & Enrolling”? I don’t want to apply & request guidance from their Transfer Evalulation Team if it’s going to start the clock on my enrollment?

I was dumb enough not for find you until after I enrolled in WGU. I’m going for 1 year with credits from a community college. I’ve heard of doing the pre exams first over and over and studying what you failed to pass. I’m definitely using the cheat sheet for a easy way to see everything.

This is the best method. Take the pre-assessment first, isolate weakness and study to strengthen those areas. This greatly accelerates the process for those with zero interest in juggling other organizations like Sophia. Example: I took the pre-assessment, studied for 3 days and took then took the actual assessment for Principles of Management - C483. I walked away with a Pass and Exemplary in most of the sections.

WGU doesn’t take any transfer credit once you start. So you’d be best pushing your start date back. UMPI however does allow you to do them simultaneously.

I dont recommend it since they're two different approaches in education. Also keeps this in mind: only in business major shoot for that AACSB Accredited programs that will get you anywhere around the world. For all other majors, WGU is a great alternative.

@@StillTheVoidAACSB is great, but really useful only for grad-level (e.g., MBA) programs. WGU (and many other institutions) have similar (albeit, not as “popular” as AACSB) business accreditation as well (ABCSP), but again, that really matters only at the grad level. Rarely will a company hire you into a high position in the organization fresh out of school with only a bachelor’s degree, so at that point it doesn’t matter to them whether your business degree (or that you have a degree in business at all) has AACSB accreditation or not.

Keep in mind that regarding BUSINESS majors, this is not AACSB Accredited which is like the gold standard of accreditation that get you higher in the food chain in the business world like Patrick Bateman. WGU offers ACBSP which good 'enough' in the states but the key question which I could probably ask Shane is: Do Employers CARE where you get education and has there ever been a time that WGU students are respected more than your traditional Ivy League student? I would like to see another vid regarding business students beating ivy league students in those finance fields or related positions.

Major something you NEED, Minor in something you love. The choice is yours alone. Fuck everyone else.

I can't pay my bills with peoples approval, and those ivy league people you mentioned have jobs before they get degrees because of networking and connections no degree will beat connections.
