Thing is people DO eat Pokémon. It's just VERY rarely brought up. No 12 year old really wants to hear that their cute little Farfetch'd is an endangered species because it's SO GODDAMN DELICIOUS. Plus there are lions and tigers and bears. Those fuckers gotta eat. ALTHOUGH. I don't know about the games, but the cartoon did mention normal dogs a few times. I think in the original Pokémon we see normal birds and fish, too.

Grade 1. The Pokéball is bigger from inside as it has no time and space. It contains Pokémon healthy environment which suits only them 2. Pokémons gain better bond with their trainers through "cockfighting" aka training. It is like the Pokémon is a football-team and the Pokémon trainer is a coach 3. Pokémons can escape the Pokéballs too, and they are smart enough (especially Pokémons which are Psychic types) to refuse anything they don't want from fighting to being captured. Previous have been seen and proven multiple times 4. Pokémons have appeared outside their balls on many other occasions as well, other than just fighting. This is also shown many times already by the Pokémons which simply refuse to be in their balls. But there are other occasions too 5. Like I said above, Pokémons evolve (literally) and improve through battling. So it is only natural that everyone wants their Pokémons what is beneficial for them 6. Pokémons don't die because of battling. Although they do die eventually. Can't deny that ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 7. Giving money exists only as a game mechanic so that the game will have you get at least some consequences about losing. Of course that would make no sense in real life, if it would not be due that they are most likely betting. The character is their own entity, by no way they portrait you. They want to bet their money and battle, so that they can become the best, help their Pokémons and so that the game can be a game and function. Realistic situations aren't the best at supplying interesting game ideas, now are they? 8. In the Pokémon world, ten years olds are concidered as people in the legal age and going off to train Pokémons is . . . some kind of growing-up-ritual. Because that makes sense, yea? 9. Ever heard of friendly rivalry? Or sibling rivalry? Rivalry isn't always a bad thing, sometimes with people who share strong affection that's even normal! 10. Professor Oak is old man, he probably has dementia. Duh. And of course he can't remember the name of his own grandson as an excuse for you as the player to name him for your liking, besides people in real life as well can contain only as much in their heads. He studies Pokémons every day so it eats up his memory capacity, what did you expect? He is a ordinary man, even if a professor This is what happens when you try to apply real life science into games which have their own sets rules, aka The Game Theories. Some Pokémons are used by bad people to do bad things but then the Pokémons tend to be bad as well. And Pokémon universe has some unsettling things on it, granted. But in the end we are talking about a video-game, so who gives a fuck? Ps. This wasn't supposed to be this long, but you made many invalid points. And no, I don't hate you. Far from it, I am one of your subscribers and I genuinely like your content. I just felt like I had to correct what you said, because things you said are stuff that someone who is casual about Pokémon would say. Ok hold on in the 4th gen pokemon game (diamond pearl and platinum) there is a library in the town at the bottom west(Canalave City). In that library there are books you can read that provide background to the pokemon world. In one of those books it said that WILD pokemon were jealous of pokemon with Trainers. Also ,past gen 1, there is a hidden meter, called happiness. Certain pokemon like Golbat and Pichu evolve once their happiness is full. One of the ways to increase their happiness is to have them participate in battles. So if you combine those two things it means that Pokemon want to have a trainer and that Pokemon want to participate in battles.

This is just an excuse. A pretty silly and stupid one, to be honest. Just as the one for Quiet to be wearing a slutty outfit in MGS. And just because of it, it changes nothing. If you make a game where your goal around is to rape people, cut their hands and put into slavery, but will have a "happiness meter" that feels with them being repeatedly raped and beaten while they scream in pain (but they actually are happy, they won't all of this) - it is still very fucked up.
