That aside though, you are forgetting an important consideration and one that I think the Jet emphasized at the end of that discussion with Shaq, Charles, and EJ. One team, a veteran and well experienced championship caliber team, did exactly what they were expected to do. The other team (a very young squad with little experience) came out of nowhere, led by SGA, and secured the first seed. To me, either player had a good argument for MVP. Again, that was Shaq's opinion/point. It's fine if you don't agree that SGA was worthy of MVP but to say Shaq doesn't have a point is not really matching reality... And that's just my opinion 😁

Let me give a different perspective. Shannon (he ain’t Unc to me) has a way about him. Like he’s careful to point out, he isn’t a trained journalist. Thus sometime it’s not what he says, it’s how he says it that bothers people. Like I heard someone else say, Shannon made his comments sound matter of fact. At least when Shaq gives his opinion that’s what he says it is. Also Shannon saying if Shaq had HIS work ethic anything is out of pocket. That smacks of a little arrogance. Even when Shaq and Kobe had the sit down, Kobe reminded Shaq that he said he knew he was the baddest and just wanted him to realize his potential. Kobe can say that. But Shannon took it further saying Shaq is jealous because he only won 1 MVP is what really triggered Shaq. Shannon also implied that Shaq felt he was robbed but really wasn’t when he really was. Looking back at those years, Nash shouldn’t have any MVPs. Shaq or Kobe deserved one and Kobe deserved the other one based upon stats and their value on their team. So when you consider all of this, I wouldn’t call how Shaq responded as being sensitive or hating.
