Thank you for joining me today, I have three new makes for the week and many new sewing projects coming up.
My first make for the week was the Vetiver Top by French Navy patterns, this is a great sewing pattern with princess seams back and front for a great fit, unfortunately the fabric did get a pull in it but still quite wearable.
The Vetiver Top by French Navy:
www.frenchnavy...
My next make was the Tessuti Robe for one of my daughters in a lovely Indian block print fabric I got on sale at spotlight, my favourite dressing gown pattern.
Tessuti Robe:

My last make for the week was an All In Easy Fit Shirt by Pattern Emporium, my favourite shirt pattern, I did extend the length and squared off the back and front hemline to create a straight line, making the back longer than the front with side splits, I made this shirt specifically to wear over white pants. The fabric is a lovely viscose, from The Artist Muse box from The Dahlia Sewciety, the fabric is so gorgeous im sure I will be getting a lot of wear out of this make.

Elodie Wrap Dress by closet Core:

What a great video, Deb! I love all of your makes, especially the Tessuti robe and the PE shirt - it's one of my favourites too. Hi Deb I just love your new shirt and looks great with white pants. I like it with the top button done up. The fabric drapes lovely. I hope the Elodie dress turns out, that fabric is stunning. I like the idea of fully lining it. You've put alot of effort into pattern placement and using the stay tape with stitching thru it I'm sure it will be a success. I've never done the block interfacing approach, unfortunately I never seem to have enough fabric to do that. Love your plans for the coming week. Enjoy your sewing projects ❤❤

@@sewingseamswithdeb Thanks Deb, the fabric I made the shirt in is beautiful fabric, I like the top button done up too. The Elodie dress is nearly finished just hanging it to see if it drops and if I need to trim any off, so glad I lined it and the front sits really well, I think partially because of the stay tape. Block interfacing is gives a really good result but you do have to have enough fabric, so I can’t do it all the time. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

Lovely makes once again, and I’m going to steal your idea of lengthening the PE shirt and the sleeve hem because that is genius - and it looks great! The pleasure of rural life is that you get to hear frogs and trains without leaving the house! Glad you're having rain over there. Here in the west it is heating up a little bit. We also have a train running near us - It passes through about once a week in the mornings and occasionally I see it in the afternoon unloading at the CBH bin which is only 3km from our little farm (it isn't really used for anything other than grain storage now). It's a long weekend here, celebrating the King's birthday and the start of of school holidays which also means the Perth royal show kicks off today. I won't be going with my children as I'm working this holidays - I'll do other activities with them instead. MY long weekend has been effectively spoiled as I had planned to spend all three days catching up and finishing some much needed projects. Instead I have to deep clean my house because with a family at home during the day, I come home to some unholy mess which I am less than impressed over (their dad is very traditional and doesn't help with housework and the children, two of which are now adult age, no matter how I have tried to influence them, seem to have followed.) I'M USING JUST TODAY! Because I need to sew for my mental health and I feel quite down in the dumps over the mess. At least then I can feel as though I can concentrate on sewing without being distracted by a messy home as I have to sew at the kitchen table whilst I save up to renovate a room to make into my sewing space. SO I need to hem the Closet core crew Alabaster tee, Find the cuff pieces for my Closet core Jenna shirt and the skirt pieces for the dress (they have gone walkies so cleaning up with help me locate them again), I want to make the Style arc Tatum dress and get started on preparing the Poppy shorts (Closet core crew) pattern to make longer length shorts for work (I work in early childhood education and care as a Diploma qualified educator) and also the new top pattern from Pattern Emporium and the Rita pants from Closet core - I have some viscose tercel that I dyed navy blue which would work nicely I think and also some gorgeous peony pink gabardine. I know I won't get through everything this weekend but as I am doing an early shift this week I can grab time after work to slow sew my way through the list.

Hi Tamara, lovely to hear from you, yes the trains and the frogs are a great plus of rural life. No help with the housework, they need a roster of chores, ask my daughters, now they can all cook, clean and run a house. I hear you with the messy house it is really off putting, my sewing room gets the same and i need to stop and clean and vacuum, then I feel better and can continue on sewing, I do try to clean after each project is completed. I love the look of the Tatum Dress, a very versatile piece and can be made up in many different fabrics. I hope you get some sewing done, I am unassuming you need to pack up your sewing every time which would be a real hassle. Wishing you a wonderful week, Deb

Really like your shirt, Deb. The length looks great. I used that stay tape on my Charli Anne wrap dress. It worked really well. When we first moved into our estate 30 something years ago, when it rained, we used to get so many frogs. The road would be covered in them. I think it could have been because we back onto the wetlands. But sadly, these days, we hardly see any. Have fun with your grandchildren. 🌸
