At the beginning of the show in the early years, if I remember correctly, (and I'm almost certain I do ) before the scene above, Fred MacMurray had a scene by himself that welcomed viewers to the show, then the above came on the screen. Also at the end of the show before the ''shoes'' rolled.. it showed all the fellows Mac included, peeking their heads out the door, one head below another from Steve, Bub, Mike,Robby, Chip, and Tramp in that order, thanking the viewers Mac had most of the lines but Bub and each of the boys said one word then the shoes rolled. I guess through the years that has been edited out.

Frank DeVol later recycled the opening notes again for the 1963 Screen Gems "dancing sticks" jingle. The notes and pitches to both songs sound similar.

My dad had two older brothers; he was the youngest. I could picture my dad and his bros and parents in a show like that

Today’s shows are boring compared to the old days, this is my favorite 1960’s sitcom. After this one is Andy Griffith.
"My Three Sons", starring two guys who aren't any of the sons, lol.

It's because it's a reference to an ancient secret that is so closely guarded. Some of us can feel the vibes when we see it though.

William Frawley died in 1966 and his Bub character left the show and moved to Ireland while William Demerest joined the cast as Uncle Charley.

Even in the late 60s-70s period, when I watched it (w/ Beverly Garland & Dody), Fred often came on at the start and said “Hi, welcome to our show” ..I’d like to see Sam & Dean Winchester do that just once..
@abcbatman19664 жыл бұрын
artytoons William Frawley was let go about a year before his death. His health and ability to remember lines was declining and the producers publicly suggested that he had “retired”. He was reportedly quite angry at fellow Irishman Demarest for “stealing” his job..
