If you need Spelling of those names: Species names are never capitalized, except when they begin a sentence. In that circumstance it might be preferable to give the Genus as a capital letter followed by the species name. melanochrysum verrucosum serpens squamiferum *** Leaf shape is like "Florida" but has hairy petioles like serpens. "Florida" is a cross of squamiferum with P. pedatum, which has a smooth and glossy petiole. So "Florida" comes up in between, with scaley petioles. el choco red gloriosum "Jose Buono" billietiae montanum

Would you say these on this list are as easy to take care of as monsteras......... If not, what are some cool looking (beyond Brasil, Cream Splash etc. ) philodendrons that are relatively easy ie. no need for humidifiers. I love alocasias and anthuriums but not sure if I'm ready for them. Thanks for any feedback.

The plant known as 'Snowdrift' is actually a Philodendron Jungle Fever Variegated. It just happens that this particular cultivar is selected from with the ones with the most variegation. The part where there's no green at all. So the plant tends to adapt by putting green parts itself, hence the green specks.

I managed to grow my Philodendron Florida ghost (which I guess behaves similar to the beauty?) unrooted chonk into a small plant (during German winter) by putting it in a plastic bag on some pretty wet moss on a heat mat (up to ~28°C during day time?). It was in front of a window with no direct sun. The bag was nearly completely sealed, but I left a little hole open and also opened + checked on it from time to time. Over 4 months, it grew 1 leaf and enough roots to pot it up. The first white baby leaf browned and died before unfurling after I removed it from the super high humidity, but the next is on its way and I hope it will stay as it unfurls in regular room conditions. I hope this could be of help so someone struggling!

I bought a Philodendron Gloriosum about 3months ago with one leaf and a little tiny bud popping out on the side. It's acclimated to my home with the new bud growing into a full new leaf. Now I just recently saw a new little bud and got excited that I was going to have 3 leaves and on my way to having a fuller plant. Just my luck, I decided to plant it in a bigger container with better mix and a couple days later the older leaf starts turning yellow! How upsetting that is, I thought this plant was a bit hardier and easy. I think I'm just gonna put it in leca like Kaylee Ellen does w/her plants.

Can I just say that you look beautiful with that lighter makeup look of yours. Been eyeing for Melanochrysum and El Choco Red tho. Greetings from Canada. 🍁

The Billitiae is actually pronounced 'Billy-Etty-Ayy'. The woman who discovered, Frieda Billiet gave clarification on the pronunciation after so many experts had been getting it wrong.

Definitely looks like a Snowdrift! I have a huge one and it’s one of my absolute favorites. Some of my leaves on my Snowdrift also stay white! Also I would love a rare plant index and some attention to syngoniums!

The beautiful thing about Serpens is because its leaves looks like a snake head, that’s why it has this name. 😊
