Thanks for sharing! Personally, I would stay far away from the Taal lake. Many nice locations around the lake, but there have been several leaks with deadly gas from the crater/lake. And people have died from it. And if it should blow up, it's safest to be far away.

I stayed 6 months in Baguio. It does have a Mall. The central part of it are very nice and it is cooler. However the domestic tourist numbers just explode from Friday through Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were my favorite days. Also it’s a 5-8 hour bus ride to an airport. Sessions is fun with the weekend market. It’s just a small city that is not meant to deal with such a large number of people

Hey Gio. Thanks for the info. For cooler weather fans, can you talk about higher elevation cities you would recommend versus beach front towns with a nice breeze you like? Thanks.

@@GiointhePhilippines that's an interesting take on Iloilo, it's called City of Smiles, hahaha. And for me, as a Filipino, Iloilo is the best city in this country, very bike and pedestrian friendly, the traffic is organized, has a lot of Public and Private hospitals and schools

Hello Gio, I just got home from being in the Philippines for three weeks with My Filipina. She is from Dipolog City. I like the part about there not being to many Foreigners there and the People are very Friendly. There are many Beautiful Ladies in Dipolog City, but I have the most Beautiful One for Myself. Take care.

I’m surprised Bohol is not listed. Love there are ferry rides between Duma, Siquijor (love it!) and Bohol. Better beaches I think though in Bohol than Duma. Love Baguio as well but the rain is a little much :). San Juan beach/La Union is close enough though.

It was #12 for me

Bohol is sort of undiscovered as far as foreigners go. I visited Bohol for the first time in 2010 and the last time I was there was 2017. Just in those 7 years, I saw lots of changes. In the next 10 years, Bohol will probably be built up quite a bit. If you can, buy land there now.

Youre not as favorable on CDO (esp Uptown area?). Its a still growing city. Theyre building a new Gaisano mall coming to Uptown, as well as a new hospital & Xavier University campus coming there as well. Me n my wife just bought a tract of land in Uptown to eventually build a house there (in Hillsborough Point subd to be precise)...a lot of my wifes relatives n college classmates still live there...traffic often gets to be a bit much, but plenty of malls, restaurants, n grocery stores avail.

I do like it and it was almost #10
@lmcc0072 Жыл бұрын
My girlfriend and I have a lot in Xavier Estates in CDO. We bought it years ago and plan to build a house there in the next few years before we retire. While CDO is crowded, you can pretty much find anything that you want or need there. I’d rather live in a more rural area, but that’s where our lot is and it’s also a safe area. It’s a good thing that we bought when we did. Our lot has more than tripled in price since we bought it 10+ years ago.

Did you find Mactan Newtown to be nice but a little slow? It seems like you would have to go out of the area 4-5 time per week for some entertainment. Were as with IT Park a person would just have to walk out of your condo to fine everything you need. Maybe once a week leave that area to fine beaches of nature.

#GioInThePhilippines. @Gio in the Philippines. You listed Bacolod as number 10, and mentioned that you can hop over to Iloilo from Bacolod, but you did not include us in the list. We felt our hearts pinched. But we thank you, anyway, for mentioning even just a wee bit the name of our city. But you can skip mentioning us if you don't like it. No problem with us here if you dont mention our city, we're happy and contented with what we have here in our city. And yes, please, you can visit our city without making any video on us, no problem with that. We're comfortable with what we have here, no videos necessary, and enjoy as much as you can of our city, it's for everybody.

Here’s a question for you. I am 73 never married. No kids don’t plan on getting married but if I were to marry a Filipina in the Philippines, and it didn’t work out, how would the US government know that I was ever married if I came back to the US
@GiointhePhilippines Жыл бұрын
Well, I guess technically they wouldn't know.
@adogcalledkat9858 Жыл бұрын

A lot of ex-pats I imagine get married to a filipina just because she wants it not because they’re particularly religious themselves

Unfortunately, because of the Catholic religion and Philippine law that Filipina cannot remarry without annulment, but if that was her decision to get married, then you can hardly blame the foreigner

Thanks GIO for sharing ur Top 10 places to live.l do concur with some of it but not all .Generally ,all seems pretty decent ,livable depending on one's budget ,priority taking into consideration family ,children's education if any,and lifestyle. I vacationed in Cebu for 6mos,stayed near Robinson (hotel) and enjoyed to d max.Been to Tagatay too,a couple of times.Nice weather but Taal Volcano will give me a 2nd thought to stay for good.lmagine ,if u purchase a landed property or condo for 20m and d volcano erupts😜😎.it's hard to predict nature's wrath . I experienced d great Baguio earthquake ,Jul 16,1990. Thete were 18 of us in d tour group.checked into Hyatt Baguio Terraces at ard 5pm local time .had shower and ushered in for dinner at ard 7pm .after dinner ,free itinerary so some of us patronized d casino 2nd floor.by 10pm was tired ,went back into our respective room.couldn't sleep felt uneasy all d time and d instinct (or gut feeling)something bad might happen .there were no advisory from d Mets Dept.l called up our tour guide ,a lady and insisted we should just move out to another hotel@Pine hotel nearby,instead.Of course she was hesitant ,having paid for rooms. Btw ,long story short,my friend and l checked out of Baguio and headed for Pine hotel and paid for our own bills. Surprisingly ,(or fortunately )d lady tour guide cum.manager followed suit ,an hour later .Later she told me ,in Chinese beliefs ,it's bad luck if someone mentioned this n that will happen so she subscribed to such norms/superstition. Around 1..am earthquake strikes .Baguio Terraces was d worst hit .we felt d tremors whilst in Pine hotel and we're alerted to d open ground within d hotel compound.After many hours we were told close to 80+ people in Baguioo Terraces were killed including d casino croupiers. Can't forget till now .May those who lost their lives RIP. Just can't believe we were spared our lives.Thankful to d Almighty,till now. So ,to reside permanently in a prone natural disasters area is a no no for me .Just a few days vacation is ok not even months.phobia sets in. Great video n insights ,GIO.Cheers🙏❤️❤️🇲🇾

I think your selling angeles city short. It has everything. Malls, international grocery store, modern hospital. It is rapidly growing and has its own international airport. Most parts are also not hit by typhoons and some parts are high up so it wont flood. Yes it has a reputation, but it has some much more then just nightlife. In 10 to twenty years it will be the best city in the philippines. That is my guess. i
